[Action] I NEED A HERO
Who: David and YOU!
Where: around Genessia City
When: Any time during the event! Feel free to specify a day or leave it vague, though prompt A is specifically for Friday the 13th.
What: David is a non-combatant in a very monster-infested city and good lord will someone please save this man
Warnings: None that come to mind, maybe violence? Will update as needed.
THERE ARE TWO PROMPTS TO CHOOSE FROM so please specify which!
A.
[ As you make your way through the streets of Genessia, you may hear a painfully high, monstrously long shriek. Is it a banshee, releasing its dark magics upon an unsuspecting soul? Or does it sound more to you like a young girl, screaming in panc for someone to come save her? Whether you charge towards the sound looking for a fight or looking to rescue someone in need, you’ll be satisfied!
Kind of!
David, the nature-loving nut that he is, was enjoying a night under the stars, blissfully unaware that this Friday the 13th would live up to its spooktacular hype by summoning a pack of monstrous wolves to surround the park he was stargazing at. That was the source of the first scream, released as he scrambled up a tree to try and get out of their reach. It works!
Kind of!
Because now one of the wolves is starting to chew through the tree trunk, and he has no idea how long it’ll be before he’s sent plummeting into their waiting jaws. So, guess what? Another scream!
Please save him, for his sake as well as everybody’s eardrums. ]
B.
[ In spite of narrowly escaping death on Friday, David (bless his stupid heart) can’t just sit by while others are in danger. Use this prompt to find him in any number of predicaments throughout the city!
Being carried away by harpies? Go for it!
Chased by the headless horseman? Sure!
Tied up and hauled off by imps? Absolutely!
Seriously go nuts, the sky’s the limit as far as what kind of shitty situation David is trapped in. ]

She had heard the shrill scream each night but this the first time she actually managed to find the source of it.
It was a guy being chased by what looked to her like all the back up dancers from Thriller.
She's perched up on a rooftop when David comes running by. She fires a web line at his back to pull him up and away from all the monsters. Though the huge spiderweb might not ease his fears until he looks up to see the hooded superhero.
Don't mind her as she hums the tune to monster mash as she hoists him up.]
no subject
A third time, as--
Oh.
He cuts himself off abruptly at the sight of not a monstrous maw but a hooded heroine, blinking away the tears of fright that had been threatening to spill. ]
You're... not going to suddenly transform or anything, are you? If you are, just don't do it while I'm looking.
no subject
And another pull brings him a foot further from danger and closer to her.]
I think you're good. I don't usually sprout extra arms or turn into a giant spider unless I'm really hungry.
[Joking around like that while trying to save his life probably isn't one of her best decisions.]
Lucky for you, I just ate.
[Another pull and he's about on eye level with her now. The monsters below are clawing at the wall though.]
Urge to go down and kick some monster butt is pretty high though.
no subject
…
Wait, did she say she wanted to go down there? ]
Um, I appreciate your help, miss… spider? Lady? Spider Lady, but I really don’t think there’s any good reason to put yourself in danger by going down there. You could really get hurt!
[ says the dude who was DOWN THERE in the FIRST PLACE ]
no subject
Wasn't he just-
-Oh great she's dealing with another one of those.]
Spider-Woman, but I'm not going to deny that Spider Lady has a nice ring to it.
I can take of myself, trust me.
But just what were you doing down there?
no subject
[ He lowers his gaze a little, looking pretty sheepish. ]
I know it’s dangerous too, but I can’t do nothing while people are in trouble. I guess I was hoping to find someone who needed help to lead them to safety.
Didn’t exactly pan out that way, huh.
no subject
No, but I can respect your intent. I was basically doing the same thing.
Hope you don't mind the role reversal thing.
no subject
[ Ha ha ha ha no but seriously thank you for not letting me die ]
I’m David. Thanks for getting me out of there, Spider La-- sorry, Woman! It’s so great to meet kind-hearted individuals looking out for the well-being of others.

[Just doing her job, citizen]
It's a pleasure David.
[There's a brief pause and she almost looked a little confused. She wasn't used to getting thanked for her worked. She was kind of public enemy number 1 where she comes from.]
Yeah. Well you know. We all have to look after one another, right?
Soooooo... Were you planning on doing anymore rescue work here? Or are you about ready to call it a night?
no subject
[ At her question he hesitates, looking down at the monsters below. ]
... Well, I think there's not much I can do on my own, but... what if we worked together? Maybe there's more we could accomplish as a team!
no subject
I could always use an extra set of eyes. How about I handle the dangerous stuff? If we run into anyone else out there, you can lead them to safety?
Sound like a plan?
no subject
Can do! I think that David guy - not me, obviously, haha! - mentioned there are safety stations being set up, right? If you can really keep the monsters busy, I can help everyone else!
no subject
Distraction is my middle name. We got this.
Now I'm going to need you to hold on tight, okay?
[Because she's about sling him over her shoulder.
...And then jump off the building.]
no subject
[ it's like "turn down for what" but way more terrified!
But no worries, he is definitely holding on for dear life as she jumps.
And screaming all the way down.
He's really good at that part. ]
no subject
Plus she couldn't help but mess with him a little.
After a little of a free fall she launched the first webline to the next building and they moved into more of a swing. Then when they reached the height of that swing, there was a quick jump as she released that line and spun another to swing.
A bit of a wonky ride compared to her normal trips, but it did the trick.]
Okay... We have some mummies... A dracula....
See Any people around?
B
Which meant David was going to get to see the side of her she'd been keeping from him- the violent side. She might not be as hard-hitting as Mercury or as effective on her own, but against a stupid monster who was just yelling too loudly? It didn't take her more than a few seconds to get the thing on its back, Emerald's knees digging painfully into its shoulders to pin it down as she slowly dug her scythe into its throat, careful to make sure to get its voice box. ]
Scream now.
[ The cold look in her eyes wasn't at all like one of the times she'd felt regret, and as she stood up she fired a few shots into the thing's shins. She didn't kill it. It was just going to bleed out on the ground without being able to scream. That was the kind of mood she was in, and she honestly wasn't ready to pretend everything was okay around David right now even as she looked back at him. She didn't ask if he was okay, instead just staring at him and waiting for him to react however it was he would to his girlfriend(? occasional date?) not mercy-killing a creature and standing up with its blood on her hands. ]
no subject
what is she holding.
His voice catches in his throat as she assaults the monster, gratitude giving way to uncertainty as she doesn't kill it but mutilates it, and if he had a bit more presence of mind he might be ill. But he just stands, staring slack-jawed, until two words fall from his lips that he's really glad no campers are near enough to hear: ]
Holy shit.
[ AHEM. He takes a careful step towards her, trying not to watch the monster bleed out as he frowns. ]
E-Emerald, are you... are you alright?
i meant sickles not scythe but really what are sickles but tiny scythes...
I'm not dying. That thing will be, or it'll come back for vengeance later and I might be in a better mood and actually kill it. What are you doing out here?
[ She sounds annoyed. Not that she's.. protecting him, but she's not going to let him die. What's that about? Weird. Fuck you David. ]
no subject
This wasn't fighting. This was an execution, if even that. ]
I was... looking for people who might be in danger?
[ Thus putting himself... in danger... ]
Is that why you're here, too? To protect the helpless?
no subject
[ She didn't get it. Someone she cared about, sure. She'd clearly demonstrated she gave enough shits about Mercury to get her ass kicked, have the doctors yell at her for leaving too soon, and just-- lose everything. She clearly got that, and all it had done was make things worse, but strangers weren't even worth trying. She barely knew why she bothered to save David at this point more than she just wanted to hurt something, and she knew him. Emerald looked away for a moment, shaking her sickle to sling some of the blood off of the blade onto the ground. ]
I'm here because there's nothing better to do. [ That's a lie. She's here because she has no where else to go. She's burned every bridge that seemed remotely like it could be real and then the only person she'd ever thought she had a home with... ] Lucky you. Go home.
A? A.
And the wolves, those are very hard to miss from inside their safe little tent.
So with their worn dagger in hand, Chara heads towards the sound of David and wolves, doing their best to not catch the attention of the beasts. That is until they see the ridiculous scene of wolves chewing on a tree to get at... Oh that's the oddly chipper guy that knows Max, may as well help.]
Hey dumb mutts, over here!
[Sure, they're making themselves a target but Chara is pretty sure they can handle this.]
no subject
Scared as he is, he's not about to just let that happen.
So he jumps out of the fucking tree. ]
RUN, KID, RUN!
no subject
And promptly drew the wolves attention away from them to him.
Another thing to add to why Chara hates humans, good job David.]
I can fight, you moron.
[As they go after a wolf that's still near them in some vain attempt to keep the adult here from getting mauled to death.]
B
Are you use to the whole damsel in distress thing?
A
As soon as she hears them, she takes to the sky and flies in the direction of the repeated screams as fast as she can. She still can't see the source of the cries but she can certainly see the pack of wolves surrounding the trees. She wastes no time casting Holy Judgement on them and picking off the one straggler with a Ray Thrust. She lands on the ground and looks up at the tree, finally spotting her damsel in distress.]
Are you okay? Do you need help getting down?
[Congratulations, David. You've been saved by an angelic pirate.]
