[ What a strange place.

Vanille is no stranger to weird, new places--she's been to enough before. But this...this feels different somehow. More lively, even more so than Cocoon was. And for once, she has no idea where she is, other than what the pamphlet tells her. ]

Hmmm.

[ She taps her chin and steps back, arms crossed. Vanille's thinking--what kind of place is this going to be? Will it be friendly to her, unlike Cocoon was in the beginning? Or will it just be another...well, disaster? Regardless, she gives a smile and waves. ]

Hi there! So this is...Genessia, right? I'm Vanille, and I'm new here!

[ If you listen closely, you can hear the growling of her stomach. Vanille laughs a bit. ]

Aha, I guess I'm pretty hungry. Traveling to a whole new place kinda does that!

[ Vanille's pretty much minding her own business now--she's gotten something to eat and now she's off by herself, exploring. She's used to being alone, really, and it's not so bad. At least now she has someone she can call a friend--a surprise, but a pleasant one nonetheless.

But her friend's not here now, and she senses the man before she hears him. He feels familiar--or at least, the swirling cloud behind him feels familiar. She knows this feeling, and it's one she never wanted to feel ever again.

Vanille turns, and her eyes widen just a little bit. She saw him, once, after Lightning had been successful. And she had certainly heard of him--she and Fang both, and Fang had said he was bad news. But he doesn't seem so bad.

Regardless, she's keeping her guard up. Not that anyone could blame her, really. ]

I know who you are, too. I saw you, then--you and that girl, Yeul.

[ She keeps watching him. Maybe she's a little too guarded, but then...she knows, a little bit, what Caius has done in the past. ]

Mm, I'm not sure. A lot of people are here. Maybe...the world is just lonely.

[ It's a little childish, and Vanille's not sure if worlds can even feel. Probably not. But she doesn't really have an explanation otherwise for why so many people are here. ]

[Upon his arrival here, he's left a lot of that negativity behind. Well, there's no world there anymore that causes him to react and Yeul isn't here coupled with the fact that he had completed his task - his Focus.

The knight once called the Champion of Paddra, and Savior of the Farseers, he remembered a past long ago through his actions to save Yeul from her never ending fate of death and rebirth. He listens to Vanille, since she was the one chosen by the souls within the Chaos to hear their voices, he knew her purpose from within the Temple of Etro.

He pauses and looks over his shoulder and nods once.]

Perhaps. I shall learn my purpose in time. Yeul is not here. She remains in the Chaos to tend to the souls outside of reality. She awaits my return.

[And it's just one more reason why he won't go on a rampage. Like himself, she is beyond death and that alone comforts him.]
