Game Night

Chiaki had made sure to send out the times, all she could hope for was people to come. She had set up two areas in the living room, one for video games and the other for various board games in the kitchen it was various snacks and food set up for anyone to eat while the gaming areas only had various bagged snacks and cans of drink.

For those who might be staying there was an area set up for people to lie down with a good number of pillows and blankets.

[ Mariko laughs, showing more pictures of herself and her dog. More importantly; it showed Mariko's smiling softer side, which is something she does not show anybody often or at all, unless she wants to. Mariko plugs in her headphones to her phone before removing them from around her neck. She offers it to Chiaki to use while scrolling towards a video of herself ]

[ Mariko couldn't help but blush a little. She's showing Chiaki more and more of herself through these preserved memories in a box. Mariko is a little grateful to have Weiss (the dog) as a way to bridge herself and Chiaki a little closer.

This goes on for a lot longer than Mariko thought. She showed videos of herself playing with her pet, her life in senior year of high school in Japan, roaming around Japan and other countries with her friends, and even herself backstage wearing an idol costume. Next thing she knows, she just showed Chiaki every photo and video she has on her phone. All throughout this moment of sharing, Mariko finds herself glancing and watching Chiaki's face for her reactions, or just to quietly appreciate the other woman's adorable looks that makes her skin warm up ]

Wish I had a little more to show you.

[ Mariko shrugs, lowering her phone and feeling her forearm grow tired from holding the device up for Chiaki. ]

There's still a bunch of space here, actually. Now that I think about it, I might as well fill this thing up to the limit with new stuff. So... scoot over a little closer. I'll take a selfie of the two of us.

[ Mariko bobs her head to the side to beckon Chiaki over to her, pushing a couple of buttons on the touch screen of her phone to ready the camera ]

[Chiaki seemed focused on looking through everything. There was always one thing Chiaki was good at when it came to video games was her focus, but at the same time made it harder to snap her out of it. But she smiled slightly as she looked before finally, her eyes glanced to the side, focusing drawn elsewhere.]

I wish I had things I could show you, but when I first arrived I didn't really have anything on me.

[She figured if they asked the best she could do was answer questions because that seemed like a good idea.]

I've never really done a selfie before, so this will be fun.

[She laughed slightly as she moved over to get closer for the picture. She didn't know if she should do something or not, so instead just decided to just smile.]

[ Mariko understood what Chiaki said about not having anything on her when she woke up here. It was almost sad to not have anything from home other than your memories or the clothes on your back.

But as Chiaki squeezes in close, Mariko reaches her arm out to get the both of them in the frame ]

It's alright if you don't have anything to show me. Genessia is a place where you can do things you couldn't or didn't do back home, and I think that's the beauty of it. You get to make new memories, you know?

[ Mariko smiles softly, turning her attention to the camera before snapping a photo. She doesn't know if it's just her crush on Chiaki or they happen to both be photogenic tonight, but Mariko is really happy of the resulting photograph. And since Chiaki said she hasn't done a selfie before, Mariko offers her phone to the other girl ]

I understand that. It's what I promised myself I would do because... Unlike most people here I'd be unable to go back home. That's the other beauty of this place... Even if it's a sad one.

[It what she had been trying to do for nearly a year now. Learning new things and trying new things were always fun. Chiaki had made sure to smile, but apart from that, she had really no idea of what else to do with a selfie. It was such a strange experience.]

Try taking a selfie? Is there any skill needed for it apart from aiming the camera?
