I will keep my queries brief, and I would appreciate it if the answers supplied in kind were kept succinct.

[Funny how her appreciation sounds a lot more like an irrefutable demand. Her head inclines slightly as if to indicate gratitude, though vocally she gives none.]

First, I would like a status update on what is being done to remove ourselves from this situation. Is there an organized effort. Are studies being conducted.

[No questions, just statements that require explanation.]

Second, I would like a list of names of those who have been within this realm the longest, including the date of arrival. If you were able to return to your home at any point, whether through the Dream Docks or other methods, I would also like a summary of what you experienced.

Third, and last, I wish to know the structure of your emergency response personnel. If there is a breach in the barriers, who responds? What kind of leadership has been set in place for such events?

[Her chin lifts imperiously as a means of indicating that her orders requests are given in completion.]

How long have you been a part of this world?

[No formal greetings, no 'how nice it is to see you's. This is no time for pleasantries as far as Winter is concerned.]

I'm working on organizing it, if you must know. I'm an archivist. I'm loathe to attempt acting on it, as it is, as yet, oncomplete. Working with incomplete information when dealing with interdimensional and intersteller travel seems foolhardy at best, multiverse shattering at worst. Whomever brought us here knew exactly what they were doing. We know nothing.

[He shook his head.]

I do not, but departure to where? It's difficult to determine a course when the origin is unknown. We know this place is called Genessia, we know there are archways from it that lead to other cities. We do not know whether or not those archways lead to another room, as a door in a house would, or if they transfer us hundreds or even thousands of miles. Considering we are all from different planets, it's even possible their transference is through space. I realize the trip is instantaneous, but it's possible your trip here was as well. There are far far too many unknowns at this point, even for those who have been trapped here for years.

You don't have transmitters that indicate the distance of a subject being tracked? I assume that would solve your archway problem fairly easily.

As it happens, I do not, though if we assume I am correct, and there is some distance between one side of an archway and the other, bearing in mind the transportation is instantaneous to the point of imperceptible, I would move we are transported momentarily though another plane of existence. These transmitters would do little to measure distance as the very nature of the portals in question is fluid.

[He smirks slightly.]

It is a theory easily proved, or disproved. Perhaps you should make the attempt before dismissing such a relatively simple solution entirely.

I'll take your recommendation into consideration. That being said, I'll most likely exhaust my own research methods before attempting another.

My recommendation to you is to become acclimated and leave the discoveries to those who already are. We've been managing quite well without your direction, after all.
