[In one of the pods, a mess of long, ginger hair was sprawled about. At first, Futaba thought she was just in some weirdo dream, but the moment she sat up in the pod, she realized that she'd seen this place before. It took her a few moments with her fatigue to realize just why that was.]

Woah! This is not what I expected to see when I woke up!

[Glancing around a bit.]

This is.... Genessia..? Why am I back here?

[When the feed turned on, people will see a nice bed head as she put on her glasses lying next to her.]

I guess I did see something about people leaving and coming back last time, but I didn't think it would happen to me as well... Welp, I guess anything goes here.

Akira? Haru? Are you guys here? .... ..... [A small pause before] ....Akechi...?

Um... If you are... Can you come pick me up? That would be... really appreciated. Thanks.

[She'll have to put up with this ridiculous conversation until he gets there.]

[Oh... So he's still here... Well, at least he's still okay(?). With seeing what happened to him back at Shido's Palace, she felt a little bad for him. She still found it hard to trust him, but well.... she'd only found out a fraction of what he was going through in his life and as someone who's been through bullshit herself, she couldn't help but sympathize a little. He must have suffered a lot more than she did; Even though she had a hard time with the death of her mother, she still had Sojiro who cared about her... and then later her friends to rely on. He didn't seem to have that outlet.

That's good to hear. He's on his way here. [Thank god. That makes her pause for a moment.] I... have no idea. I mean... It's a weird feeling. It feels like I was just here upon coming back but a lot has happened back home since the last time. I remember more than before... I'm not exactly sure how to gauge what's going on at the moment.

[ He's sincerely relieved that Akira is around. He really didn't want to have to go get her. The word 'awkward' would have been a complete understatement for the interaction that would follow, if her first arrival was anything to go on. Haru's there too but he's in closer proximity and making her wait alone for too long would have been rude. Futaba likely shares the same opinion on the matter, he thinks. ]

Remember more? I see... [ A sympathetic frown. ] That must be incredibly disorienting. If it helps for reference, it's the end of September on the Genessian calendar now. What was going on back home, if you're willing to share?

[Well... That does put it in perspective... But should she really tell him what happened to him? Maybe she could just skip that part?]

Well... Akira was really alive for starters. We managed to steal Shido's treasure and Akira was free from his detainment. He was going to go home, but then we took him for a detour first.

[ He feels like the air just got sucked out of the room. Hands balled up. Trying so very hard to maintain composure but all of the color might have drained from his face. Eyes narrowing slightly. Don't crack. This is public. Is she messing with him right now? That didn't really happen, did it? Starting from the top, Akira's alive - so he failed. That means someone knew what he was going to do. Did. He was tricked. He feels numb. Dizzy. Conflicted on that issue.

But he can't think about it too long because it had to get followed up with HIM. Shido. What was he doing during that? He wouldn't just let that happen. That's not how things are supposed to go. Stealing from him is letting him off too easy. He was supposed to be humiliated and die. Suffer. Akechi had worked too hard to just have them come in and do that.

How would they even know to go for Shido? Would they draw their own conclusions? Did they use him for that? He can't see himself ever telling them. The man didn't even want him saying his name over the ph- He's staring at her until it clicks and he puts his eyes downcast. Phones. Phones. Son of a bitch. He wants to scream. This isn't fair. Why would he allow that?

Him helping with this doesn't make sense. Them allowing him to stick around doesn't make sense. This entire scenario she stated so simply like it was the truest fact in the world doesn't make sense. She's fucking with him, right? When did she get good at lying? Tight mask on his face. Just smile. Strained. Tight. He forgets to breathe. ]

How exciting. [ He's having a panic attack. He wants to destroy his phone. How do you turn this off- ] I suppose he got cleared of his charges then? That's ...great. [ FUCK. ]

[He was usually so good at hiding his real thoughts and intentions, but seeming as Futaba knew all of his tricks by now, it wasn't hard to see that he was taking this hard. It was... partially the reason why she tried to keep it vague, but to the point at the same time.

She was silent for a moment while trying to search for the right words to use.]

I hope you know that... I know everything that happened.... with your involvement. And despite the stuff you did.... I think we could have been friends or at least allies... I guess the idea of that is laughable for you at this point though. I just... I don't want to hold a grudge... None of us do.

I understand why you did the things you did, even if I can't say they were the right thing to do. I can't support your ideals and I'm not saying that mental shutdowns is something I can condone. Maybe we can... at least start over. We're not home anyways so what's going on with the Metaverse has nothing to do with us while we're here.

[She really hoped that would at least.... just make it easier to cut to the chase. There was no sense in pretending she didn't know about his plans.]

Akira is alive and well. He's cleared of all of his charges and Shido is behind bars and forced to repent for his actions. If it makes you feel any better, he's become quite a hated man since the reveal.

[ Screaming wouldn't cut it. He's so ...angry. Is it anger? He isn't sure what he's feeling but he can pick out furious. He can't play dumb. Pretend she doesn't know what she's talking about. Innocent until proven guilty and all that. She knows everything. Exposed like a raw nerve. Take his heart and slapped it down on a table and gestured at it. See? We knew everything. This should have been a private conversation. Said to his face. Maybe it was easier for say because she knows he's elsewhere. Isolated. He can't do a damn thing. ]

Don't want to hold a grudge... [ He repeats the words with a slight hitch in breath. Like he was going to laugh at it but couldn't get it out. ] ...Are you idiots? [ That came out a little venomous, his grip on things letting it slip out. Well. There it is. She's right. That's laughable. She should hate him. He thinks he might hate her. He hated all of them. Why would he let them collect Shido's treasure? What the hell was he thinking? Was he even there? Nothing they would have said would talk him off of it. Where was he?

Everyone must have lied to his face the entire time. How ironic. ]

I suppose that's a positive note to come out of it. [ Off too easy. Too easy. That man deserved so much more than to simply be hated and locked in what is probably considered a comfortable cell. His mouth tastes sour. His head hurts. ]

I've underestimated you. [ Put a layer of computer between them and the truth comes out that she might be a mastermind herself. The biggest balls here and someone far more honest than the others, it seems. He doubts Haru or Akira would have said a damn thing here. They would have kept hiding it from him. Letting him make a damn fool of himself. Pretending there's any sort of camaraderie while waiting for him to slip up.
