WHO: Colette Brunel and Dray Lyell
WHERE: Fayren forest, Dray's home
WHEN: After MewTwo's destroys part of the forest and Ace let's out all the dogs from the shelters.
WARNINGS: Nah
[To say that Dray is annoyed is an understatement. He's not prone to lose his temper, he's usually as peaceful as one can get, but this week was testing him. An explosion in the forest made all the animals wildly ran away for cover. It hasn't been close enough to damage the house's structure or its occupants but it rattled the glass walls and shock it rather badly.
Dray is checking every window, every joint and corner to make sure the house isn't about to fall on Colette or him. His new roommate isn't home and Dray started to worry about her well-being. Perhaps he should go out and check where she went...]

Come on! Come on in - that’s it! Oh, you’re such a good boy, yes you are! [She takes a knee to pet the puppy vigorously.] You’re gonna like it here so much! There’s lots of room, and I have pokemon so even when I’m out you’ll have lots of friends, and Dray’s really nice! He’s a kitty but I think you two will be best friends because you’re just such a good boy!
[Oh Colette, you sweet summer child.]

You’re such a good boy!
No. She did not just...???? Pokemon, Dray doesn't mind, he was used to all sort of animals and fairies back in his homeworld but he draws the line at dogs. Warily, Dray goes to the first floor to meet then and then...he just stares in confusion.]
Is that a half dog? [Why is that thing so short.]
no subject
He's not a half dog! Pookie's just a puppy still so he's so cute and tiny! Yes he is, yes you are! [Whoops got distracted by the dog for a sec.] He might grow to be really big, or he might stay small. I don't know what type he is but I love him all the same!
[She demonstrates this by kissing the top of his head a few times. Pookie, as he's been named
(because Colette can only name dogs generically), licks her cheek in return. How can you not love a face like that, Dray?]
no subject
[Dray looks fairly unimpressed by the dog's cuteness. He's a sucker for cute things, cats, bunnies...but dogs. Dogs he has a lot of trouble trusting. They like to bite and chase creatures like him.]
You are going to get fleas if you keep kissing and touching it. [He can not love it fairly easily, actually.] Where did you get it?

[She pauses mid-pet as it dawns on her that she doesn't live alone anymore and maybe Dray isn't okay with having a dog in the house. She turns to him, looking crestfallen.]
But... but if you don't want him I could always bring him to the shelter.
[The puppy takes her moment of pause to lie down and roll over. Goodness it's cute. She's trying hard not to sniffle here. She's always wanted a puppy, Dray. Don't take this from her!]

And then, Dray makes the mistake to look at Colette's sad face. He can practically hear his own resolve wither and die. Gdit.]
I suppose it's...not too horrible. [The Eidion gives the most dramatic of sights, and moves to perch on the nearest chair, still eying the dog as if it's about to attack him or something.]
But I don't want it getting into my room.

[Colette's face lights up with excitement and she's on him, arms wrapped tightly around his body.
You expected the dog to pounce, not the excited girl, didn't you?]
Oh thank you thank you thank you!!
[And now back to the puppy. Luckily it just kind of hangs from her arms with a happy tongue sticking out, glad for the attention.]
You hear that, Pookie? You can stay with us!
no subject
He's going to regret this, Dray just knows it. Because of that, and because he has a penchant for melodramatic, he gives Colette a long-suffering sigh before answering.]
He can stand. But he can't go into the kitchen either, he would leave fur everywhere. [Say the person covered by short cream fur from head to toe.]Pookie? That's his name?
no subject
[She won't call him out on the hypocrisy
does Dray even shed?, just glad that her puppy can stay.]Oh, but if he can't go in the kitchen where should I leave his food?
no subject
[She could call him out, even if no, he doesn't shed.]
Uhm...[Woops, that's a legit question.] Fine, he can eat in the kitchen. He's too short to reach the cupboards, I don't think he would cause a lot of trouble. Where is he sleeping?
no subject
No, he's definitely too small to get way up there! [She has no idea how big he'll grow, mind you. They'll cross that bridge when they get there.]
I'm hoping he'll sleep with me, but it's up to him! I'm going to pick up a little step stool tomorrow too so he can get on my bed and a little doggie bed that I'll put in my room in case he doesn't like my bed.
[Pookie gives a little yip of excitement and wags his tail. He has no idea what's going on but he's getting attention. Life is good.]
no subject
Had you pets like this one before? Are all of them this excitable?
[He can tell the dog is happy, he's jus not sure why THAT MUCH happy.]
no subject
[She shakes her head.] No, I didn't have one growing up, but I always wanted one. My friend Lloyd had a big dog, though, and he was really nice, but he wasn't quite this energetic. But some dogs are just more excitable than others, especially when they're young. Just like people.
no subject
Ah, yes that sounds about right. [He looks at Colette and this time he can't hep but smile, his annoyance mostly gone now.] Tell me more about your friends back home.
