[Now that Anastasia is completely safe from burning to death from the summer weather, she is taking more opportunities to play outside. Sorry, Satsuki!

Anastasia is with her smaller Pokémon somewhere where is plenty of room and out of people's way. She's dressed as pretty as she usually does, a cat-themed dress with a cat ear hairband. Her goal today is pretty simple. She plans to practice singing. She sets up a radio and hits play, and a adorably obnoxious song begins.

Anastasia's Sylveon was supposed to hold the camera phone and record the girl doing a cat dance and singing along. But it seems it was a public broadcast on the network instead!

Whoops.

Despite this, Anastasia has clearly been practicing and has gotten pretty decent at singing.]

Summertime is hot, isn't it? Fuu~ fuu~
Fan plugged in and cooling me down some more.

I think, perhaps, that you didn't mean to broadcast this to everyone. [She smiles, though.] Whether you did or not, it matters little and less. You've brightened at least one person's day, and for that, you deserve thanks.

[Of course that would startle Anastasia into stopping immediately and try to pretend she wasn't doing anything. But her Sylveon was definitely scared as it dropped the phone and started hopping around, squealing.

The music stopped and Anastasia picked up the phone to respond, though she was still blushing from the embarrassment.]

Umm, hi. No, I did not mean to... Sylveon must've hit a button... And thank you for saying such kind things.

[It will become obvious before long that the person she's talking to is tiny - shorter even than Ana herself. Aes giggles, then shakes her head.]

You're welcome, lass. Say, is that creature behind you what you called a 'sylveon'? I only ask because you're the first person I've seen here with anything like one of my Carbuncles...

[She turns the phone's camera to get a shot of her Topaz Carbuncle. It sits back on its haunches and raises a paw in greeting.]

[Lass? She isn't sure if she heard that before. Sylveon heard it's name and came up behind Anastasia, wiggling it's ribbon-like feelers on front of the camera.]

Yes, it's a Pokémon called a Sylveon. I have another from its family, called a Glaceon.

[And that Carbuncle... Now she wants a Carbuncle stuffed animal. She can't have too many stuffed animals.]

[Lovers of small, cute, furry things unite!]

I see! Would you mind letting me meet them?

[She can make you one, Ana. All she needs is a star ruby, a bolt of sylvan silk, two spools of rainbow cotton thread, and some cotton bolls... Kidding, kidding. Ordinary materials will work just fine!

She could probably even teach you to summon one, given time. You've certainly got the magical aptitude.]

Certainly! My Pokémon are happy to meet new people.

[Even though Anastasia can't properly tell she wasn't speaking to an ordinary human.]

Did you want to meet in person so I can meet your Carbuncle as well?

Well, I certainly didn't expect you to send them to me without an escort. I would love to meet in person - just tell me where to go, and Carbuncle will of course come along.

[Well, she'll certainly know it when they meet. The pointed ears kind of give her away, even if hers are kind of small.]

Guess you're a fan of earworm style songs, huh?

[It was something she was full on aware of.]

[Her playtime was already interrupted, so no squealing scared Sylveon this time to complicate things.]

'Earworm style?' What's that?

[It sounds gross. Worms wiggling in your ears? No thanks.]

Earworm is basically a term meaning a song that's catchy and ends up stuck in one's head once the song is no longer playing. Can also be called Stuck song syndrome.

Usually, the reason I find it gets stuck is the style of music that people use.

I just thought it was cute, so I studied the lyrics and use it to practice singing.

Yeah, cute can be one form of it. Probably one of the higher earworms to me anyway. A good way to practice if one isn't trained in singing.

Never would use it myself, but I've trained since I was five.

You have been singing since you were five years old? I only started this last December.

[Judging by the voice pitch, her chatting companion may be some years older. Singing for longer than Anastasia has been alive, probably.]

Yep, my mum suggested I start as part of a future goal in acting. Best to be decent in as much as I can that has some connection.

That was like...fourteen years now. Was thirteen since I was 18 when I arrived.

[Rose bobs her head along!] Cute song! Are you a singer back home or just a fan?

[Anastasia had been doing a practice go this time when a new voice appeared. She never bothered to stop broadcasting, even if it was an accident.]

Mm? No, I was just an ordinary Princess back home. I never had opportunities to do things like this.

Well... I suppose not. I was the only known one on my world and there is probably one other here. Though I haven't seen hide nor hair of her since the election nominations.

I've never met a real princess before! I did get knighted by the Queen of England though. And exiled. Big honor.

I have heard of England before. And other "Earth" countries like Japan and Rome-Italy. ...though I'm afraid to ask what you did to get exiled.

Um... [Grins!] I found meeting a werewolf really exciting, even though it was trying to convert her. We stopped it, me and my friend, but she felt I treated it with too much levity rather than the serious deference she felt it deserved.

What's acceptable outdoor wear and won't make you look crazy varies from one time period and planet to another.

Rock'n'Roll is a type o' music. The short flashy stuff for dancin' is goin' ta really shock the senses of some people.

A concert is a type o' performance. Rock concerts tend to be a bit rowdy and you wear short and light stuff for dancin'.

I still don't know what "Rockin' Roll" sounds like, but I do like dancing and singing.

[Given she watched quite a bit of the stuff online, she probably has heard rock music, but just didn't know.]
