Hey guys! [Oh look, it’s Dove, hanging out on the balcony, swirling a glass of what looks to be sparkly wine.] Sorry in advance for the weird broadcast, but bear with me. I just need to get it off my chest. [It’s a happy video. She’s smiling. Everything is fine.]
With all the Pokemon showing up, it hit me that I’ve been here… well over a year now and didn’t even realize it, and that… even with all the weird ups and downs…[She makes a quick face as though there have been quite a lot.] …it’s honestly been one of the best years I’ve had in a long, long while. [She laughs a breath, almost as if she can’t really believe it now that she’s started thinking so much about it.]And… I’m so extremely grateful for it. Things at home weren’t exactly great, and here I’ve had the freedom to actually do the things I’m good at. I’ve somehow made the best friends a girl could have, fallen… in and out of love, and I’ve never had to hide my wings or make decisions for anyone but myself. I never thought I’d be willingly getting up at daybreak to have my butt kicked, or ever experience having fins or even enjoy going underwater at all, but… here we are. I haven’t felt this free in years, and it’s such a beautiful feeling finding people to open up to and I just…
[She shakes her head, knowing full well that she’s getting off track. She needs to hop back on it before she derails entirely.] I guess what I really want to say is just… Thank you. To my employers, fans, acquaintances, neighbors, and everyone in between, thank you. To my friends… I love you. Thank you for blindly handing me a second chance at finding happiness and putting up with me as I figure things out. [That one might be a little more pointed; her weird gifts have dragged more than one person into her mess of finally blossoming power.]
[She takes a deep breath, then lets it out slowly before leaping off.] Alright, sappy- [but heartbreakingly genuine] - stuff out of the way, I want to celebrate! I’ve got a couple of vendor friends who have graciously offered to set up on the beach this weekend for a… much… smaller… version of last year’s beach party, if anyone wants to join me. Bonfires, food, drinks, dancing, karaoke, sports, [she waves a hand. Etc, etc.] I hope you’ll be able to make it! New friends, too! The more, the merrier.
And if sand doesn’t excited you, I’ve also secured a private box the next weekend at Genessia’s Theatre. I’ve never even heard of the show, but it should be fun! [A shrug.] Just let me know ahead of time that you’re coming so I can check with the powers that be and make sure we’ll all have enough elbow room.
