WHO: 10th Doctor & Prompts & OTA
WHERE: Various locations
WHEN: End of August - September 3rd
WARNINGS: Update as needed
Mirajane, Rose and 10 at Fairy Haven
This is an interesting request to lunch meet - he almost swears that she's figured out that besides needing to sleep regularly that drinking is out of the question - unless he wants to get wasted and that hang over was not worth it. In the meantime he's going to kick his feet on the table with his sandshoes and play with his yellow yo-yo.
10 and Milton in Everglade
As Dammers prowls around the foggy area of Everglade, with the snarling trees and flickering lamp posts -might notice that something is only slightly out of place. Which would be that 1960's London Police Box resting on the street corner. Slightly out of place because it's not rusting or dirty or having vines growing on it.
10 and Emma at Geraldi's Pizzeria
It's Ten's turn to bring food back tonight and obviously pizza is the completely the right choice. Though the employee taking the order when asking for Ten's name and getting, 'The Doctor' in reply, stares at Ten as if - you know if this was a phone call, they'd think it was a prank call order.
Then proceeds to a booth and rests his sandshoes on the table.
10 and Captain Jack in Tardis
The Doctor is floating in the Zero Room and if he is disturbed, Sexy most find the issue to be the utmost important. It's a rather plain looking room. No furniture. White and smells like roses.
10 and Martha at hospital
The Doctor, needless to say, isn't the fondest one of hospitals but he did tell Martha he'd come to dinner. Even if he'd rather brave an entire fleet of Sycorax than be in a hospital.
10 and Amy in Attleton
The Doctor is sneaking around the subarchways when he finds himself in - domestic vile and as much as he'd fuss about it playful with Rose - he remembers when he thought he lost the Tardis on that planet orbiting that black hole. He couldn't have given her that because he'd still outlive her but it's what she wants. With him. Or wanted. Or something he's not sure anymore. He's just going to mosey around a bit don't mind him. Try to figure out why that sort of life is so appealing.

...well, that's Jack, isn't it.
[That is, caring a bit too much for his own good. The melancholy's obvious, although he's also obviously a bit more at peace with certain things than his younger self. Of course, he's had a lot longer to sit with it all, and see how it all fits together.]
I could have a word.
[Of course, normally, he'd barge in and take control of the situation--he's the Doctor, his younger self surely knows that--but in this case, he feels it's important to not overstep. Privacy of one's own regeneration, after all. Still, he does have a sort of perspective his younger self doesn't--can't--have, so he has to at least offer it.]

If you want.
[Ten isn't sure if anyone can get through to Rose, expect maybe Jack. You mean the fact that multiverse was ending and he ends up making a human double of himself that was made from his hand that was cut off at Christmas, that commits genocide and shoves that one with Rose into the parallel universe? Ten's heard more than he wants to know. Did you know that Rose blames a lot?]

[He flashes a knowing smile over at his younger self, before getting distracted with the console again.]
Ohhhh, the bicycle pump, I have missed the bicycle pump... ...no, sorry, that's actually not what I'm here for.
[He twirls back around to face his prior
-and-a-halfincarnation, suddenly snapping out of his TARDIS affection reminiscing.]D'you mind if I have a bit of a look 'round, there's something I've been meaning to find, don't worry, it's nothing you'll miss, I should know, but it's... important... sort of.

Oh, so what's this is about. Sure what do you want? My tie? My screwdriver? [Not to sound rude but he is because he doesn't feel after all the drama he has anything to give. And tosses both his tie and screwdriver in Eleven's direction. He can't do this anymore, sorry. It's not you Eleven. It's being trapped in drama for months and losing himself]

[He stares at his younger self taking his tie off--as if snapping at him about that weren't weird enough, actually taking it off? And then throwing it at/to him?! He takes a step back, but catches that and the sonic, just looking bewildered for a second.]
Yeah, 'course, obviously, I'm here for your tie, because there's no way I'd already have it, if I wanted it.
[Also, he has his own sonic, as his younger incarnation knows perfectly well. He tosses the tie down on the console, gives the silver sonic a little flip up in the air, and tosses it back to his counterpart.]
I said "nothing you'll miss," so, what the hell was that?
no subject
Sorry. Just sorry. Forget it.
[Exhaused all around. Forget it. He really wishes he could forget some things he's learned some things he shouldn't know]
You just worded that - badly - Sorry.
no subject
...no, I didn't, but it's as if I had, t'you, isn't it.
[It's clearly not said defensively, or judgmentally, but analytically: the words were innocent enough, he's double- and triple-checked them since start reaction started, but they obviously meant something specific and outside the norm to his younger self. He pauses, hands half-raised, fingers curling a little, with that impulse as though he should do something, fix the problem, despite knowing it's not something you can just tweak or adjust or sonic into being better.]
...no. No, I'm sorry, I didn't realize it was that bad. It's-
[He pauses just a second, flashing a small smile.]
...spoilers, something to do with your future, my past, didn't want to give you more to worry about.
[The Doctor gives his younger self a brief, searching glance, before he continues; it may be his future, but it's nothing he wouldn't already know or guess, nothing he'd have any reason to take personally.]
...something Amy and Rory were used to me wearing, sort of put it away after they... ...stopped traveling with me. Only a matter of time before she starts wondering what's changed, better she doesn't have to worry 'bout it.
[After all, lies are like incisions. Sometimes they're the only way to help, so you make the smallest ones you can manage, and figure out a salve to cover them over.
The Doctor raises his eyebrows, making a point that he's leaving it up to his younger self, whether he proceeds. After all, it's the Tenth Doctor's TARDIS, not his own, as much as he doesn't like to dwell on that point. ...well, it is... but it isn't. Still, a point of respect.]
Is that all right with you?

It's been going on for a month.
[And doesn't know how much longer he can go on - or how long Jack can hang on before he drowns between Ten and Rose and then everyone loses.]
I know about MetaCrisis. The multiverse in danger from Darvous and The Daleks. Which obviously has caused some kind of leak in space and time and allowing for Rose to pass easily between the realities for that time.
Yeah - well. Some of us don't know how to keep their mouth shut.
[or stop screaming for that matter. You're lying. But at least you have the courtesy to do that.]
Yeah.
Sorry, again about before.
[Then slowly proceeds to walk off his own way - and stops and looks back for a moment. No, he should really try to work the problem out because he doesn't like his own idea of asking himself that]
no subject
...quite all right, who d'we get cross with more than ourselves, anyway?
[It's one of those statements expressed playfully specifically because it's so painfully true, and yet also a bit silly, all things considered. He glances downward a moment, then up toward his younger self again.]
I meant it, by the way--if there's anything I can do to help, you let me know, yeah?

[...which, of course, could mean quite a long way, inside the TARDIS, but hopefully she'd be cooperative. And with a quirky little smile, he heads off in the general direction of the wardrobe, since that's the obvious place to conclude he'd find a particular jacket in the TARDIS.
...although that's totally not his real destination. Once he's got some distance from his younger self, he's off to find the preemptive archives, best odds for finding that particular tweed jacket he'd lifted from a hospital a few years in the (relative) future.]
