video, December 3rd
[ The Cassian Andor showing on the network today is strikingly different from the disheveled rebel officer Genessia is used to. He's wearing a crisp white uniform with black pants and gloves which will be strikingly familiar to those who have run into Thrawn before. His beard is short and neatly trimmed, the blue and red rank pips on his chest polished to a high gleam. ]
This is Agent Andor of the Imperial Security Bureau. I have taken note of an incident which has displaced me from the Genessia I am familiar with. I assume that others have been affected by the same phenomenon. I urge you to remain calm and follow the instructions given to you by law enforcement.
As the town of Attleton is under Imperial protection, I will personally see to enforcing order within the borders of this town. Violence will of course be met with necessary force, but I would like to assure you that the Empire and I are not your enemy. This town has suffered under the chaos of rebel mismanagement for long enough; no longer will criminals and wanted terrorists be permitted to parade themselves as protectors.
action, first days of the event
[ After finding himself in a Genessia which wasn't familiar to him at all - and on top of that, finding himself in Attleton when he should have been in Nova City - Cassian Andor wastes no time to gather information about the familiar-yet-foreign place he finds himself in.
The find that he's in a place of authority here is a pleasant surprise, and one he is going to make full use of. The discovery of his counterpart's personal circumstances are less pleasant... even less pleasant than the framed Declaration of the Rebellion hanging in the Guardian's office, which he promptly throws into the trash bin.
You'll find him wandering about town, trying to relearn the world of Genessia and learn the town of Attleton, a place which he had dismissed as unimportant in his own Genessia.
Banned from the house by K-2SO, he will be staying in Bixby Place - sans pokemon or dog, on which Kay has staked a claim. ]
action, Wednesday, 6th, Hangar Queen
[ This evening finds Cassian in the Hangar Queen, getting spectacularly smashed. It had started out with a single drink and the good sense that he had to be frugal with what little money he had, but he could be charming when he tried, and he could be pretty, and a smile got you free drinks, which made it easier to smile and cajole more free drinks out of people...
A dangerous circle, which would be bound to take a turn for the ugly if anyone tried to get too familiar with him, or even worse, said something which offended the Imperial who was currently devoid of a brain-to-mouth filter. Or brain-to-fists filter, for that matter. But for now you could see him drinking and flirting, a throng of people around him which he regaled with tales from a galaxy far, far away.
There was no cure for misery and self-loathing as trusty as alcohol. ]

There was no cure for misery and self-loathing as trusty as alcohol. ]

no subject
[ He trails off, forgetting even his pretense of token struggles against being carted around.
Cassian's face is scrunched up in thought. ]
That a trick question? You gonna drop me if I say no?
no subject
[ And that's the truth. Damaging the Imperial would damage the real Cassian Andor, and she didn't want that to happen.
The reason for her question, though, was a lie: ]
I am an android.
I desire data.
no subject
I'm tired of being data.
[ There's another wriggle. ]
I changed my mind. Lemme down.
no subject
She didn't trust the Imperial enough. ]
So you can drink more and destroy your liver?
So you can go and find someone to lick?
[ Her voice is flat and cool. ]
no subject
[ Where her voice is cool, his has gained an aggressive edge. He feels more clear-headed than he has all evening, and it's not a feeling that Cassian approves of. He'd liked being fuzzy and unconcerned. Now she's making him think again. ]
There's no Empire here. I don't know if we can make one. There's only three of us.
[Three. That is something sober him wouldn't have given away. ]
Doesn't matter if I drink my brains away.
no subject
[ Fine, fine, Cassian. She'll say it, even if you'll throw her words in her face, call her a machine: ]
Because I care about what happens to you.
Kaytwo cares about what happens to you.
Humans don't have many braincells to spare. You can't afford to lose that many.
no subject
He opens his mouth to deny he ever said that, but snaps it shut again. Kriff. Imperius is going to kill him. Today keeps getting worse.
And then Dorothy just goes and... ]
You don't care for me! He doesn't! I'm just... You like someone who looks like me and then you get mad I'm not him! And now let me down!
no subject
But she can't.
She lets him down, but holds onto his arm, for just a moment, as she says: ]
You are him.
You are him with other choices, other Memories.
Those choices are important. They distinguish between you both. They are the ones which brought you here. They are why you think you are alone now.
But you still can make other choices.
In another Memory, there was a Cassian Andor who made a choice to be a good man. And since you can make those choices, still? I care about what happens to you.
no subject
[ He takes a step away from her, drags his fingers through his hair though that only makes it messier. ]
I'm not...
[ He sighs harshly. Squeezes his eyes shut. ]
I'm too drunk for this.
[ He's always too something to think about his choices, really, usually it's just too busy. ]
I've made my choice. Just... just leave me alone. I want to be drunk. I don't want to think.
no subject
[ Of course he was.
And of course he said that. Dorothy has the urge to pick him up again, drag him to wherever he wanted to be in Everglade, and. Something. Sit on him, maybe, until the real Cassian came back.
But. That wasn't fair to the Imperial. Even if he wasn't someone she really knew. ]
You are already doing both those things.
Maybe you should do the opposite.
no subject
[ He scrunches up his face as he works hard on figuring out what the opposite is. ]
I don't want to be drunk? [ He kicks at a pebble and wobbles dangerously. ] But I do! I wanna be drunk. But you broke my vodka.
I don't want to talk anymore.
no subject
[ So. So tempted to just pick him up and haul him away. ]
All right.
But you should find some water.
Or tomorrow you'll have more regrets than you already seem to.
no subject
[ And the sullen tone in which he says this sounds perfectly convincing, of course. He kicks another pebble. ]
I want to go home.
no subject
[ The one he remembers from his world?
Or the one he's been kicked out of? ]
no subject
[ And now it's a galaxy and an alternate universe out of his reach. ]
Just bring me back to Everglade. That's where I'm staying.
no subject
[ She's relieved - she expected him to turn around and run to the nearest bar or nightclub again.
Dorothy continues to walk with him to the subarchway. At his own pace, which wasn't exactly fast, for his inebriation. Still, he told her to put him down, and for now, he was cooperating. That was something. ]
