[ What a strange place.

Vanille is no stranger to weird, new places--she's been to enough before. But this...this feels different somehow. More lively, even more so than Cocoon was. And for once, she has no idea where she is, other than what the pamphlet tells her. ]

Hmmm.

[ She taps her chin and steps back, arms crossed. Vanille's thinking--what kind of place is this going to be? Will it be friendly to her, unlike Cocoon was in the beginning? Or will it just be another...well, disaster? Regardless, she gives a smile and waves. ]

Hi there! So this is...Genessia, right? I'm Vanille, and I'm new here!

[ If you listen closely, you can hear the growling of her stomach. Vanille laughs a bit. ]

Aha, I guess I'm pretty hungry. Traveling to a whole new place kinda does that!

They give you a key to an apartment when you get here, but you can always move later too. Right now I'm living with my cousin and one or friends from back home.

Oh! That's convenient, huh? Are the apartments pretty nice?

So you have people you know from your home, too. [ She nods, mostly to herself, and lets out a little smile. ] That's good.

I didn't really spend much time in mine. My cousin was quick to bringing me into her place. But it is a nice place to live in.

Yeah. It's great to see them again. Do you know if anyone you know is here?

She must really care about you! That's nice.

Mm-mm, not yet. I have a feeling, though, that there might be.

We've always been pretty close and it's nice to be able to be around her more. Back home we only really contacted each other through communicator since we live in different places.

Mm! It's like a sleepover every day with a friend, huh?

I never really had to deal with communicators before, so this is kinda new. I was lucky my best friend was always at my side. [ Well, mostly, but she doesn't like thinking about those times. ]

Exactly! Well... the ones we have here... is different from the one I'm used to back home.

[Digging to find her Ruelle mirror to show her.]

[ She shakes her head, looking a bit sad--but she covers that up with a smile, even if it still holds that same sadness. ]

No...I don't think so, anyway. But if she were here, I think she'd try and find me right away.

It's called a Ruelle. Ruelles back home have different purposes, but this allows me to contact people with another Ruelle mirror.

Ah... Well... She might come later.
