[ action | closed ] command me to be well
Tannusen waited, as promised, just on the edge of where the hospital might start to have an effect on him. Phone in hand, listening to the open line to make sure nothing could possibly happen to Cassian... he only started to relax again once the priest was back out of the building; once he could see him on the sidewalk.
Only then did he hang up the phone, standing up from the bench he'd been occupying for the duration of the visit.

Along with this came a nebulizer, something he was also less than happy to have around, of which was jammed at Tannusen.
Not to give him, no.
He had complaints.
"It sounds like a car engine and I hate it."
no subject
Inhalers, he'd seen before. This thing looked like it worked along the same lines but a... little more extensive.
no subject
"And durin' certain parts of the day. Regular treatment, the inhaler's just for when I get tight." The inhaler he was a little more familiar with, but he still didn't look happy, fiddling around with it.
"I don't like it. Smells awful, tastes awful, looks awful, and if some prick-" Some Ted shaped prick- "Sees me walkin' 'round with this strapped to me side I'm gonna have to shoot their brains out cos I'll never hear the end of the wheezy jokes."
no subject
"Well, I'll be sure to be home around the times you should use it, then. I'm sure I can make it a little more bearable?" Tannusen offered with a smile, before reaching up to unwind the scarf he'd been wearing from around his neck, offering it to Cass.

"Should have asked for a new set o'lungs." But hey, both of them knew he wasn't about to attempt that.
Instead, he sought out Tannusen's hand, wrapping his fingers lightly around the other mans.
"Bloody hate fall."
Yep, yeah he's in a sour mood. Sorry, Tannusen.
no subject
Tannusen couldn't help the reflexive glance around them at the hand grab, but he certainly didn't complain, fingers squeezing Cassian's. "Let's... move away from the hospital, considering neither of us are exactly fans of it."
no subject
The 1800's seemed like they had happened just yesterday for him, after all. Hard to believe things have come so far.
"Aye, lets be off."
Though even as he walked, his head met Tannusen's arm, a motion far more clingy than the other man had ever usually been willing to show in public.
no subject
"You're alright, Cass," the tiger, of course, said it quietly enough to stay private.
no subject
Now, however. Now it was different.
He let himself be directed towards a bench, more than happy to sit down far, far outside the hospital.
"Aye, of course I am. ... Just a doctor's visit, after all." Millions of people saw a doctor every day, he was no different.
"... Just bein' irrational, 'tis all." With his head and body resting against Tannusen now, taking in a deep breath of the fall air, letting out another dry wheeze.
"Nothin' anyone should be concerned about."
no subject
The Faerie didn't mind at all if Cassian showed him this side of himself. Made him feel a little helpful; maybe a little less of a burden for the moment.
no subject
"Nae, Tannusen. It isn't. Everyone needs some proppin' up once in a while, no man is perfect. I'm glad ye came with me... I need ye here."
It took a bit for him to figure the inhaler out, they made it look so stupidly simple in the office-
There.
Though the priest didn't quite seem to fully understand the concept of holding that breath in, harshly exhaling that medicine right back out again with a slew of curses.
"I hate it!"
no subject
"Aren't you supposed to hold it in?" Look, he'd been around people using those things before! He was from a modern Earth too, after all.
no subject
"Right, hold it in then..." Another fumbling attempt to get it right, before another dose was administered and this time, he held it for a good long moment, before letting out a stuttering breath.
"Aye that's... bit better." Things loosening up a bit more, his breathing easing slowly. A sigh and he slumped against Tannusen again.
"... Thank ye, truly, for comin' with me, Tannusen. I'd... never of come without ye."
no subject
Yes, waiting just outside and having their phones essentially on speaker meant he knew the priest was safe, but. But. Cassian's fears wouldn't be totally eased, he knew, but anything he could do to help...
no subject
He didn't want to force any more damage upon him.
"The phone works fine, Tannusen. I'll be alright."
He moved to rest his hand upon the one at his shoulder, tracing gently over his knuckles.
no subject
"I just want to help. You understand that, I'm sure..."
Maybe he could send someone else with him in person? It had to be someone trustworthy. But who? Jethro wouldn't work, for a variety of reasons. Szel would never do it, or would make things worse for the human without even having to try. Dorian? He didn't know Dorian well enough to ask, really. The tree had vanished, as had Tektite from the bar -- not that she'd have been great moral support anyway.
...
"Well, at least there's phones," the tiger added, watching strangers go by. They weren't in a super secluded area, near the hospital still and all.
no subject
Close could happen after. It already was, after all, now curling his fingers around the other mans.
"Aye, there's phones, and there's video chat. The only thing missin' is havin' ye hold me hand." There's a bit of a chuckle behind that at least. "I'll be already, Tannusen. I promise ye. I'll be alright."
no subject
Look, would he be him if he didn't tease at least a bit?
no subject
If Tannusen has to tease, Cassian has to snipe back. Look, it's just how things are. He doesn't budge an inch from him though, his head resting gently on Tannusen's shoulder.
"I gotta wear it before bed, then it's lights out. I can't sleep with this thing on me."
no subject
no subject
Though it was followed up by a quick, tender kiss on the jaw.
"Gonna have to start rememberin' my coat and scarf from now on. Bloody hate fall and I bloody hate winter. Completely useless seasons."
no subject
Whelp.
So, this was happening.
no subject
Well, up he went with an indignant squawk of surprise, clinging to Tannusen in alarm and surprise for just a moment before the yelling started.
"YE DAMNEDABLE FOOL CAT, PUT ME DOWN, I CAN WALK BY ME DAMN SELF!"
no subject
"Is yelling how you keep from freezing? You'd go absolutely hoarse in Canada."
no subject
There's a great deal of squirming and thumping upon Tannusen's back, the curses devolving into Irish before he just... flops over on his shoulder.
Fine.
"If your goal is to make me shout meself silent what so I cannot complain at ye anymore, well played."
