Greetings, Genessia. It's been some time since I addressed you like this. I wish it could be under better circumstances, to be honest. I will say that I enjoyed not having to come before you like this in the relative time of peace we've enjoyed in the last month or so. However, there have been developments.

[Ozpin snaps his fingers, pictures of Satsuki and Wily appearing on the feed.]

I'm sure you have all heard that Miss Satsuki Kiryuin has been appointed to the position of Deputy Guardian of Nova City, working under the current Guardian, Dr. Albert Wily. They have issued a proclamation that all youth within Genessia will be required to attend a school built, and run, by them.

I come before you today not as a resident of this fine city, nor as a potential Guardian Candidate. Today, I come before you as an educator. The bond between Teacher and Student is a very fragile and sacred one, I feel. There is a level of trust that needs to be met before any learning can occur. In my home world, I am the Headmaster of Beacon Academy, who trains and educates teens to face the dangers of our world head on and give everyone a fighting chance at survival. The burden of trust between myself and my students is even higher in this situation, as the career paths my students have chosen will undoubtedly put their very lives at risk once they graduate and begin their duties as Huntsmen and Huntresses.

Education is a choice. Pure and simple. Not every person is cut from the same cloth, and thus not everyone is cut out to be a shop keeper, or a hunter, or anything else. That is the beauty of humanity, however. We are given the capacity to choose our own routes through life, and how we walk that path is, again, on our shoulders. Education is not mandatory, and I encourage every youth that would be otherwise subjected to this "mandatory" school to choose for themselves whether they wish to attend or not.

I would also take a moment to speak directly to my students, though the information is something that needs to be made public so that all involved can make an informed choice. Do not forget that it was Wily who set his machines against you, and attacked you without cause. I will be coordinating potential resistances with any Guardians that wish to take action against Wily and his minions crossing into their territory in order to enforce these requirements.

I feel that I have been talking for long enough now, and will leave you to your own decisions, Genessia. I will be more than happy to aid those who wish to resist this, and will likewise stay out of the affairs of those who willingly choose to attend. Do not forget, Genessia, you have a choice.

I have seen how they work, and to be perfectly blunt, without aid, from a unified resistance, yes. They can. Wily commands an army of machines that numbers well into the millions at this point, with a series of what he calls "Robot Masters" that act as his generals.

Kiryuin also commands a great deal of power, though it's in a much more concentrated form. She and those from her world that are allied with her, each have tremendous power. From what I can tell, it seems to be connected to the very clothing they wear. Together, Wily and Kiryuin pose an exceptionally formidable alliance.

I find it depends on what is being taught. Things people want to learn makes learning much easier than just making them all do the same things. But I do agree that it should be a choice, much like when one has a choice on what to learn in the first place.

That desire to learn in itself is what should be fostered in an educator. If the only way to get students in the classroom is through mandatory attendance, then there is something fundamentally wrong with both the system and the teacher.

I wouldn't be so quick to rush into battle here. They have numbers on their side, and any aggression we show at the moment gives them cause to retaliate.

Until they make a move, I cannot stress how imperative it is we meet this with a calm and even response.

I don't think there's anyone in the guild who has any intention of attending this so called school of theirs. Whatever knowledge we need to learn, we'll learn on our own. And I agree with Natsu. If they try coming to the guild and enforcing it on anyone in the guild - or anywhere else in Fayren, they'll regret it.

But I'm hoping it won't come to that. Satsuki seemed to be a pretty reasonable person, maybe if I talk to her..

I've dealt with her kind before, and when I spoke to her, it only reaffirmed my suspicions. She has fully committed to this fool's errand, and cannot be talked down. She insists this is for a "greater good."

I am very familiar with the sacred bond between the teacher and student. Those people...do not know what they are doing. If they plan to force us to attend their school, I have to question what they intend to teach.

Schools are a very powerful structure of society, and with the right conditions, can be wielded like a weapon. With all her talk of 'unification' I fear there will be some sort of indoctrination attempts.

[He knows that voice, and every attempt to get any kind of surveillance on him has been... frustrating, thanks to his power, so, Ozpin is going to be slightly more defensive than normal.]

My thoughts exactly. And judging from the way Miss Kiryuin spoke, I have reason to believe that some form of indoctrination would be going on as well.

[ Weiss will totally yield to Ozpin's decision unless it's a really dumb decision-- but she trusts he won't make those. Now anyway. It isn't as though she always thinks all of his decisions are great off the bat, but once she understands them she can work with them. Ruby's development as a leader has given her reason to trust his leadership and choices anyway. ]

For now, nothing. Stay with your team, and do not be alone in public if you can help it. Our enemy outnumbers us greatly and possesses individuals whose power far outstrips any Grimm you have faced at the moment.

I am in the process of brokering an alliance with the Wizard Guild, Fairy Tail which is based in Fayren. They have a defensible and centralized base of operations that I am hoping they will allow us to use to organize a resistance. Many others have expressed similar concerns and would join as well.

For now though, concentrate on your own safety. I will keep you updated as the situation progresses.

I admit that on the surface it is an interesting idea but after the first three seconds I noticed a good number of flaws. The first is a fairly good idea in theory, but there really isn't that much to present. An overview of the five areas, the currency, going over locations of interest like the employment building and some of the apartment complexes. Something like that could be simply printed out as a poster and placed at each entrance to that lake.

As for that academy... It smells like rotting fish to me.

Given what I know about Wily and Kiryuin, their speech patterns and what exactly they say throughout the course of both the post and the conversations that follow are more than a little disconcerting for my tastes.

Especially when Kiryuin starts talk of "unification" and insists that whatever she has planned will fail if any less than all the teenagers in Genessia attend. I fear there might be some sort of mental conditioning planned...
