Fourth Mission [Action]
[The changes to Fayren don't go unnoticed by Erza, though some are more sudden than others. For instance, Erza heads out the guild hall doors, only to be greeted by knee-deep water. She quickly shuts the doors, leaving some water (along with a few fish who comment on how rude it is to be snatched from their home) in the guild.]
I think we're under attack.
[Once she manages to find a way out of the guild, Erza is quickly annoyed by the sheer insanity that is the transformed Fayren. Doors refuse to open until a riddle is answered (though she quickly finds out that the threat of an axe works just as well against the wooden ones), specific cobblestones send her flying into the air, and most of the chairs are telling her off for sitting on them.
At least, in times like this, she can always rely on cake to calm her down. Unfortunately, the changes to Fayren have even ruined the sanctity of that. After a few bites of cake, she finds that it's grown rapidly before her eyes. Or rather, as she looks around, she realizes that she has shrunk to the size of a mouse.]
ARRRGH!!!

ARRRGH!!!

[Action] Not sure where Erza went, hope it's okay.
[The blond girl is sure she heard her Deputy stomp in the guild's hallway, yelling about Fayren being under attack or something. And then there was... a groan? A squeak? She couldn't be too sure?
She steps outside and notices the abandoned cake on the ground. Something's definitely off here.]
[Action] Sounds good! I probably should have specified, but I left it open
[Erza's voice is barely audible, but she's jumping around and waving her arms in an attempt to get noticed. Once she realizes that this won't work, she exquips to this armour, the largest one that she has (so far).]
Don't eat the cake! [She doesn't want Mavis to suffer the same fate. ...Plus, most of it landed on the plate, so those parts should be good for later once the curse wears off of it.]
[Action]
Erza?
[Mira tried calling out for her, which to the tiny Erza might sound more like a boom of a sound than normal at her size. Well Mira could see there was some cake that had a bite taken out of it, and a little red haired doll, but that was hardly strange with all the things she'd seen today.
...
Wait a minute... no it couldn't be... right?]
[Action]
When Mavis insisted on leaving as well, there was no way he was letting her go out there alone. But the abandoned cake was a bizarre sight indeed. Erza would never allow cake to go uneaten like this!
When he sees the tiny, shrunken Erza, Zeref's eyes briefly narrow, before he turns,
and calls out in no particular direction... }
Brandish?
{ Cursed or enchanted cake was not the first thing that came to mind, for him. }
action.
But when Erza finally left, the cat called out to her.]
Erza wait! Blair wants to go too!
[She tried to follow the armor woman and lost sight of her after she left the halls. Blair hopped through a window and was fortune enough to get outside. She landed on the ground, which probably felt like an earthquake for the tiny human. Blair looked around for Erza, unaware she was near by.]
[Action]
Grr... Not this again... [A booming voice leaves her clutching her ears, though even at her size, she could tell that it's someone calling her name. Looking around, she spots a familiar shoe, and quickly gazes upwards to see Mirajane, now building-sized and looking down at her.]
Mira! Can you help me out?
[Action]
Well look at you! How did you get so adorably tiny?
[She did her best to be as gentle as possible when scooping Erza up in her hands. It simply wouldn't do for her to end up in a duel with a house cat.]
You're lucky I'm not too impulsive, or there's all manner of terrible things I could be tempted to do with you at this size.
action.
Blair? You're just in time. Can you help me get to-- [Erza's interrupted by a bird "caw"ing as it swoops down at her, seeing her shiny armour as something to add to its nest.] Back! Back, I say! [Erza swings her sword at it, but her weapon is comparable to a toothpick, so she's not going to intimidate the bird easily.]
[Action]
[Erza goes a little pale - that comment makes her feel a little relieved that Natsu isn't here. ...Then again, it would make for good practice if she ever had to fight a giant.] Just set me down on the table. ...Please.
[Action] Brandish would totally do that! lol
Erza!?!
[She opens one hand, palm upward and places it next to the mini deputy guild master. Her voice is barely audible but maybe if she brings Erza closer to her ear, she might be able to hear her better.]
Eating that piece of cake made you shrink? ...Where did you get it? [She's positive that Fai's cakes never did that to anybody.
She turns to Zeref as she hears him behind her and frowns at the name he says. From what she's heard, Brandish would be able to do that. But something about this theory bothers Mavis. New arrivals are usually not discreet and, as part of her job as Deputy Guardian, Mavis checks the new messages she gets via her communicator regularly.]
You think she could have gotten here without us knowing?
[Action] 1/3
[Mirajane was giving Erza a suggestive wink, and tightening her grip on the red haired mage just a little so she couldn't escape, and she wouldn't fall. Why you might ask?]
[Action] 2/3
[Yup... Mirajane just full bodily licked Erza like a giant dog, covering the other girl in saliva and probably making her wish it had been Natsu, or someone else now who found her.]
[Action] 3/3
Yup! Just as I thought, you taste very metallic.
[She is putting Erza down, safe and sound on the table. Just... not entirely dry.]
[Action]
I'd just like to get back to normal; I can't see the upside to being stuck like this. [Maybe if cake didn't shrink people, then there'd be the advantage of being able to eat giant cake, but that's all she can think of.]
[Action] Haha yeah!
It's just a piece that I had around here. Maybe it has to do with what's going on in Fayren? ...I'd... better not eat any more, I guess. [She hates having to say that, but she doesn't want to shrink any further than she already has.]
[Action]
Really? When I was first learning my takeovers for different animals I was thinking of all sorts of things I could do if I was bigger or smaller. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to take a bath the size of a lake? Or play with a doll house that would become the perfect size to live in?
[Mirajane walked her fingers over to Erza, and tapped her on the shoulder with her pinkie finger.]
Look at that, my hand's the perfect size to be your dancing partner! It's too bad you don't have a lover, then you could do some really interesting things like this.
[She's going to spare Erza the dirty thoughts, but the suggestion was probably enough to fluster the poor woman.]
There's all sorts of opportunities to explore, but I guess you lack the imagination to try to take any kind of advantage from this experience.
[She took a handkerchief from her pocket so Erza could use it as a towel.]
If this cake is responsible for shrinking you, perhaps another food can make you grow.
[Action]
She got passed your barrier. { Granted, likely not without help from Marin or possibly Wahl, but still. } But if it was cake... well, I've heard stranger things.
{ What the hell is going on in this city? This was new. He had thought it was Brandish because she's one of the only mages he's aware of who is capable of shrinking someone as powerful as Erza. If someone was capable of enchanting cake with something equivalent to her magic, on top of everything else going on in this city... even Eileen would have difficulty pulling that off. }
Let's just... get back to the Guild before anything worse happens. I'll try to work on a way to reverse this.
[Action]
[She turns to Zeref.] I'm afraid Fairy Haven is not safer than anywhere else in Fayren right now. I guess I could try and use Fairy Sphere around Fairy Haven. ...But who's to say the disturbance that's affecting everything in Fayren wouldn't affect it as well?
For the same reason, I don't think you should try to reverse 'this'. [Because he could actually end up making it worse.] We should probably just make sure Erza stays safe until the magic wears off.
[Action]
[She gladly takes the handkerchief, both to clean herself off and to hopefully (and futilely) hide her embarrassment.] I wasn't aware that this had so many advantages, but I'd still like to turn back to normal.
What would the opposite of cake be? [It was a thought that had briefly crossed Erza's mind, but now she's considering it with utmost seriousness.] It's probably something that tastes horrible... [Why couldn't cake have been the food that brings her back to normal? She'd have no complaints then!]
[Action]
Not many people do at first, it's one of the things you have to think about when you're an S class mage that specializes in transformation magic. Using your magic in ways no one would expect and in ways that can be very powerful without the use of too much magic. For instance, I once convinced a murder of crows to go search the forest for a human structure, so I was able to find a dark guild that was actually protected from human eyes.
[She didn't usually tell Erza about her days doing S class missions, since it seemed almost like another life time ago. Still some of the principles she'd learned still applied to her even now, and one of the best of those being to think outside the box with approaching different situations.]
Now let's seee... you usually like strawberry cheesecake... so probably something dry or bitter... perhaps brussel sprouts?
[Action]
[She gags a little when brussel sprouts are mentioned; she's clearly not a fan.] I hope not. I tried them once, and that was enough. [Granny Hilda, the former Fairy Hills matron, basically had to force-feed brussel sprouts to Erza when she refused to eat them.]
[Action]
[Yup, Erza was now a member of Mirajane's inner circle of confidants.]
Maybe after you and I do that training session I talked about before, we can swap stories. I doubt either one of us will even want to move if we go all out.
[Okay... the way Erza just outright gagged at the idea of the brussel sprouts almost makes Mirajane cackle wickedly. She used to force-feed Elfman and Lisanna their vegetables when they were misbehavning, and the idea of doing that to Erza was hilarious.]
They're very good for you Erza! Though I suppose if you're dead set on saving them for last, another vegetable of some sort might work instead. How do you feel about green beans, cabbage, spinach, mushrooms, onions, carrots, or turnips?
[Action]
...Those last four sound better; I'll try them first. [At least she won't have to be force-fed.]
[Action]
[She laughed as she stood up, getting ready to hit up the kitchen.]
Okay, don't go anywhere! And don't shrink any smaller, I'll be right back!
[Mirajane was fortunately a bit of a wizard in the kitchen
(no pun intended), so it was only a minute or two before she returned with a tray of sauteed mushrooms, onions and turnips, with finely diced carrots. All of which were separated strategically so Erza could tell each one apart.]Okay Erza, say ahhhh.
[She scewered a small piece of carrot on a toothpick, and held it out for Erza to eat.]
[Action]
When Mira returns, holding out the carrot, the tiny redhead stares at her for a few moments.] You're enjoying this, aren't you? [Still, she takes a bite, wanting to get back to normal.]
[Once she's swallowed, she looks around, but everything seems to be the same size.] I don't think that did it. [She takes a look at her hands and pats her hair, but thankfully, eating a carrot didn't turn her into a rabbit.]
[Action]
And why shouldn't I?
[She liked milking any instance when she could be looking down on Erza, even if it was just because she was currently about 4 feet taller. Well okay, it wasn't really looking down on Erza, more like playfully teasing her.]
I suppose not, but at least I still have these delicious sauteed vegies to try as well. Which would you like next, onions, turnips, or mushrooms?
[Action]
[Action]
I understand you don't want to take a risk with something like this, but if you think of anything, I'd be willing to try. I don't think I could be much help to the guild at this size. [Though she'll certainly try her best.]
[Action]
[She skewered a piece of mushroom and handed it to Erza, and tapped her chin thoughtfully.]
You know? This is a very peculiar form of magic. It seems to shrink people and their clothes. While that's rather convenient and all, I have to wonder how food based magic manages to do that. Most potions, or the kind of magic that goes inside the body only effects the body, so I have to wonder if things you're touching would grow or shrink with you. Or perhaps it's only non organics within a certain proximity to you at the time of transformation that change size?
[Mirajane might be thinking about what would happen if you were holding jewelry on you while you turn gigantic.]
[Action]
{ Fairy Sphere being alive is a rather terrifying concept, but not for the reason Erza implied. What if the Curse of Contradictions could be affected in the same way? }
Well... you said this happened if you ate cake, right? Maybe if you eat something else, you'll be returned to normal. { Zeref thinks for a moment. } It punished you for eating your favorite food. What is your least favorite thing to eat?
[Action]
I'm not sure - all of my requip materials shrunk along with me, which is something of a relief. [To demonstrate, she summons a sword that's more comparable to a toothpick and waves it around. She might not be embarrassed by it, at least not as much as most people would, but it would be hard for people to take her seriously if she was running around naked while doll-sized (or worse, giant-sized) because none of her outfits grew along with her.] Magic might work differently in other worlds, but it's still odd that it knows what to shrink. Maybe it's mental, or it's due to how my magic works?
[The theory of magic isn't something that she's overly interested in (seems like a lot of complex reading that wouldn't change how she looks at magic), so she decides to take a bite of the offered mushroom. The effect is immediate, and she's left sitting on the table, fully grown and (mercifully) still clothed.]
...At least I know that's what works. [She looks down at the cake that started all of this. She can still taste the frosting, but she manages to stop herself from picking it up.]
[Action]
[And Mirajane takes a moment to blink in surprise when Erza almost instantly grows back to her proper size, impressed that it managed to work that fast!]
Well, now we know the antidote... though I wonder if it merely restores you to your original state of being, or it makes you larger. I think I may have to take these for experimentation.
[Don't mind her Erza, she just enjoys studying magic now and then... and she's pretty sure that if she left the cake lying around someone else might try some, or Erza might be tempted again.]
[Action]
...Do you think that this effect might spread if we went to other cities? Then again, I'm not even sure if the portals work in this state, so it might not even be a concern.
[Action]
[That was of course assuming this crisis would blow over, but Mirajane was an optimist.]
