Okay, so I only got like two weeks before I have to leave this... wonderful room I've been given and while I'm still, kinda, well... looking for a job I'm done with this whole living alone thing.

So... anyone want a room mate?

[Helgi maybe a fox, but he's still trying to give the network the cute puppy eyed look.]

For the past week or so Helgi has been exploring and trying to get to know the cities better, and see what the places he saw advertising for workers were really like.

He could be found in any of the 4 cities, popping in and out of shops and roaming anywhere he could reach. Although he quickly decided he didn't like Everglade, damn that place was creepy.

Well, you're looking for a job, I'm looking for an assistant. Someone who can file, and grade and make tea and do all the fiddly things that I can't be bothered with and who won't slap me upside the head for asking.

As for room, I do have some, but it's a bit crowded.

[Oh wow! He hadn't expected job offers too, he just wanted to make sure that any potential roommates were aware of his financial position before offering him a room.]

I don't really have experience in being an assistant, but I know the alphabet and can make a mean cup of tea?

And I don't mind crowded sir, I grew up with crowded which is why I'm not really liking living by myself sir.

How are you at differential equations or hotwiring vehicles?

I, uh, Okay I have to admit I did not expect to get interviewed right now so let me start over.

Filing, yes.
Grading, no.
Tea, yes.
Not yelling at you, probably yes.
Differential equations no.
Hotwiring vehicles... Maybe yes, depends on the vehicle.

If these are the skills your assistants needs what in the world do you do?

Well you win some you lose some. The tea is the most essential anyway.

Yeah, uh, I think for my first job here I'll need something more... clearly defined before hand.

Right. And don't underestimate yourself. You've got a lot of potential to do great things so don't settle for less.

It depends on what sort of job you are looking for?

Also kind of the same for a roommate because some people can live with certain people while not being able to stand to live with others.

Like you might not be able to tolerate me, but then again I live in a one-bedroom apartment above a Pokemon spa. But I am here to see if maybe there is anyone I know who might.

Well, I was trained as a BSCAA officer so I guess security would be a good fit, but I don't mind doing other things. I just need a wake so I can help with rent wherever I end up.

I'd like to think I'm pretty adaptable when it comes with living with others, I did grow up in a full house and managed to avoid... most falling outs.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but what's a pokemon spa?

I believe the Schnee company deals a lot with security, so getting a job there might be a benefit. That's if they have any positions right now, so it would be best to check.

Good to know, but not so helpful in finding someone to live with. but I guess that depends on who wants to also. Usually people room with those they know, so... Who do you know here?

As for the Spa it's a place for the pokemon you might see with people where they can relax and have fun while there master, trainers, friends can go about work and such without them for a time.

[Yukiko was currently on patrol in Fayren when she stopped for s moment, pausing to look over. She couldn't help but stare for a moment because they stood out slightly.]

Hello there. You look like your exploring.

[Helgi turned around at the voice, tail wagging slightly as he did. ]

Yes miss, I'm new and still learning the ropes.

The name's Helgi, Helgi Rhine.

I'm Yukiko Amagi, a pleasure to meet you.

[She moves to bow slightly, her hand firmly clasped in her hand as she did.]

Learning the ropes doe seems accurate when new here, especially if the city if the kind pf place you aren't used to.

[Helgi looks surprised by the bow.]

It's uh, [The fox tries to bow like she did.] It's a pleasure to meet you too?

Well, nothing's going to top my first day, apart from that mess things seem to be going okay.

....Would it be impolite to ask how long you've been here?

What happened on your first day?

[She shook her head slightly.]

It's not impolite before, I get asked it quite often. I've been here coming up three years in November.

I went to open a bank account so I wouldn't be carrying all my money around on me and some idiot in a purple suit decided to rob it while I was still waiting to be served.

[Helgi shrugged.]

Guess I'm doomed to have bad luck no matter where I am.

And... wow three years huh? And they've made no progress on figuring out how to get home in all that time?

That's awful for your first day. Though most people wouldn't think of doing that on one's first day.

[Mostly because usually, you spend most of it trying to settle in.]

No. But you would probably need to know how to contact whoever brought us here in the first place to do that. Besides if there had been any progress, I doubt that I would still be here.

That doesn't surprise me, but I didn't feel safe carrying that much cash on me you know? It's funny when you think about it, I was worried about being mugged and walked right into a bank robbery.

That's true, It's just... it must be so frustrating being stuck here for three years.

I don't think it's funny. I guess since I wasn't there I wouldn't understand.

After a while, you just sadly get used to it. I was at the beginning though, just like everyone else.

Do you not like living alone?

Well, this is the first time I've really lived alone and yeah so far it's not been as fun as most people make it out to be.

I don't see or think much of it myself, but that is mostly because if I live alone I will forget to eat often.

Well, that's not good. [Pauses to think a moment.] Have you thought of setting an alarm on your phone for that kind of thing?

That's if these new phones they give us have alarms on them...

I wouldn't pay attention to it, even if I set one up.

[She can get that engrossed in a game.]

So it wouldn't really work. Plus, I don't really like them.

I...do have some room in my place, but I do an awful lot of work, so you may not see me much.

I was trained as a BSCAA officer, so things like tracking, interviewing people and investigating people who mistreat or neglect morphs like me. I did think of trying to track down bounties because of that but...

well I don't normally work alone and while I do investigate stuff it's usually the actual police that do the arresting. The whole set up is a bit of a podge.

[As for the offer of letting him stay he thinks it over.]

That's still a step up from living by myself. And you've been nothing but nice to me.

[His list of qualifications certainly surprises her, as well as the mistreatment of these Morphs.]

That's interesting. I never would have guessed that you'd be into that kind of work. Although I don't know of any job openings personally, I do know that there are openings listed in the newspaper every two weeks.

Although I am curious...why would people mistreat Morphs?

I like helping people, and while my sisters got into the charity side of things I didn't feel like I was doing any good there so I got my uncle to vouch for me with his boss.

As for why we're needed... [Helgi pauses trying to think over how to explain something he'd grown up with.]

Okay so in my world it used to be just humans, but one guy decided to make super smart animals to help anyone who needs it, you know the deaf, blind, and so on?

We were never meant to be as smart as humans and some people have trouble wrapping their heads around around it.

Well I was going to wait to see if I had any other offers first, but I think I will take you up on your offer!

Hmm, that's interesting. So...did he make animals into humans? Or half-humans? Or did he turn humans into animals?

[It took Helgi a bit of a while to get to Karla's place, he knocked three times and waited to see if he'd gotten the right door. His tail held low to the ground by nerves, but still wagging slightly.]

Um... Miss Karla?

[When she heard the knocked, Karla sheathed her sword and promptly stepped over to answer it.]

Hello, Helgi.

[He's even cuter in person. Karla smiled even wider as she stepped aside, pulling the door open to let him in.]

Come on in.

[The apartment is sparsely decorated, with just her bed, desk with chair, and a couch. Karla taps her chin as she notices something.]

Hmm. Looks like I'll need to buy an extra bed for you.

Thank you. [Helgi grinned back, tail still wagging as he looked around.]

Oh everything's all in one room? [Having grown up in a farm house he wasn't used to this kind of lay out, he didn't seem put off however.]

I don't mind sleeping on the couch until I can afford to get one myself.

Well...mostly.

[Karla shrugged, glancing at his tail briefly, amused at the wagging. She wasn't expecting that from him, even if he was a fox.]

There's also a balcony with a nice view of the city.

[She shrugged again as he insisted on sleeping on the couch.]

All right...if you're sure you'll be comfortable. Feel free to add any decorations you like, too.

Still jobless, huh? You know they pay you to go to school here.

They'd pay me to go to school? You mean like collage or uni?

[If Max looks closely he might notice a swish or two of Helgi's Tail wagging behind the fox.]

I'm just fine. I've been avoiding David. So I have no idea. Probably still happy and chipper as always.

My kid and boyfriend kind of left theirs here with me.

[Helgi's confused for a moment until he realised this was someone else who might have been offering him a room, either that or he was going to offer him the dog which would be a bit weird.]

Well, back home you can never really tell how dogs are going to react to me, but this place makes me look normal so if they like me I'd like them.

Although... [Helgi looks a little sheepish now.] I've already been offered a place to stay now, thank you.

Yeah, I've got two.

[Gentle grin... as much as a gruff marine with cigars can do.] Glad to hear it. I was gonna offer a job with it. I had an assistant for fixing up motorcycles for awhile, but like I said. Kid left. Good help is hard to keep. [Shrug.]

[This sounds much less scary than their last job offer!]

Well... I won't say I'm a mechanic, but I've helped family members tinker with their scramblers, would that be enough experience?
