[It's only shortly after sunset when Edith turns her communicator on, but the map and leaflets from the bay are spread all across her bed.]

Okay, uh, sorry for posting like this but, I've never had to move like this without help so… how did everyone else adapt to being here? Was it easy finding a job and a better place to stay? I could really do with some advice, thank you.

[Yes it was only her second night in the city but she had to worry about money and a place to stay, and most importantly a steady blood supply before she went into hunger frenzy… but it wasn't like she could just ask for blood could she?]

[She didn't want to do this, she never wanted to do this but she was hungry and she had to get some blood while she still had self control. She'd start in Genessia and move to Everglade, back home she could look for the less savoury members of New York City, target those who would mug or attack others, play the meek lost girl and then turn the tables.

But here she didn't know where to hunt, she just had to hope for the best. ]

I found it was easy, but it was because I mostly knew what I was doing. So it might not be the same for everyone.

[Yukiko paused for a moment or two.]

If you need help the quickest and easiest way is to go to the welcome centre.

Well... I never was that good at adapting to change. [Reaching out and asking for help like this was a vast improvement for the shut in.]

Welcome centre? [Edith looks off to the side and there's the sound of rustling as Edith sorts though her leaflets.] I don't see...Did the hologram mention it I really should go back and listen to that message again... Oh! Here it is.

[Edith turns her attention back to the phone.]

Do you think they'd be open this late? I've been working the night shift so long I just can't stay awake in the day anymore.

I believe the hologram might have mentioned it, or there are probably signs that lead toward it.

[She paused, she wasn't sure of opening times, but if it was adapted to suit various needs, she couldn't think why not. More so if certain people can only be out at night.]

I assume so, but I've never really gone to check.

I guess there's only one way to find out then, I'll go check myself later, thanks for the suggestion...

How long. Well... It will be three years in November. So right now it's two years and eight months.

[Haru had been currently walking home from her job when she stopped for a moment. She was sure she recognised that face and it took the woman only a few seconds before it clicked.]

[Edith didn't know if she should risk trying to feed off someone who knew her, then again familiarity could make it easier to get close.]

Don't worry, I'm not lost this time, I just felt it might be a good idea to go for a walk and get to know the place better.

[She understood actually walking around and seeing places was always a good idea. She looked around slightly for a moment.]

I mean it took me a while to get use to certain areas myself.

So, I hope you don't mind me asking Haru, but how come you're out late at night?

Well that's positive.

[She paused for a moment.]

Sometimes I just like to wander and also just for study purposes that I might not be able to do during the day. That and on the odd occasion work.

[She turns her head slightly.]

What about you?

[sadsheriff]

Oh I worked night security back home, my sleep patterns so messed up I just can't stay in a bed at night any more. [Edith shrugged, as if being nocturnal was normal.]

So what are you studying?

[growsveggies]

Ah, that must be tough. Not being able to change one's sleeping patterns.

[She didn't know what it was like herself, but it didn't sound like a good thing.]

Just studying things like food services at night, what kind of tea and coffee they do and what it's like. That and other reasons as well.

It's annoying, but hey I'm from New York so there was always something to do at night.

Hmm, well how about I come with you tonight? You can study and I can learn the city...that's if you don't mind?

I've admittedly not been to New York myself. But I have heard people call it the city that never sleeps.

[She nodded slightly.]

That is a very good idea, two birds with one stone.

Oh I can attest to that, the place is crazy.

[Edith steps aside to let Haru take the lead, aiming to follow off to the side and a half step behind her.]

It's probably not a place I might ever go to myself, but who knows.

[She nodded slightly as she turned to start walking, looking over now and again.]

[Edith chuckled. ]

I figured... say what are the odds we're from the same world? I could try and show you around if we ever do end up in the same New York.

[Edith would try to keep up the small talk as they went, but eventually Haru would check behind her and find Eidth gone. ]

I don't know, I mean I've seen people from the same world I am from, so who knows really. Could very well be likely.

[Haru continued to walk a little longer before turning her head. She hadn't even heard them go really. So that was strange. She frowned slightly for a moment before she carried on.]

Edith tried not to be hurt, she'd thought Haru would call her name at least to see if she had just fallen behind.

Under the cover of Obfuscate she waited until Haru turned and started walking again, then she struck quickly, not wanting to drag this out. Haru was a nice person and Edith didn't want to scare her more than necessary and she didn't want to hurt her at all.

The vampire grabbed the girl trying to pin her arms to her side as she bit into Haru's neck. Hoping the haze of feeding would cloud Haru's mind enough not to know what exactly what was going on.

Haru within a moment could feel her arms pinned down and before knowing what to do or even what was going on, her mind started to get cloudy. She really couldn't make sense of what was going on. Maybe she was getting ill?

But while in that state there wasn't really much else she could do. She wondered however what would happen.

Terrifically easy, yes! Well, once one gets over the hurdle of otherworldly displacement. If, indeed, that's any obstacle. Most places will hire just about anyone, if our political situation hasn't made that clear. You'll rarely be refused on that count. And as for living, well, the sizable sum you've been given ought to make at least two months stay anywhere you like certain. Your necklace, at least, might hint at which fifth of the world might be most agreeable.

Oh, they fit in perfectly as a puzzle piece! We graciously allow them to do all our menial chores and fight in the arena for our amusement. It's quite the progression from earning glory by slaying them for being such pests. Not that they don't still serve as an utterly convenient outlet for one's frustrations, mind. Who knows; perhaps in a century or so we might even extend the franchise! Ridiculous, I know; people say I get dreamy. For an upshot, yes, I believe we've finally found a good place for them: at one's feet. A marked improvement from the throat.

Ahaha, well they are just leaflets. The like to be brief. I suppose one could make an encyclopedia, but patience, perhaps, is not at its best upon arrival.

[Weird thing is that's not even technically untrue. Attleton has an arena which could, hypothetically, host monster v. monster fights for fun. But probably not the way she's thinking.]
