Page 1 - [Video/Action]

[The video stream comes on and a new face appears. It seems that there are a lot of new people around as of late, but she's not exactly new. She's finally gotten enough strength to actually be able to move around fairly normally and of course there was the issue with her husband.]

I think I finally understand this contraption.

[That was mostly said to herself. Someone's had to explain the devices to her and she's been intrigued with them for a long time.]

Hello. I am Lisa Tepes, and I want to apologize about the commotion that my husband caused upon my first arrival.

I did not know what had happened after...[She pauses, unsure of how to phrase things.] after I was captured by the church and how it had changed him.

[She sighs a bit.]

I'm afraid that I am not able to venture too far from the castle at the moment, but I do want to learn more about this place and how science has advanced since Targoviste.

[She gives another smile and ends the feed.

[Action, later on]

[Lisa is still using a cane to help her get around, but she's moving a lot better than she was upon first arrival. She's working on figuring out the lay of the land outside the castle in the Everglade.

She wasn't alone though. Annoyingly enough what appears to be a large wolf can be seen some distance behind her as if stalking easy pray. It doesn't come closer to her, no matter how many stops she makes to look at a plant or something else. Lisa knows its there and she's rather annoyed.

She sighs after a short while and turns to the creature.]

I am perfectly safe out here. I'm not far from the castle. GO HOME.

[Yes, she's ordering around a warg that's almost as tall as she is.]

"Perhaps I can assist instead, Lady Tepes?" Sakuya had a bad habit of just appearing out of nowhere, but she did her best to keep her voice soft to hopefully avoid startling Lisa. She did have a hand ready to catch her just in case.

"It has been quite hectic these past few weeks and I understand your desire to no longer be cooped up. Especially considering how much you have recovered. However, you are still not steady and I do not want you to fall on this uneven ground."

[She has a second tail, one that's a little better at keeping himself concealed - or so he believes, anyway. Odds are good she's familiar enough with Vlad's stalking habits to recognize when someone else employs them.]

Hello, Lisa, I'm the Doctor, don't think we've met, don't think I've met your husband, either, sorry, are you quite all right..?

[He'd started out smiling brightly, all cheer and innocence and a face like a nine year old, but he leans in to peer at the video feed as though searching her for symptoms ~~or tells~~. He puts the smile right back on after a couple seconds, though, obviously getting a bit excited.]

...and you said castle, which castle's that, then? Love a castle, have you got turrets? The good sort, not the shoot-y sort.

[Unlike certain people, Alucard actually wasn't actively following Lisa. He had certainly made a beeline straight back to the Castlevania when he had found himself back in this world, and it was to his relief to know that his mother was still safe. Perhaps his father had finally smartened up. ... perhaps.

He would still remain close to the subarchway that led to Castlevania, as most of his time spent here so far upon his return was ensuring Dracula wasn't going to do anything stupid again, so hearing the voice of his mother scolding a warg wouldn't slip past him. A warg that he can only imagine wouldn't be very happy to see him, but he won't let that kind of weak creature stand between him and his mother.]

It's good to see you well, Mother.

[He sounded more relieved than he meant to let on.]

You mustn't take responsibility for Father's actions. He should be the one doing such.

[Not that Dracula will. Still, Alucard had strong feelings about Lisa's message to the network earlier. She shouldn't have to apologize for what she couldn't control.]

She was starting to get used to Sakuya's sudden appearances, but it was still a bit startling for her. She didn't jump, but there was still a slight flinch. She gave her a small, slightly annoyed smile.

"I've been moving around a lot better than I have been. It may be safer inside, but I can take care of myself." Stubborn till the end.

[She knows you're there, Soma, but she's not going to call it out for now. She's just going to continue on her walk.]

[To his credit, there's a legitimate reason for him to be there. And it isn't because he doesn't think she can handle herself. She proved she could do that when she walked into Vlad's castle with nothing but the clothes on her back. No; his motive for not just... walking up and talking to her is altogether more awkward. He doesn't know how to approach her, being who and what he is.]

I am healing as well as one can with the help of...magic? I don't really believe in it much, but the church was trying to burn me at the stake.

[She shakes her head and runs a hand through her hair.]

My husband is Vlad Tepes, and the castle is in the Everglades I believe? I'm still getting used to this place. Its an old castle and there are a few turrets.

It was my arrival that started everything, Adrian.

[She smiled at her son and stepped closer to him. It was good to see him again.]

I'm just glad that he was able to be stopped. Its not this place's fault that the church did what it did back home.

[She sighed and shook her head.]

How have you been?

Ohhh, yes, right, they do that sort of a thing a lot, at times, don't they...

[He sighs, making the most exasperated face like he just can't get these kids to stop causing trouble. He raises his eyebrows at that name, though, with a sort of oddly quirky smile.]

...Vlad Tepes, though, really, int'resting, might have a pay a visit, well, if you're up for visitors, that is, haven't seen a Wallachian castle since, ohh, blimey, must've been the 15th century, some of the best turrets you'll find, you know, very picturesque, what time's good for you, then, shall we say six o'clock?

[Sorry, he's a bit of a fast-talker...]

[Its only awkward if you let it be, Soma. Lisa's not going to hurt you. She also doesn't bite. She still doesn't say anything. She's going to let you speak up first.]

[It's silly, and he knows it. But he can't get over the fact that he has memories of her.]

...This isn't getting either of us anywhere.

[She is a bit overwhelmed, but its nothing she can't take in stride. She takes a breath and thinks about things for a moment.]

It was the year of the Lord 1475 when I was captured by the church in Targoviste, a town in Wallachia.

Six is fine. Do be careful. There are creatures here that are...rather protective.

[This little face might surprise Lisa (or perhaps not, considering all the creatures that live in Castlevania.]

Um...hello. I hope you're not afraid of me... I wasn't involved in what happened with your...hus-band? [She pronounces each syllable, like she's unfamiliar with the word.]

As for science...I'm not sure how it's evolved. These devices...we didn't have these where I come from either.

Ohh, right, good year, well... not for Wallachia, I s'pose, coached Narciso Vinyoles in chess, though, decent student, a bit dramatic.

Anyway, good, six it is, then, and don't worry, I've met a creature or two before, lots of them, really, although, I wouldn't mind if you could put a word in as the woman in charge, best to avoid a misunderstanding, yeah?

"Your mobility is why I'm not escorting you back inside, Lady Tepes. It's good for you to stretch your legs to prevent yourself from weakening too severely. But, please understand that we're all still very concerned for your well-being. What you recovered from was not small."

Sorry Lisa. She's just doing her job.

"I will leave you be if you so desire it, but I doubt the warg will depart if that is the case. This castle is stubbornly committed to protecting you. I merely am offering my services for a time if you find my company an agreeable alternative at this time."

She most certainly wouldn't be offended if Lisa chose the warg or whatever other creature Dracula had lined up to protect her. But giving Lisa some degree of choice is what mattered.

[ It's not as if Remilia herself was a little worried about Lisa going out on her own. She's just in the vicinity and doing her rounds which jut happens to follow Lisa's route. ]

Her wanderings would take her close enough to a small looking storefront in Everglade. Wandering outside, however, is a sleek, pitch black fox-like creature with yellow rings that first regards Lisa with some curiosity and then the warg behind her, which annoys it. It glares pretty strongly, but to Lisa it's obvious that its attention is not on her.

Should the warg go away, it will cease its Mean Look and simply trot away in annoyance.

But either way, the store's door would open, and a young lady would peer outside. "Yuunagi?" Though she could feel the tension, Lisa's presence takes greater priority. "Oh! Hello there! Are you interested in charms?"

"I understand. I am lucky to be alive. I never expected to survive the church. I am happy to learn that they have changed a bit in the years since Targoviste," she said, stopping to look at a small flower.

"Things were so different back then. So much simpler, yet so much more complicated." She looked over at Sakuya with a small smile. "I hate feeling helpless. I want to help people as much as I can."

[She nods and gives him a small smile]

It is rather odd. I wouldn't believe any of it had I not been witness to it.

The creatures will leave you be as long as you don't appear to be a threat to the castle or those who live here.

I may be the Lady here, but I don't fully understand everything.

[How curious. She smiles at the screen and nods a bit. She is always wanting to learn of things and people and creatures.]

Vlad has a bit of a temper.

[That is an understatement]

I come from a time long past. Nothing like this was even thought of.

[She nods to Familia when she sees her.]

Hello, Miss Scarlet.

[She understood that she needed to patrol the area and that she hadn't been sent by the castle.]

She watched the creature wiith curiosity before it trotted off. Her attention then turned to the girl.

"I'm afraid that I don't believe in charms or things of that sort. I never have," she said with a friendly smile.

"I am just getting to know the area outside of the castle. I've been cooped up in there for too long."

The warg having left was replaced with a bat that was fluttering high above.

Though Konoka seemed at first confused on why she wouldn't believe in charms, it eventually clicked... before she mentioned the castle, anyway.

"Castle... you mean Castlevania?" Konoka had to school her reaction to make sure she didn't come off unfriendly, but even then her smile dropped. "My condolences. Though at least it seems Dracula and the residents don't coop people up, even through my experience."

But talk about Castlevania seemed stiff, so Konoka waved it off. "Anyway, I take it you haven't seen magic, have you? Don't worry, most people who practice it prefer it be kept a secret, at least where I come from. Genessia itself lets me ignore those rules for the benefit of others."

"Vlad never could keep me in there for too long. I preferred to be close to people so I could help them," she said with a small shake of her head.

"I'm starting to come to terms with different kinds of magic. I just never believed it back in Wallachia. There was always some way to explain what was going on without using magic," she continued.

"Where are my manners. I am Lisa Tepes."

[ She's still going to be keeping an eye on her. ]

Shouldn't you be resting?

"They have changed. Quite a bit, really. Though they are still quite zealous at times depending on where you are and whom you speak with."

Sakuya stopped when Lisa did, allowing her to examine the flower and ensuring she didn't block any light.

"It is a trait we share. Nothing in this world I hate more than feeling ill or injured. But this is also why you must take more care, Lady Tepes. Hurting yourself further will only increase your recovery time... It is unfortunate Meiling isn't here with us. She had many remedies that did wonders to sooth pain and help one relax."

First name basis? Yep. This must be Dracula's wife.

Adding that to the category of "things that will blow her mind as soon as she has a chance to actually process them", Konoka decided that being a good host was more important. "Konoka Konoe. Pleased to meet you! I run this little shop in Everglade. I also use it as a base to help those who need healing... a separate thing from my charms. Want to come inside?"

The black creature, apparently Yuunagi, was back again, hovering near the door. The bat probably wouldn't be getting inside, hope it doesn't mind a window seat.

A temper? That's not good. I don't know what happened, but...I hope he's calmed down.

[It's probably a good thing she wasn't involved, because she hasn't fully developed her power yet.]

I don't think I'm from that long ago. I'm only...I mean...I'll be two years old in December...

[And it strikes her just how long she's been here.]

Perhaps one day dragonkind will be able to build devices like these back home...they're so convenient.

[If everyone in her clan had one, she'd be able to find out if they survived the recent attack.]

I'm from a time when man has set foot on the moon and plans to do the same on Mars, and I'm still not sure how much I believe. [He sighs.] I'm sorry. We haven't... really been properly introduced. My name is Soma.

Ha, yeah, well, you're in good company, there. Anyway, good, sounds like my favorite sort of creature.

She finished looking at the flower, it wasn't familiar to her, but she was sure that she would be able to find information on the flora that she had never seen before. Getting information was a lot easier now than it had ever been and she was fascinated by it.

"I am doing my best to take things easy. I still tire quickly and I can't move as quickly as I usually could."

She looked around for a moment. "It would probably be best to start heading back."

It is nice to get to talk with you again, Soma. I want to thank you for helping bring Vlad back to his senses.

[That was rough, but she's glad Vlad isn't trying to kill her again.]

I'm just glad we all made it through in one piece - relatively speaking, of course.

[He wasn't sure 'gaping chest wound' counted as one piece or not.]

He'll never admit it, but he needs you. You... balance him. Remind him that not all of humanity is his enemy by default. Without you, he is a ship without a compass.

He's as stubborn as I am. It took me years to get him to finally go see the world. I was glad when he did, but then...Targoviste.

[She shook her head.]

I'm glad to see the Church has changed some in the years since then.

I know. It was that stubbornness that enabled him to survive for as long as he did, even after being struck down time after time.

[He sighs, and rubs at the back of his neck awkwardly.]

I'm not so sure the Church changed all that much. It was the people, really. They got tired of living in the dark, being hunted by shadows and things they couldn't even begin to explain. Science has become its own religion, and it has followers every bit as devout as any church. It has wrought great things, true, but also terrible ones. Weapons capable of destroying cities at a stroke, and worse.

"Understood." Sakuya stepped forward after smoothing her apron, offering Lisa her arm if she'd like to lean on it instead of on the cane.

"Would you like some tea once we are back inside Lady Tepes? Mayhap some sweets?" Those weren't the only options. Lisa knew Sakuya would prepare whatever she wanted.

"And, if you so desire, I will speak to Lord Tepes about escorting you around the cities if you would like to see them. There are transport services I can contact who would be quite willing to bring you wherever you desired to go."
