The recent fights and events here held too many rules to show any test of real skill.
[His pride may still be hurting over a disqualification during his very first fencing match during the Games.]
How well can any of you wield a true weapon? How many have cut down their foes in battle?
It is strange to merely fight for trinkets with such flimsy weapons.
[A little bitter over his loss? Maybe.]

Indeed. It seems that these games were more for sport than anything, with safety being a high priority.
I'm more used to serious duels, and I've struck down many opponents in the different arenas that I've visited...

[Really, if he'd won, he probably would not be complaining like this. He knew when he signed up that it wasn't a serious life or death battle.]

Well, if you think fun is pointless...

[ In the end, she got bronze. Not quite what she was aiming for. ]
I use my spear, Gungnir, in a life or death battle.

[He does like the freedom of anything goes... To be able to fight, plan or run.]
I have used various weapons in battle. The lightsabers can be particularly effective.

[ She looks thoughtful. ]
So, how skilled are you?

[Of course that could mean, like some Generals, he just sat back and gave orders while others fought.]

I'd be most interested in seeing your skills...

The games were mean to be fun, not to show who's the absolute best at everything. Sometimes the real skill is to do your best while still following the rules. That's the hard part.

Did you not have fun battling others for a while?

You sound like you're looking for a good fight.

[ Her whole style is a cross between fencing, ballet, and gymnastics. The only reason she didn't enter was because she expected to be potentially unconscious from shock ball. ]
Anyone who thinks it lacks merit because it's not their chosen method of combat is a moron.
[ SORRY GRIEVOUS, BUT YOU LEGIT JUST INSULTED HER FIGHTING FOUNDATIONS. ]

There may be delicate negotiations in war but I have not seen such a term used in actual fighting.
This was a very strange event.
[He clearly doesn't get the subtleties.]

If fencing was an easy style to master, we both would have won. Just because we don't have the finesse for it doesn't mean we should be sore losers about it, Grievous.

It would be my mistake to not understand this game. It was not like a sparring match.
Yeah it was. Just not the kind we're used to.

[It's hard for this warrior to get out of that mindset for a competition.]

[He doesn't know how close to home that might hit, depending on the timeline Grievous came from.]

Go learn the definition of "sport", bucko. If it were a Life or Death Battle Royale, they would'a said so. Maybe you oughta read the rules before you humiliate yourself again next time.

So most sports tend to have rules people must follow.
