1: A New World Awaits?! Goku Arrives in Genessia!

[Action]

[As soon as Goku wakes up in the Bay, his eyes dart open and he hops to his feet. He was transported here in the middle of a fight, so he's pretty energized.]

Wow, she must've hit harder than I thought! Time to get serious!

[With a scream, his hair turns blue and shoots straight up as a blue aura surrounds his body. People in Genessia City might feel some tremors, and anyone who can sense energy will notice one particular source sky-rocketing as Goku taps into powers that many people would struggle to comprehend.]

Now I'll show you the power of... Huh? [Looking around, Goku realizes that he's clearly not at the Tournament of Power any more.] Is this some kinda test? [He'll deactivate Super Saiyan Blue once he's aware that this is definitely not a part of the tournament.]

[Goku finally managed to get his phone working - he may have dropped it a few times, but it's still intact!]

Hi, everyone! My name's Goku! I just got here, an' I got a few questions. First of all, how do I get home? I dunno if Zenny's gonna put the tournament on hold when I'm stuck here, but if he doesn't, I need to get back to where I came from in about twenty minutes or my universe might be destroyed. [He has his doubts that Zen-Oh would actually erase his first/only friend (in other words, Goku) from existence, along with his universe, but after seeing what he did to the ninth and tenth universes, the Saiyan doesn't want to risk it.]

Also, where's the best place to eat 'round here? I'm starving! [If he's going to be waiting, then he might as well have something to eat - all of that fighting took a lot out of him!]

And do I need to get a job? [They're so boring...] ...Guess that's about it! [He's not really concerned about how they got here, who/what brought them here, or that sort of thing.]

[As he comes down from the sky, Goku may notice a woman with a rather unique aura watching him from a nearby rooftop. It wasn't every day a newcomer burst into the sky like that with color changing abilities that rivaled her own. She doesn't do anything more than watch for the moment, but she is definitely intrigued.]

[Goku lands, his hair shifting from the blonde of Super Saiyan to its usual unkempt black hairdo. It seems like it would take a bit for him to get used to this place - thankfully, he could still sense the energy of others here, but it felt off somehow.

Still, his training with people like Mr. Popo and King Kai stuck with him, and when someone's not even trying to conceal their energy, he can tell when they're watching him. Looking around for the source, he spots someone watching him from a rooftop.

Sure, this woman's perpetually glowing, but for Goku, that's downright normal. He just gives her a big wave.] Hey! How's it goin'?

[Ragyo simply cocks an eyebrow before shifting her hips slightly. This one was... interesting to say the least.]

That depends on your intention. I just opened up my store and I would greatly appreciate it if you didn't blow it up in some misguided attempt to assert dominance or some such nonsense.

Domi-what? Nah, I'm just lookin' for a place to eat! You know where I can find one?

[...He's probably going to burn through his starting money and still be hungry afterwards, at the rate that he eats.]

[The look on Ragyo's face seemed to sour even further, somehow. It was clear she had overestimated the character of this one...]

Food should be your second priority. Your first should be making yourself look presentable.

Why would I wanna look like a present?

[She just gives him A Look (tm).]

It would be better than what you're wearing now.

[He looks down at his gi, a little confused.]

But this is what I always wear! It's comfy, an' really easy to move in.

One does not need to sacrifice function for fashion. I can make you something just as easy to move in that is less offensive to the viewer.

Nah, I'm fine with this! I got this kinda gi from Master Roshi, an' I wouldn't wanna change it too much. Thanks, though!

[She just turns with a sway of her hips, waving slightly while rolling her eyes at the response.]

Well, should you wish to look like something other than an orange that's been left out in the sun for too long, look me up.

[Goku gives Ragyo a big wave; as usual, the insult flies wildly over his head.]

'Kay, thanks a lot!

Time does not move while we are here. Your world is safe.

[ A pause. The next part is said a little more flatly. ]

Do you need to eat? Then you will need a job.

Whew! That's a relief!

[That second part, on the other hand...] But I don't need a job at home! [How Chi-Chi affords groceries is a bit of a mystery. Still, it helps that he's friends with two of the richest people in the world, and Chi-Chi's dad is a king (sort of).]

Did someone else feed you?

Or did the government supply you with food?

[ She can give him the benefit of the doubt - maybe his society didn't let people go hungry, or had some kind of support system for people in ... fighting tournaments to save the universe from being destroyed. Or whatever was going on. ]

My wife usually does the cooking! I can cook up a dinosaur leg over the campfire, but I don't think I'd ever be able to make stuff as good as she does, even if I tried for a million years!

Your wife isn't here.

[ She wasn't trying to be unkind. It was only the truth.

Just as she pointed out: ]

You'll need money now, here, to feed and care for yourself.

What are some good ones? Farming's okay, but it takes too much time to do. [He usually gets bored, takes a break to train, and has his twelve year old son drive the tractor around. What could possibly go wrong?]

[ Again, benefit of the doubt, here. ]

The newspaper usually has job positions listed, and bounties posted.

Oh, okay! Thanks! [He's not a huge fan of reading, but he's hoping it will be easy to find.]

[ She sends him a text with a link. ]

Ooh! Are any of these outlaw guys strong? [He's not going to go around picking on people weaker than him, but if he can get a good fight in and get paid for it, that would pretty much be his dream job.]

I think that's a matter of opinion.

[ Some people certainly seem better equipped to go bounty-hunting than others - and some of the bounties offered seem more difficult than others. Still, as powerful as some visitors seemed to be in Genessia, she couldn't say how "strong" anyone was without some kind of metric to measure against. ]

[Once Ted gets over the morbid shock over just how arbitrary his "universe" must be, he chimes in with a happier face]

Goodness, what inveterate gamblers must run your competitions! But as Dorothy said, you've naught to worry about.

But to answer your questions: at a friend's house and yes, respectively. Indeed, those who don't work won't be doing any eating, if right and wrong have anything to say about it!

Now a question of my own: what's your name mean?

[Goku has no idea what Ted was saying there at first, but he just nods along like he understands. It (usually) works with Bulma!

He will respond once his questions are answered, though.] I dunno if my friends are here, though. [He closes his eyes for a moment, focusing.] Nope!

Oh, I know this one! Grandpa told me it means "the Child Aware of Emptiness" - dunno why he picked that one, but I guess he thought it sounded neat!

Ahah, found that out so quickly, eh? Educated guess, or...?

[Far be it from him to dash his hopes of familiar friends. Otherwise he'd probably say that the likelihood is low. But hey, he doesn't seem bummed at all. Nice!]

Ahahaheh, well there is something..."neat" about it. "Aware of emptiness"...

[Now Ted's spacing out, donning an emptiness of his own as he contemplates what that might mean. By degrees his usually happy face wrinkles with concern. He snaps back to attention, apparently content to think on it another time.]

Well, suppose that still leaves the matter of the dining. How about...the Bright Sky Diner? It's not too far; treated a friend there myself, in fact, and received no complaints.

Usually, I can sense where they are! It's tougher for others, since they don't have much ki, but I'd still recognize 'em if they were here.

Hey, thanks! Would this be enough to eat there? [Goku holds up the whole stack of bills that he had gotten - normally, it would be a ridiculous question, but given how much he normally eats, he's honestly not sure.]

"Ki", eh? A tool for finding one's friends? That sounds lovely and incredibly useful besides. Can it be taught?

[He sure hopes so. Ted laughs at the question.]

You're very welcome! Haha, I think so, as that's at least enough to live on for a month. Unless you plan on leaving a very generous tip, of course.

Yeah, it can! I haven't got much of a chance to teach someone how to use it, but it can't be too hard! [He picked it up almost immediately, but then again, he's quite unusual in that regard. (in many regards, actually)] It also lets me fly!

That's great! Chi-Chi's always sayin' that our meals can get pretty expensive, so if she shows up, she'll be glad to hear that!

Goodness, both of those things sound lovely and useful! Well, if your schedule ever opens up I'd love to learn both those things.

I ain't too good with training people, [Piccolo, Gohan, or Krillin seem much better suited to that - he picked up most of what he knows through seeing other people do it.] but I guess I could try somethin' like that!

Oh, she's my wife. She usually handles a lot of this stuff, like food an' money. Guess I'm gonna have to try an' remember how she does it!
