Monster Smash
The girl who woke up in The Bay was not the same girl who dashed into the hordes of monsters. She was confused, and very disoriented, but all of that could be dealt with later. If innocent people were in danger, then there was no time for Minako Aino to pick through her box and learn the necessities of being a newly minted citizen of Genessia City.
Sailor Venus was needed.
She wasted no time ducking behind one of the pods and completing her transformation, hidden safely from sight. She left the box near one of the many entrances, since she couldn't exactly carry that thing around and fight effectively. Later, Venus would return to claim her belongings.
Flashes of warm, bright light lanced from her fingertip as she unleashed the power of her Crescent Beam on a misshapen snarling mass of fur and slime. She was nimble in her orange high heels, ducking and dodging shards of bone from another creature that had the misfortune to shamble after the young warrior. Her leg swung up in a vicious kick to the monster's jaw before she pressed her fingertip directly between its eyes, and destroyed it with a cry of defiance.
Crescent Beam pwnd.
Spotting her on the streets likely wasn't hard, even for someone in doors. Her attacks thrived on light and energy, and her uniform could hardly be called subtle. She swung about on her heel, gold hair sailing over her shoulders, as she unwound a chain from her trim waist. The length snapped out and around a fanged woman with a lashing serpentine body in place of her legs. Sailor Venus seized hold of the chain with gold hands, imbuing it with her energy. Gold light coursed through the heart-shaped links of her chain, and the naga shrieked before disintegrating like the other denizens of the night.
She stopped to wipe her brow and catch her breath. There were so many! No time for a break, then. She refused to stop fighting until every last one of these villains were eradicated.
[OOC: Want to get rescued by a fifteen-year-old girl? Fight side by side? You know what to do.]

[Video - 10/18, Morning]
[That sure is one very tired blonde teenager flopped out on the bed in a Commons apartment, facedown in her pillow, holding the communicator out in front of her. She tries to lift her head, decides it's not worth the effort, and the half an inch she gained is eradicated as her face meets the pillow once more. All that can be seen is her head of long blonde hair, tied back with a rumpled red bow that she should probably adjust, but hasn't.]
HeeEeeEEy... I'm supposed to introduce myself, so...
[Yawwwwwwwwwn.]
Here you go. I'm exhausted. Those monsters don't show up every night, do they?
...oh well...
[She'd be more weirded out if she weren't so completely exhausted. Her other hand flips up to flash a half-hearted "v" with her fingers.]
Minako Aino's the name I'll meet you all...later...zzzzzzzzzzz...
[Her uplifted hand drops, and the communicator falls from her limp fingers to clatter noisily on the floor. At least it ended on the 'stop recording' button.]
[Needless to say, she'll have actual replies later that afternoon. For now, she sleep.]

Well, at least the unnamed beast it had been aimed at crumpled and did not get up.
"Hey! Miss!" And there was a tiny green-haired girl in a magical girl outfit and very stylish hat hovering a bit above the soldier. Her left eye was closed and her face looked almost cracked around it and she had a strange sphere hovering in front of her chest connected to her ankles by two looping cords. "Are you okay? The monsters are really dangerous!"
She shook a plastic wand at Venus, absolutely covering the area in glitter... Really, there were all sorts of strange contrasts going on right now.

But it wasn't a power itself that declared whether or not the user was evil; it was how that power was used, and clearly this girl-like being wasn't about to let monsters run rampant through the streets. And that was good enough for Sailor Venus.
"I'm okay!" she smiled, holding a finger-V in front of a blue eye as she winked as though to show just how very totally okay she was. "Any idea what's going on? Where did these things all come from?" She was already turning away, keeping a sharp lookout for any signs of incoming trouble.

"Things like this happen sometimes here. It's really strange and no one really knows why but it's always around and through and spins. It's really aggravating miss!" Apparently she liked to speak in riddles.
"Are you new? I've never felt anyone like you before here."

Then again, was Tokyo really any better with all of its alien invaders seeking to drain human energy on a near-weekly basis?
Sailor Venus turned in the street, making sure nothing was preparing to spring out at them before answering the question. "I just got here. I'm Sailor Venus."
A beastly silhouette gathered itself high on top one of the buildings, catching the young warrior's eye. She thrust her palm skyward, gathering gold light into her fingers before pointing at the creature. "And in the name of love and beauty, I'll punish these monsters!"
action;
The moment he stepped out, he really, really wished he had Patamon with him. Monsters, monsters everywhere and they looked like they wanted him for lunch, so without thinking he was already running and soon behind him were a trail as he kept his eye out for anyone who might be able to help or... do something more than running.
This was a really, really sucky first day.
action;
But no one.
Was allowed to attack little kids in this town, not if Sailor Venus had anything to say about it! How he managed to attract so many, she didn't know. It would be a tough fight, that was for sure.
Gathering her energy and concentrating, she thrust her arm to the sky and extended her finger.
"VENUS! METEOR SHOWER!" Bright pulses of light lanced through the air, punching into the monster train to derail them from their current pursuit. The weaker monsters stumbled and snarled before vanishing. Others, with thicker hides and far more mass, were only briefly staggered and turned to bare teeth at this interloper.
She leaped off of the rooftop to land in the street, placing herself firmly between the monsters and the boy. "Get indoors!" she shouted over her shoulder. "They'll climb all over the buildings but they can't get in. You'll be safe!"
action;
It was enough to at least cause a sigh of relief. At least, for now, he didn't have to keep running. Though it did make him curious as to who they were at least and how they managed to do something like one would normally see on television.
"Ah, thank you." He said with a soft smile on his face as he checks the door for a moment only to find it was locked. He moved to knock on the door just to make sure. If no one was home then there was not a lot he could do in that situation.
After a couple of moments, he turned his head. "Sorry to ask, but I need to find a building I can actually get to and... I don't have my partner with me to help. Can you please help me? I can owe you afterward." He didn't know how he would owe her exactly as he arrived here with very little, but he figured there was probably something. Once this was all over.
action;
She blasted another monster in the face, slowing it down as it clawed at its sizzled snout and snorted in angry pain.
"We'll just have to run for it and hope we find something," she said, backing up a few steps, then turning to face the boy. "Come on! The bigger the building, the better our chances it'll be open!" She pointed out a four-story building further down the street. From here, she couldn't tell what it was, but it sure wasn't a house, and there were lights on in the windows.
action;
"Running for it is my specialty," he said coming off the doorstep for the time being. he looked at the building she was pointing to and he could tell it would be a small distance and with running might take around five minutes at best. At least he hoped that was the case.
Looking around, he could see a couple monsters before he started his running, in between each breath he was speaking. "You know, the monsters are a lot less scary in the movies."
action;
[She runs close beside him, frowning seriously. Even so, there's no trace of fear on her face; just determination. Goofy fun Minako isn't what's needed right now, and she'll bravely face down anything that tries to hurt an innocent person.]
[A lean cat-like humanoid creature lumbers out of a nearby alley, jaw disengaging for a low, drooling hiss.]
[She jump kicks it in its stupid furry face, sending it sprawling.]
Keep going, we're almost there!
action;
However, he could tell he was getting a little tired from all the running. Even as a teenager there was a limit to how much he could run, but he could at least tell they were getting closer to the goal at least and with that in mind, he wanted to sigh a bit with relief. When he could finally reach the door he speeds up a little bit, stopping just as he reached the door, turning the handle to open it before glancing back.
He was pretty sure what the answer was going to be, but he figured might as well check while monsters seemed to be coming up slowly from behind.]
Are you coming in, or are you staying out?
no subject
Are you okay? [Pistol out and staff in hand -- which happens to look like a broom -- she was ready for anything.]
no subject
[She blows out a breath of relief and straightens.]
I'm all right. You?
[Seriously, she's just glad there are other people around who seem like they're capable of fighting too, there's no way she could fight this many creatures all on her own.]

[Though Sailor Venus isn't letting her guard down, the offer seems to have instilled her with fresh confidence, and she smiles.]
Taking down creeps like this is much easier if we do it as a team. Let's go!
[Unless Angela wants to take the lead, in which case she'll defer to seniority. But she's not certain just how much battle experience the other woman has, or what she's capable of doing, so Protector is her default mode.]
no subject
I'm Angela Ziegler, by the way.
[ Video ]
Were you stuck outside last night?
[ Video ]
Yeah, but I'm fine. I just hid in a narrow alley where they couldn't get to me until I had a chance to run indoors, no big deal.
[Minako begins each day with a hearty helping of LIES. Gotta protect her secret identity.]
Do you live here?
[ Video ]
A lot of them, though, were really easy to sell to him. Cute 15-year-old-girl says she hid in an alley all night, when it was filled with monsters? Completely believable. Frown grows deeper. ]
You could've been real hurt, and. Shi- ... Crap.
You've just got here, ain't ya?
[ Sighs. ]
... Yeah. I live in Genessia City.
These monsters are kinda a recent thing.
[ Video ]
[If she were a normal human teenage girl, that is, and not a warrior for love, beauty, and justice. Because she's super not that.]
Yeah, just last night. When do they stop being a recent thing?
And what's your name?
[ Video ]
A lotta us were out there, tryin to round up anybody who needed t'stay inside, or the natives of this place, keep 'em safe.
[ He's not going to say he would have heard her - the city is a really big place, he probably wouldn't run into her. But, the point was - there were a lot of people out there, helping protect others.
Of course, Shinjiro had no clue, did he?
Another sigh. ]
No clue. Hope it's not long. I'm kinda used to these late-nighters, but. Lotsa people are startin to run short on sleep.
... Shinjiro Aragaki.
Yours?
[ Video ]
[No way is she calling 'save me' unless there was someone super cute who she knew could fight a monster on her behalf. There weren't any such guys around to fulfill the role.]
But hey, if you know someone, introduce me next time. Minako Aino, nice to meet you.
[ Video ]
Y'can call me.
Name's Shinjiro Aragaki.
I'd get you outta there fast, if you need it.
Or, once these things are gone, if this city throws somethin else at us? Who even knows what might happen.
But. Now you know sombody.
[ Video ]
[Oh no. This can only end in heartbreak
for her, but what else is new. Her cheeks are slightly flushed, her blue eyes all a-sparkle.][ Video ]
[ Raises an eyebrow at her. He has absolutely no idea. Of course, he's still rather scruffy-looking, so it's partly because he doesn't think he'd catch anybody's eye.
Shinjiro doesn't know what to make of her expression, and shrugs. ]
Dependin on where you're from, it may seem safer here than usual, or maybe more dangerous than usual.
You get in over your head, if it's not me, you let somebody know, right?
[ Video ]
No it won't.]Ahahahahahahaha! Of course, of course!
[She flaps her hand at him. Oh stop it, you.]
It's good to know I have my very own hero on standby. Thank you for being so brave!
[ Video ]
But he is starting to wonder at the giggling, now. ]
Uh. Right.
[ Frowns. "Hero" made him especially uncomfortable. ]
It ain't that. A lotta people here you'll find are kinda used to more dangerous stuff.
I won't be the last person to offer a hand, knowin the folks 'round here.
[ Video ]
[She starts to lean into her hands, but when she does, she catches sight of herself in the mirror. Ack! She's all frumpy still from sleeping in her clothes! She spazzes. She hits her head on the desk that the communicator was sitting on and comes up clutching her forehead.]
Uhhhh, but first I should probably do something about my wardrobe...in that I don't have one. Catch you later!
[She flashes him a 'v' and quickly signs off. If she's going to talk to cute guys, she needs to do it when she's looking her best.]
[ Video ]
Special?
Yeah, right.
Shinjiro shrugs, and turns off his communicator. ]
