Who: Sarah Jane and OTA
What: Running from monsters (typical Monday)
Where: Genessia City
Warning: Monsters go boo?
The communicator was fascinating. She'd seen several things just like it before, only a year ago it seemed. Felt far longer but those thoughts were always pushed aside in favor of happier memories. Though at the moment her curiosity was getting the best of her.
"This is fascinating!" She turned the device over several times, smiling as she walked through the dark streets, her focus on the little contraption in her hands. Her days traveling the universe were done, but she had plans to travel her own world.
And it takes far more than a year to lose the sense of self preservation one must learn when traveling time and space.
So the sound of shuffling steps and gutteral groans are easily picked up. Aliens were one things, but zombies?
"Oh. Really? Not even an hour in and already- oh alright!" It's also good that she did not lose her ability to run in heels after only a yaer.

But right now there were werewolves and zombies scratching against the wall on one side and on the other there was a kind of simmering heat as the acid from the tentacle beasties began to melt the side on the other.
"Right. Do."
He has.
A) Jelly Babies...
B) ... bat ability?
Ah vampire yes right. That means.
Perhaps...
"Sorry."
He lifts Sarah Jane over his shoulder with an ease he frankly didn't expect to have, takes a mighty leap over the assembled zombie and werewolf pack and runs like hell.
"If you spot any hiding places let me know!" Because they are right behind him and werewolves are pretty damn fast.

"Why are you apologiz-ING! Oy!" She gripped his coat, feet flailing a bit at suddenly being off the unstable wall. Her eyes widened as she stares straight at the oozing, tentacle beastie. She grunts a bit when they land back on the ground, his shoulder nestling comfortably against her spleen.
"Oh yes! I'll tell you the ones we've passed!" She still did as asked, old habits coming back with every fleeing step, "Go left! there's an open door!" Some sort of late night lobby for something. Whatever it was, it was open and defensible.

Though troublingly he also enjoys hearing Sarah Jane's heartbeat. Her heat is like a small furnace and while he's not the expert on anatomy he sometimes was, he can't help but recall where the arteries run through her body like a river, the tributaries and byways where the blood would be deep and rich.
He runs his tongue over his top teeth, trying to drive those thoughts from his mind and then they really are driven when he sees what he's looking at.
"Not the Hang Dog! They call themselves a blues club but all they're really interested in is soulful R&B of the kind that was popular for two days in the eighties and that was when there was an invasion underway so it hardly counts."

She wiggled, trying to either get down or have him move into what was hopefully relative safety. "Come on, come on!"
no subject
"Right." And he dives in, shutting the door behind him. There is a wonderfully heavy thud as the wolf slams into the door, leaving an admirable dent. But he groans as something even more horrific happens.
"Oh no..."
no subject
Sarah looks up at Twelve and her eyes widen, "What? What is it?" She moves closer to him, trying to spot whatever thing is causing him to worry now.
no subject
"Sarah Jane Smith. Haven't seen you in a very long time." He tweaks her nose gently. "Can I get you a drink?" It won't be very good but it'll be a drink which is something they both need.
no subject
"Anything but ginger, or did you change back to wine to match the." She motions to his hair and eyebrows.
no subject
"Oh I'll drink just about anything. I don't have a particular favorite these days." And he's so far removed from those lives these days that he barely catches on to what she's referring to. He sits and watches her, fingers steepled absently.
"By the way, just curious, what's the last thing you remember before you came here?"
no subject
"The last I remember was getting ready to go on an extended holiday overseas." Her smile softens a bit, "Travel broadens the mind and I can't stay home much any more. Too dull. That's your fault you know."
no subject
"Excellent. The world needs to see more of you, Sarah Jane. You'd've never been satisfied with one corner of it anyway."
no subject
"Of course it does! You think you're the only one allowed to go out and have death defying adventures?" She gently nudged him with her shoulder, much as she would have done before, and smiled up at him. "I'll travel the whole world."
no subject
"And now you're somewhere else completely via mysterious forces." That had nothing to do with him for once. Or, well, at least he was fairly certain but lately it seemed that everything had something to do with him and it was getting on just this side of annoying. "What do you plan to do?"
no subject
"Mysterious forces with no manners. At least we usually got a warning if we were going to be kidnapped." She huffs, "To make do, what else? I'm not just going to sit around you know. This is a whole new world! I'm going to explore whatever I can of it. Maybe get an apartment to keep whatever I find in." She taps her fingers to her lip. That does mean she'd need to work.
Never a bad thing and she knew she could use that to help her learn all sorts of wonderful things.
"Is there a newspaper office around?"
no subject
"I do believe so though I'm not sure where it is. Heard the paper boy can be a little...aggressive."
no subject
She nods in thanks. Good! She could keep her work going, under a somewhat decent cover, and manage to keep the little apartment she'd had her eye on. It was a bit run of the mill, but sometimes a little bit of normal was needed. Her normal at least.
"Aggressive? Good."

Of course he'd be looking forward to it. She patted his cheek idly, "Just don't get back into the habit of gettin' knocked about. You're still too big for me to carry."
