[Action] Adventures in spa~ace via Holodeck'd
[Who]: Anastasia and YOU. red shirts need not attend
[Where]: Holodeck'd, space adventure program.
[When]: Morning
[Warnings]: Womulans! *jazz hands*
[It was probably as good a time as any. After having learned the uses of the Holodeck'd, Anastasia made arrangements to play in it. Seeing her future or reliving her past was out of the question, so she chose a program that fascinated her people. The concept of space travel.
Of course, what kind of a brat would she be if she didn't dress up for the playtime? Anastasia was dressed in a little metallic purple dress with matching knee-high boots as she entered Holodeck'd and started the program.
Finding herself now in a realistic futuristic bridge of a ship sailing silently with panoramic view of a endless black void dotted with shimmering stars and massive planets.
The young lady smiled brightly in childlike wonder, watching one gas giant on the left side of the space ship come into view, slowly get larger until it was unfathomably huge, then shrink back into the distance. Then she looked ahead and saw one of the rocky moons dead in front. She was on a collision course.
Anastasia checked the helm station having absolutely no idea how to steer this space boat. It was just a wild guess to run her hand over the panel, then feeling the ship tilt to the left and narrowly miss the moon. She sighed in relief and put the ship back on its original course; Adventure.
Of course, every cute space ship captain needs some crew to help her out. Who is brave enough to join her for adventure? You can be with her at the start, or join her later exploring planets.]</small>
The first world Anastasia's ship visits is a rocky one with a dark sky. Silvery lakes fill craters around. The space princess barely even walks a few feet before a blobby alien appears, speaking with various blurbs and squishes.]
Umm, hello? I come in peace and stuff?
[The alien extends a gooey tentacle and wraps it around Anastasia's hand and shakes erratically for a moment then pulls away, leaving slime on the girl's hand.]
Eww... But, yay? ...Now what?
[On the next leg of Anastasia's adventure, she lands on a icy planet with about as little as the last planet. She merely walks in a big circle around her ship, thinking about how much like her home country this planet was.
But then, something crashes from under the ice! A giant serpentine monster evolved for swimming through ice and noodly limbs for catching prey, and it was quick to catching it's prey as Anastasia is wrapped and hoisted up in the air. The alien monster roars in victory as it flails the girl around.]
"When I wanted adventure this was not what I had in mind!!"
[Someone should probably get her down before she comes a cute snack.]
[Sailing along in the ocean of space, Anastasia was looking for the next planet to visit. But suddenly, something collided with her ship. Looking at the viewers, she could see a larger ship bearing a black flag with a star-crowned skull. She was being set upon by pirates! They were quick to catch her ship and now they were trying to get on board. Out of one frying pan and into another it seems.]
[Next, Anastasia lands at a terran planet. A little jaunt through the jungle and she finds a tiny tribal community of primative humanoid species. She wasn't spotted by then, so she only stays hidden in the foliage and watching them.]
They're similar to the Orcish tribes of my world, but these people seem to only just started fashioning tools from stone and wood... I wonder if civilization started this way on my world?
[She had been at this for a good while now today. Anastasia decided her last stop in this Holodeck'd space adventure would be a picnic on a tiny moon in orbit around a ringed gas giant. There were several other moons in the sky, plus the parent star ever so slightly eclipsed by one of the moons.]

You look like you could use a hand.

The alien creature roared in pain, having been interrupted from snacking on Anastasia. It flails it's noodly limbs harder, causing the girl a lot more stress and looking like it's getting ready to charge.]
I could use a way to get down, please!!
no subject
[He freezes time, just long enough to sever the tentacles holding her and catch her before she can fall. By the time it starts moving again, he's holding her and they're very nearly to the ground.]
- than done. What in the world did they program this thing to do, anyway?
no subject
My hero~
[She'd give him a kiss on the cheek, but after the chat with Satsuki... Yeah, better not. Her smile is reward enough for most.]
I don't know, though. Something about classic retro science-fiction.
[That explains the cheap roar sound effect as the alien monster flails more before charging in to try to take back it's snack, it's movements causing the snow and ice to explode.]
Um, Soma? It's coming back this way!
no subject
Science fiction. Right. Giant monsters, shiny clothes, I should've guessed.
[He puts himself between the monster and its snack - you're gonna have to go through him, tall dark and ugly.]
Don't worry. I've got this.
[And he's now drawing possibly the largest sword she'll have ever seen - and it's glowing. Claimh Solais. Ireland's sacred Sword of Light. A claymore as long as he is tall, and almost as wide as his body. He starts running toward the giant worm, answering its cheesy roar with a full-throated battle cry of his own. Just before they meet, there's a flash of light - and then Soma is past the worm, rising from the finishing position of his strike. The worm continues on for another foot or two, before realizing it's been cut in half.]
no subject
Anastasia made sure her sci-fi dress was properly smoothed out once she was certain she was safe.]
Thank you for saving me, Soma. I don't know what would happen if that thing ate me in a simulation.
[Anastasia glanced up at the sky. Completely white. Nothing to see beyond it.]
What do you think of it? It's a lot like my home, but... We definitely didn't have these things here.
no subject
[Safe is relative, in a place like this. The computer is busily working on a threat assessment based on this new arrival, and making adjustments based on his performance. Considering this place is based on the Danger Rooms from X-Men, that means something very likely larger and stronger is on its way before long - but for the moment, they have breathing room.]
[He looks around, noticing for the first time how cold it really is. Environmental factors aren't usually something he has to worry about - but that's because most of what's being thrown at him is fire, poison, acid, or electricity. Cold... is new. And he has very little defense against it.]
It's lovely, but I'm not sure I could take being this cold for very long. Even knowing this is a simulation, this is still colder than I've ever been before. The worms... I've dealt with those before. Or something very similar.
no subject
[There certainly wasn't anything of interest on this surface. It was just an ocean of ice and snow for miles on end. Nothing to ever suggest intelligent life evolved on this planet.]
You can't handle the cold? I feel just fine. I would offer to stay close, but... I'm naturally cold so I wouldn't be of any help.
[Something far in the distance is kicking up tons of snow.]
no subject
[That... really is quite a lot of snow being kicked up. Soma has a baaaaad feeling about this.]
Something else is coming. Whatever it is, it's big - bigger than that worm.
no subject
[Anastasia points to a small ship, totally retro in design. Once Soma mentioned something coming their way, she turns to look where he's looking.]
Umm... Maybe I should go to the ship as well.
[Whatever was coming, it wasn't a single huge thing. It was a stampede of hundreds of many-legged bison-like creatures. They don't appear to be hunting for fleshy snacks. Just stampeding for the sake of stampeding.]
no subject
...Yeah, I think we'd better get in the ship. At least until the herd is gone.
[...Of course, that will mean the two of them are basically trapped in an enclosed space. Granted, a small space ship is still going to be pretty big on the inside - but Satsuki almost certainly would not approve. Any port in a storm, though - Soma will let her go first, and keep his eyes firmly affixed on the approaching stampede while she boards.]
no subject
Though for a moment, she turns to see that Soma didn't come in as well. She waited for a moment to see if he shows up.]
no subject
I would love to find out who designed this particular scenario.
[...He's not terribly amused. Someone coming in here expecting a bit of harmless fun could get seriously hurt.]
no subject
[They were goopy, but friendly. It didn't take long before the stampede arrives, the force of their stampeding cashing the ship to shake and rattle. It was only a few minutes for the herd to pass.]
no subject
That's... good? This one seems to be populated mostly by things that want us dead in one way or another, though. Including the weather, in my case.
[He may be basking under that heater vent.]
Does this thing go anywhere else? Or do you want to try to go back out there, and see if there's something to find?
no subject
[She points to a panel that has basic info on the planet. Unnamed, unexplored, home to basic plant and animal life, no developed species or capacity for an intelligent species to emerge..]
Let's get flying and see what else we can find, shall we?
[She had some time to get familiar with the controls. It's still sluggish, but she manages to get the ship airborne and on autopilot to the next planet of interest. This will take a few minutes.]
no subject
It's a good thing this thing doesn't do costumes. I would look terrible in metallic blue; you wear it pretty well, though.
[He shoots her a quick ghost of a smile, but afterwards goes back to... well, moping is too strong a word, but still, it's close enough for government work.]
no subject
Thank you. I love it. All I had to do was ask for a costume for girls in the future, and here it was~
[Sailing along in the ocean of space, Anastasia was looking for the next planet to visit. But suddenly, something collided with her ship. Looking at the viewers, she could see a larger ship bearing a black flag with a star-crowned skull. She was being set upon by pirates! They were quick to catch her ship and now they were trying to get on board. Out of one frying pan and into another it seems.]
no subject
It probably would have put me in something silver. That's usually how it works in this genre.
[Soma just... facepalms, when the pirate ship attacks. Sure, they have guns on their ship, and taking enough damage to the ship itself would be pretty bad - but they were trying to board. More to the point, they're trying to board a ship carrying a goddess-gifted mage and a ... whatever the hell Soma is.]
I know this is a simulation and all, but these guys have picked the wrong ship to board.
no subject
For now, Anastasia would stay away and let Soma explain why pirates are not welcome here as a team of them of them show up on the bridge with laser cutlasses.]
"We be the Pirates Three, arr! We come for every last scrap of booty from thee! Hand'em over, and the girl will spared!"
[Obviously not very bright either. They don't even have Anastasia hostage yet.]
no subject
[The thing about weapons like they're holding is that they don't do terribly well with power surges. He tosses a bolt of chain lightning out to disable the cutlasses, then gives the pirates a look.]
Go away, before I teach you the true meaning of 'keelhaul'.
[Nothing doing; these are real hardcore dyed-in-the-wool pirates. They draw blaster pistols and begin firing - only to find their shots blocked by a shield several inches away from Soma's body.]
I warned you. Now, grit your teeth, or you'll bite your tongues. ...Not that it really matters.
[And now, we see the proper demonstration of a heavy punch, as applied to the jaw of the frontmost pirate - a punch that will send him flying back past his brethren. If he were real, he'd be needing to get that jaw wired shut for a few months. Soma looks at the other two, with an eyebrow raised. Call it quits, or does he get to send them ALL home with brand new dental work?]
no subject
The two remaining pirates picked up their KO'd companion.]
We are the Pirates Three! And we're...going home now... If that's okay?
[Anastasia blinks at them inquisitively, then looks to Soma.]
no subject
[He dismisses them from his field of concern, and goes to check on Ana.]
You okay? No stray blaster wounds or anything?
no subject
Even now, she isn't aware.]
no subject
We should get that fixed up. I have potions, but... it might be better to just use regular first aid for something that minor.
[Or, y'know, he could just throw fire at her. Maybe not the best of plans, if her dress happens to be made of plastic.]
