If you were to obtain the position of Fayren's guardian, your military might would be far stronger when dealing with potential threats. The gateway that leads to Beacon can provide you with Dust. In addition, the royal guard of which I am in command may only be utilized by the king and the Fayren Guardian. While they could, theoretically, be transported, doing so would be time-consuming as each individual would need to be passed personally through the Archway, and into another.

While I would certainly not wish to cast disparity upon Nova City as a technological resource, current political tensions would almost certainly hinder your well-intentioned efforts.
