The Arrival. (video | action for anyone in Genessia City)
[A hint of confusion lingers upon this newcomer's face once they finally arrived in Genessia proper. A rather lovely stranger with a rather unique bright vermilion red attire brandishing steel in the form if a classic black hilt ōdachi blade. The sword rests awkwardly upon his right side like a long curved pole. Nevertheless, not an inch of the sword touches the ground thanks to it's wielder's attentiveness. Despite all of these oddities, it's the strange black and white cat ears sitting upon that nest of shoulder length black hair and the matching tail that truly stands out beyond all things else.
Nao fumbles with his device a few times as he attempts to follow the instructions he heard earlier from the hologram upon the shore. He's drenched from head to toe thanks to the high tide, his hair clinging to his forehead and cheeks in slippery black strands.]
...Greetings. [He calls out tentatively once he's certain the phone is working properly. This marks the first time he seen technology quite like this before. Nao isn't very good with this kind of stuff.]
I trust I'm not alone here.
[He's tempted to reach others from his old clan but the former Shinobi isn't too certain if he'll receive an answer. Instead, he raises his left hand and does an incomplete version if the Tora gesture in hopes of alerting them. He can't exactly hold up the phone and do this at the same time. His clan coined the Tiger Symbol as their sign ages ago despite its many meanings.
If they're here, they would easily recognize him...and probably try to kill him. Nevertheless, it's worth trying to locate them now before swords are drawn.]
I can assure you that I come in peace.

Video.
I'm sure quite a lot of us comes in peace as well dear. I take it you just arrived.
no subject
I would hope so but I've learned from my travels not to assume.
[He smiles some.]
Who might you be?
no subject
True, but that's the fun part. [Giggled and smiled. Are guys like him that hot? Or was it just Blair?]
I'm Blair? What should I call you stranger?
no subject
A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Blair. [He notices her lack of a surname and clan but doesn't voice it.]
Nao Fujiwara of the Haineko Clan. Please just call me "Nao".
no subject
Nao it is. [Blair doesn't mind asking, she's always curious. He said clan, there's a clan! Now she's thinking he's BlackStar or something.] Hn, didn't know there were clans for cats like Blair. I don't suppose Death City, Nevada rings any bells?
[Not like Nao had a bell or anything, but oh well.]
no subject
[It's just as he figured. They're not from the same clan nevertheless village. This mildly intrigues him.]
I hail from a village that sits within a murky bay, Mizugakure.
no subject
It's pretty lively actually. There's people, festivals, and the random attacks or two that's sure to happen. [Doesn't the issue, nope.
But what he said, the name of his village, Blair taps her chin.]
Nyaow, never heard of it. [She waved a hand.] Sounds too ninja.
no subject
[He chuckles quietly. It seems that Blair has that slight verbal tic that some cats have. That's oddly...cute.]
Well, you're certainly right about that, Blair.
no subject
[She giggles and grinning happily, monster cat, yay.]
So you are a ninja? Neat! Hey, how about magic? Know some spells?
no subject
[He's quite amused here.]
Indeed, I am. Had I stayed and finished my training, I would've been a full fledged Shinobi. [Nao won't go into why he left but he's at least he's eager enough to answer her second inquiry.] That I do.
However, I only know what handful of spells. What about you, dear?
no subject
I know quite a handful myself, enough to mistake me for a witch. [She smiles brightly. Minor spells and dangerous ones too. Magic is so much fun.]
no subject
Do actual witches exist within your world? Mountain witches lurk within the highest peaks and the densest forests. They're usually ugly old crones with terrible teeth and a malevolent spirit.
no subject
Actually... [She raises an index finger.] They do! Some are ugly like that and others are what you least expect. They live about almost anywhere. I worked along with two witches back home. They're really cool.
[He'll give his own any day now.]
no subject
I thank you for the warm welcome. However, I confess to be quite perplexed.
[He pauses briefly when the man asks his name. Should he mention the clam he hails from? Probably not.]
Nao Fujiwara. It's a pleasure.
[Forgive him for being a tad formal.]
no subject
You're welcome for the welcome! What's perplexing you?
[Besides the, you know, spiriting away. No forgiveness necessary; Ted admires the mannerly. They're very comic. He strives to comedy himself, as Nao will soon suffer.]
Ah, rats, another name of the orient! Nothing aganist them, mind, acoustically they're very fine, but the meanings are so elusive. Do you know it for the two of them? Would it be impudent to receive such a thing Nao rather than later?
[hi-larious.]
no subject
[He mentions this just before that horrifically bad pun strikes him like whiplash. The poor ninja can only sigh as he regards this oddity before him with an intense frown.]
My given name means "Honesty" and my family name means "Wisteria".
no subject
[He titters at Nao's displeasure. How good a joke to have any reaction at all, good or bad, to be the right one.]
Ah, is that all? The method? Sorry, I'd like to know that myself. Goodness knows how the Spirits' fingers reach so far, even beyond death for some. Could these Amanushi of yours do that? What were they like?
Oh, you might like Shinjiro then, a proud young man I met earlier whose name is very like. Thank you for the illumination.
no subject
There's other oddities about this realm that sparks my intrigue but much rather not state them so publicly.
[He's quite aware that this isn't a private conversation.]
As for the Amanushi, no one dares to summon them but they are indeed spirits. They're the masters of my realm, humanoids who linger in between the twilight of life and death. They are to be respected and feared.
[He pauses at the mention of this "Shinjiro". Nao is somewhat curious.]
I'm certain I shall meet him eventually.
no subject
I might know such oddiites, having occupied this realm a while now. Would you state them privately?
Aheh, that'd be a good bit of comeuppance. Fancy our spirits being summoned themselves, eh? Might learn empathy then. Still, odd to learn that the spirits have a humanoid form. Ours merely look like globes of luminous light. Did they manage things well, at least?
no subject
[That's not a guaranteed, friendly weirdo.]
As the legend goes, the Amanushi were originally an assortment of souls lost within the flow of life. They eventually became whole when they merged their collective consciousness within a living man. Time began anew and the world itself was reborn.
[Nao gives some thought here. It's not wise to speak too freely.]
For all of humanities blunders, I dare say that the Amanushi does us no favors.
no subject
Goodness! Just crammed themselves together into what corpse would have them, eh? That must've been a strain.
[He tilts his head, curiously]
Ah, you're not human, then?
[The cat ears might've been the first clue, were he observant enough to notice.]
video;
[He already noticed that others had replied at least.]
I come in peace as well and here to try and help.
no subject
[Nao replies with something akin to a smile.]
Good to know. I had feared I would come across hostility upon here.
no subject
[He just didn't know who those people are really.]
But anyway, even with that most people are nice and if you have any more questions, ask away.
