Well, well, well. This is certainly an interesting development.

[He splays out his hands as if in a sort of careless shrug.]

This is not a realm I am familiar with...

[Then he straightens up, a bit more formal now.]

I am Loki, of Asgard. Your guide is very helpful with information and maps yet mysteries still remain, do they not?

[He pauses, he hasn't been out in the thick of it yet but he has seen some things over the network.]

By the way, this place appears to be rather chaotic but you can hardly blame me for that. I've only just arrived.

[It's always refreshing to meet someone not terribly put off by the sudden arrival in another world. It's shocking, certainly, but nothing that can't be puzzled out, you know, eventually.

He nods amicably enough when the feed initializes, in friendly greeting.]

Nor were we all when we first arrived, I'd wager. Dorian of House Pavus, of...well, most recently or Minrathous by way of the Winter Palace, that is if this Asgard is a city. If not, then of Tevinter should suffice. Admittedly things are quite chaotic at the moment, but only when night falls if you stay in the city into which you've arrived, and the creatures that prowl the streets once darkness falls are easily enough dispatched if you've a talent with either spell or a sharpened bit of metal.

[He raises an eyebrow.]

Are you certain we shouldn't blame you? You seem rather quick to dissuade it. [But he really just looks amused.]

You have not heard of Asgard?

[Maybe this place was even further removed from the Nine Realms than he first suspected.]

Regardless, I am certain I can defend myself well enough.

[An understatement, perhaps. He's discovered that his dagger and throwing knives are on his person and he does have his magic.]

I have a bit of a reputation. People are so quick to judge.

[And he'll own his mischief but he's preemptively drawing a line at being responsible for just anything that happens.]

I've not, no, though it would be silly to assume I've heard of every place.

[He inclined his head in a nod.]

Very well. If you'd care for a fireball or two as backup, I doubt I'm far.

[And he chuckles.] Aren't they? "People are people" as a friend of mine is want to say.

Fireball? Are we talking magic or are you merely speaking of a weapon such as a flamethrower?

Magic, naturally. This strange influx of monstrosities is merely the most reason to avoid trusting our safety to technology.

Technology indeed can have its limitations.

Although so can magic, if one hasn't learnt enough.

[He nods.]

I'm aware. I've studied magic most of my life.

[He pauses.]

Are you a mage?

That isn't a word that I've been called, however I do have some talent in that area.

[Such false modesty.]

You've never been called a mage? Wizard? Sorceror?

[Winter's studied Loki for a few moments, taking in the armor, the build, the confidence in his smile.]

[Smirks bother her.]

[Nonetheless, her image comes in crisp and clean, and there's a faint nod of greeting.]

[Today she is an evil mage, if the cheap costume is anything to go by.]

Your assessment is correct; there is much to be learned. There is a current upset regarding many of the archways. Moving into Attleton will cause you to face one of your greatest fears, so I advise that you steer clear. Everglade's architecture has been reduced to regenerating structures fashioned of candy. Many in Nova City were turned into monsters the first day this chaos began, so while that is unlikely to happen to newcomers, nonetheless, tread with caution. Fayren will cause you to be placed in a costume that is not of your choosing -- as you see.

[A gloved finger taps the brim of her witch's hat.]

Am I correct in assuming, based on your attire, that you have some experience in combat?

[It was a lot to take in so he listens patiently before replying, answering to the latter.]

I have been in many battles, you are correct in that.

Are you qualified to handle the surge of monsters that emerge during nightfall without assistance?

[She's never seen what he's capable of, or what he's accustomed to fighting. Winter arches an eyebrow, as if daring him to impress her.]

Does this world have need of an army?

[There's a pause. She hadn't been expecting him to answer with another question.]

...At times.

[And she waits again for his answer, now assessing him more shrewdly with a few flicks of her cold blue eyes.]

[He chuckles.]

Then consider me to be a one-man army.

But then, what qualifies as a monster here?

A claim you expect me to accept at face value? So be it.

[It means she can stay put, and he can take care of the monsters just fine.]

I hardly think this is the time to discuss philosophy. There are others who will happily indulge such appetites. If there is nothing further.

[He's got one second to reply before she disconnects without so much as a farewell. So. Rude.]

But it seems she's already disconnected. He shrugs to himself. He arrogantly doesn't think there will be anything he can't handle alone.]

[Have a tiny, timid golden dragon appearing on the screen.]

Interesting...? I suppose that would depend on your definition of "interesting..."

And yes, things are chaotic right now, but it should pass soon enough...I hope...

[That's a different sight but not the strangest he's ever seen so he doesn't appear overly surprised to see a sentient dragon.]

Ah, another mentioned something about fears? I take it this isn't a normal state of affairs around here.

This isn't normal. Everything started just about a week ago...

[She hopes this doesn't turn out to be the new normal. She gets scared enough, even without her worst fears coming to life...]

I've never met a god before, if you truly mean to be that Loki. Quite an honor.

What other Loki would I be?

Someone named after first Loki?

While that's possible, I am indeed the first Loki.

Goodness. I suppose you could consider me a fan then, even though I'm sure the there were several creative liberties taken when creating the stories that ended up in human mythology. Are there any you know about that I should completely disregard right away? I'd hate to have incorrect assumptions about a person.

Chaotic indeed. I can hardly accuse this place of being boring, that's for certain.

Indeed not! Incidentally, the monsters running around outside Everglade aside from myself and my sister aren't the personable sort...

...So feel free to unleash a little chaos on them. I may join in.

Ohhh, lovely, an Asgardian haven't met someone calling himself an Asgardian in, oh, must be centuries, although, parallel worlds, never can be sure, hello, I'm the Doctor, oh, it is a pleasure. Don't think you'll have a problem, though, 'long as y'don't mind being a good neighbor, nothing quite like a new venue to offer a fresh start, don't you think?

Your status as an arrival is a little obvious.

[She knows the legends about Loki the trickster, however, this is the first time that Enis has interacted with someone who was considered a god by some random ancient human race. She wonders how large his ego is.]

Do you have plans to cause problems? Just so I know who to start after when things go south. I'm sure you'll have other visitors too. [Who doesn't like a good game of cat and mouse.]

Considering who you claim to be, I figure it's probably best that you and I have this conversation sooner rather than later. First off, if you are who you say you are, best to keep your godly powers to yourself. Despite the myriad worlds we come from, the people around here organize remarkably fast and you'll find yourself outnumbered and outgunned really quick if you cause trouble. Secondly, don't expect anyone to bow down or anything because you claim to be the god of mischief or whatever. Whatever you were before doesn't mean squat here. We've had demons, aliens, and intergalactic emperors come through and it's never gone well for 'em.

Now that that bit of uncomfortableness is out of the way, I'm all for blank slates and all that, so if you're up for it, I'd be happy to show you a good place to get a drink.
