The communicator was fascinating. She'd seen several things just like it before, only a year ago it seemed. Felt far longer but those thoughts were always pushed aside in favor of happier memories. Though at the moment her curiosity was getting the best of her.

"This is fascinating!" She turned the device over several times, smiling as she walked through the dark streets, her focus on the little contraption in her hands. Her days traveling the universe were done, but she had plans to travel her own world.

And it takes far more than a year to lose the sense of self preservation one must learn when traveling time and space.

So the sound of shuffling steps and gutteral groans are easily picked up. Aliens were one things, but zombies?

"Oh. Really? Not even an hour in and already- oh alright!" It's also good that she did not lose her ability to run in heels after only a yaer.

Rose falls into giggles at that, "Decades. And you were right, I was younger when I started travelin' with him. You said we keep gettin' younger. I'm the same age as you now! Probably less mature though," another giggle. AT LEAST SHE CAN ADMIT IT OKAY?

A small gasp, "Oh! You'll get to meet Jack again! He knows you when you're older too. Not sure if you know Martha or not. She's a Doctor. A proper medical one I mean. Not like him."

"Jack?" Get younger, well, that was interesting turn of phrase. It seems that the Doctor would continue to meet others. To travel the universe. And she can't help but smile at that thought even as she laughs at the last bit.

"Well I don't know either of the people you've mentioned. But I will meet them." She rubbed her temple, how did he deal with this sort of thing? Tenses.

"Mm! Captain Jack Harkness! You said you were both fans of each other's work. Erm. In your future." Rose just barely refrained from hugging the woman, so glad to see her again, even younger, so amused by all of it, and only barely remembering she was currently a gargoyle, so settled for taking her hand instead.

"You can meet 'em right now if you like! Though like I said, I think the TARDIS is safest, but you might get turned inta something like the Doctor and me. I dunno what, if anything, Jack and Martha are yet...." Rose paused, "Oh. Hum.... NAH, they should be fine. The Doctor was pretty out of it, but no matter how messed up Martha and Jack get they're not gonna do anything to upset the Doctor." A quiet snort, already starting to run and drag Sarah Jane along with her before the woman could even decide otherwise. "Not like me." That part wasn't meant to be said aloud.

"It's usually a surprise what will upset him." She'd only seen it once where it wasn't something putting her in danger. Sarah let's the other woman take her hand, it seemed she was off again to the TARDIS. The blue box that had open her eyes in so many ways.

She hurried a bit to keep up with Rose, heels clicking with purpose against the blacktop.

Where there was a TARDIS there would be the Doctor. But there was such talk of the future, new friends and companions. It was hard to keep her thoughts from straying towards what ifs or maybes.

Rose snorted quietly. "Isn't that the truth," she rolled her red eyes in sarcastic annoyance, "Well Fluffy more than the others. The one who's a werewolf right now. Very mood whiplash-y, that one. Ice and fire. Never know which you'll get."

"Fluffy?" Really, she wondered how he took that if at all. She could only imagine the huffy pout and narrowed, annoyed eyes.

She snickered despite herself, "You never know what you get with him at any point. That was half the adventures."

Accurate. Both versions. All of them really.

Rose giggled again and beamed, "Yeah! It's true!" Somehow or another she'd forgotten the highs of that recently, but it was like Sarah Jane's simple comment took all the weight out of them and made her able to fly. Which reminded her. "Hey! You wanna go flying? I've never carried someone with it before, but I know from last time that I could've. My friend carried Jack." She gave the woman an outrageous wink, "Missed opportunity on my half, that."

"You've met gargoyles?" There should never be weight to the adventures, not the thrill of them. She'd lost that a bit near the end of her own adventures...but a year off sort brought back the love of it. Despite the dangers and pain (physical and emotional) it was always worth it.

"Well, I don't see why not. Just not too high until you're sure I'm not going to drop like a great lump on the pavement!" But she was smiling up at the other woman. No chance for a missed opportunity.

"Been one, before this," Rose giggled, remembering her first competitiveness with Sarah Jane and comparing monster stories. "Didn't get this far though. My friend Dean got stuck as one and UNIT shot him," an annoyed growl. It was years later, both in time travel and for Rose, but she hadn't forgiven and forgotten.

Another laugh. "I promise, no dropping Sarah Jane!"

"Before this!?" Her eyes widen, "Well, that shouldn't surprise me. Still can't keep those big eyes on everyone, can he." She shakes her head, she can already hear the Brigadier giving orders. Despite his long time with the Doctor.

"Alright." Sarah says after a moment of thought, arms spread out before she laughs, "How exactly do we go about this?" Never had fun toeing the line after all.
