Who: Sarah Jane and OTA
What: Running from monsters (typical Monday)
Where: Genessia City
Warning: Monsters go boo?
The communicator was fascinating. She'd seen several things just like it before, only a year ago it seemed. Felt far longer but those thoughts were always pushed aside in favor of happier memories. Though at the moment her curiosity was getting the best of her.
"This is fascinating!" She turned the device over several times, smiling as she walked through the dark streets, her focus on the little contraption in her hands. Her days traveling the universe were done, but she had plans to travel her own world.
And it takes far more than a year to lose the sense of self preservation one must learn when traveling time and space.
So the sound of shuffling steps and gutteral groans are easily picked up. Aliens were one things, but zombies?
"Oh. Really? Not even an hour in and already- oh alright!" It's also good that she did not lose her ability to run in heels after only a yaer.

Well - she won't recognize him like this but sooner or later. She will find the Tardis. There's a howl. A warning to the zombies.
Come and chase him. Come on.

Well, if Mr. Werewolf wants the attention, Sarah was very happy to give it to him.
She took another turn, looking up at the werewolf to make sure she was still heading that way (but not too close). The zombies seemed to be following her.
"Look! Get him!" She pointed up towards the werewolf.

He's going to have to be very, very clear with Rose that he's not Sarah Jane's Doctor.
But cross that bridge when he needs too - meanwhile, he's got some zombies to tackle and tie up.

Now there was something she had actually never thought.
They could simply fight each other. She was going to take this moment and head towards whatever counted as safety in this city. Perhaps a building, but something with a way out. Monsters were always trickier than they appeared.

She yelped at the sight of a fuzzy face, spinning around and pressing against the door. Instinct still strong she lobbed the shoe in her hand straight at the werewolf as her free hand moved to try and open the door.
"You get away from me! I've got another one of those!"
no subject
He can't help but grin though on how resourceful she always was.

Slowly her hand fell away from the door knob, eyeing him critically in the dim alcove. "You, saved me. On purpose?"

"Really," the French accented voice of a young girl spoke, "these monsters have been terribly rude." The little vampire floats down from above. "Now then... I suggest you find shelter for the time being."
no subject
"Well, shelter would be wonderful but I'm afraid I've only arrived."

He almost risks a glance behind him when he sees someone running toward him. A very familiar someone. Whose a great deal younger than when he saw her last time, but in this case it's the best thing he's seen in a very long time here.
"Wrong way, Sarah Jane."
He grabs her hand and, seeing she's likewise being pursued, banks a hard right in what he hopes will be a not blocked at all and perfectly serviceable alley.

She's now going another way, running behind some stranger who knew her name. There was a small moment where she pulled back, but then she noticed the zombies still behind them and the sounds of something else joining them.
"Where are we going?" Now she is running as close to him as she could, "And what was chasing you?"
no subject
"Well, up you get, Sarah Jane." One of them will have to go over and he gives her a lift so she can at least get her hands on the lip of the wall. But then to get her over.
"Ah, I may have to give you a boost." And soon as the pack of wolves and moaning of zombies draws nearer. There is no time. "Sorry." And with a hand firmly, but he hopes professionally, on her bum, he pushes her up onto the wall itself.
no subject
"Up there? You must be mad! I can't reach that even if you, hey!" Well she was up and over. A simple crawl and she's dangling over the other side, "Well? Get up here you! can't let you become food for those zombies."
A tiny smirk crosses her face. She was hoping so very much, setting herself up once again for a fall higher than the one she was hanging from.
"They'd starve."
no subject
"Look this is a perfectly serviceable regeneration! One, by the way, I wasn't even supposed to have. It's durable, classic, a Roman nose you would say but of course we invented it and, by the way, has a charming accent and personality. So if you could stop being so critical just like everyone else--"
He is cut off as a werewolf lunges at him from behind. He flips it in a deft move, far easier than even he thought he was capable of and baps it on the nose.
"Bad dog."
no subject
"Never thought you would go back to grey." She pauses because there is a small part of her that can't let her believe it is actually him. The words stick in her throat as the tiny voice from Aberdeen echoes that it can't be him. Not really.
"Get up here, you! Here!" She reaches down, holding her hand out to him.

He moves toward the wall, narrowly avoiding a lumbering hand reaching for his neck. With a grace he is mildly surprised but pleased to possess he clambers up the wall without her assistance, though mostly because he's afraid he'll pull her over, and crashes, gracefully, into the pile of trash bins and refuse on the other side.
Directly facing a squad of writhing creatures that seem to be mostly tentacle and a dripping green substance that is probably venom but at least corrosive considering how the ground seems to be hissing steam.
"Ah. Right. Don't turn around. Let's try to go up." Three stories up, to be precise, since that was how high the buildings were even from the wall.
no subject
She watches him jump over easily and gives him a questioning look. Sarah couldn't remember a time when the Doctor had been that nimble. Was it a Timelord thing or something with this 'look' that gave him that.
Then there is the sound of crashing metal and she just snorts and shakes her head. That was par for the course at least.
Shaking her head she huffed as she pulled herself up to sit on the wall, "Why shouldn't I turn around?" And of course she does just that and her eyes widen at the steam coming from the ground.
"Up. Right." Turning she crawled across the wall carefully, clinging a bit to the side of the building. "Up. How exactly do we do that?!" The sounds of groans from the other side of the wall grew louder, the zombies getting nearer and howls starting to echo around them. Sarah presses against the building.

Rose huffed and offered a handshake to the woman. "I'm not always a gargoyle," she grinned apologetically. "But my boyfriend wasn't able to reverse it. Just keep me mentally here and talking. Can't object to that much. You all right there, then? I'm Rose, by the way, Rose Tyler."
no subject
That...alright. Sarah presses herself back against a low wall, eyes wide and staring at the creature before her. The creature that was currently saving her.
"Not always a gargoyle?" She relaxes and approaches the cre-, no, the girl. Rose. she smiles softly, shaking her hand. "Thank you, I wasn't expecting to end up in a city of monsters. Especially not ones from the films." Oh, right!
"I'm Sarah Jane Smith. Now, why are you a gargoyle and what were you before?"
no subject
Rose shook her head. "Time traveler. Like you. Met you out'a order. Whoa.... Timing. He -- the Doctor was just sayin' that was how he met his wi--"
Stopping that right there, she sounds enough like the Doctor himself already, ta.
"Err, ya wanna run to the TARDIS instead? It's safer there, though hopefully you won't wake up a monster too. He did. Turned into a big fluffy werewolf. Suits him. UMMM, not the one you met, err, well you will, just not until a lot later. 'm afraid I'm probably not makin' much sense, yeah?"
no subject
"No, no, it makes absolute sense!" Or well to anyone who had known the Doctor for even half of the time she had. She shook her head to sort through a few things. That cut off word for instance and just how 'out of time' she might be in comparison.
"I'm twenty-three. I think." Another thing about travel with the Doctor. Who knew how many years actually passed, "Maybe twenty-five at this point really. I've still got a bit left in me at least."
no subject
A small gasp, "Oh! You'll get to meet Jack again! He knows you when you're older too. Not sure if you know Martha or not. She's a Doctor. A proper medical one I mean. Not like him."
no subject
"Well I don't know either of the people you've mentioned. But I will meet them." She rubbed her temple, how did he deal with this sort of thing? Tenses.
no subject
"You can meet 'em right now if you like! Though like I said, I think the TARDIS is safest, but you might get turned inta something like the Doctor and me. I dunno what, if anything, Jack and Martha are yet...." Rose paused, "Oh. Hum.... NAH, they should be fine. The Doctor was pretty out of it, but no matter how messed up Martha and Jack get they're not gonna do anything to upset the Doctor." A quiet snort, already starting to run and drag Sarah Jane along with her before the woman could even decide otherwise. "Not like me." That part wasn't meant to be said aloud.
