[ VIDEO ]
[ Dorothy is normally pretty expressionless, but by her current face - eyes slightly narrowed, lips thinner - anyone who's spoken to her before might be able to tell she is Not Amused.
Coolly: ]
I am curious.
What holiday do you celebrate, where everyone loses their minds?
Please inform me.

Video
Yeah... I'm fine. I'll need to keep my guard up when stuff like this happens though.
[a blink.]
How about you?
Video
Yes. I think many people are more ... violent, than they normally are.
[ A pause. Then, honestly, though it certainly didn't look that way: ]
I'm worried.
Video
I'll say... Hope it's not permanent. [when she says her next choice of words though, he falls silent for a moment. violence increasing, even Cloud was defeated (albeit with him being incredibly reluctant to hurt Yang in any capacity). not the best start for someone who came hot off the heels of potentially saving his own world.]
... are you somewhere safe?
Video
[ A pause, and. Yes, she doesn't breathe, she doesn't blink, at times her eyes narrow, or her lips thin in worry - but it's extremely subtle. ]
The last holiday returned people to normal after over two weeks.
[ And then, her eyes slightly widen in surprise. ]
I am fine.
I'm not worried for myself. I'm worried for my friends.
Video
I'm not so sure I'd call these actual holidays. ... That Christmas one coming up though, sounds a bit better.
Can't say I blame you. Did you try calling them yet? Maybe they'll pick up. [yeah, like he ever picked up his own phone.]
Video
[ Her face relaxes, now she's no longer surprised by his concern. Such a small change that it was. ]
Some of them can be found. Their Memories seem to be changed. They do not remember me.
But one of my friends ... I can't find her. Her bakery is closed. Her apartment is empty. She does not answer her phone.
Video
Video
I don't know if her Memories have changed. I don't know if she is the same as she always is, except hurt, by someone who is not normally dangerous.
I don't know if she, also, is now dangerous - or if she is merely afraid.
[ There's worry in her eyes, very clearly, and it's perhaps a bit startling on her face, considering how expressionless she was before. ]
I just want to know she is safe.
Video 1/2
[his breath audibly hitches as his eyes widen when the name registers. that girl... he didn't know that many people here. but she was the one who managed to reign him in when he was at his most stubborn shortly after being beaten down. she was missing too...?]
.....
[and he let her go. people were worried about her, but he didn't think anything of it. Cloud was the wrong person to remember what people were like before all of this started happening. it was almost like he was the only one unaffected.
for once, Cloud was himself.]Video 2/2
a twinge of guilt hits his expression. if he knew...
but! there was one thing he could take away from this, to tell Dorothy and put her mind at ease.]
She's alright. I think I ran into her the other day.
[judging by his expression and how calmly he thought of her, she wasn't dangerous. afraid? ... he could see it. but she was safe.]
Video
[ Her eyes widen, a little, and it's almost like she's more lively with the news. Dorothy leans into the camera, fractionally, like she can get more information faster that way. ]
She's all right, you say.
Did she seem ... confused? Did she mention why she wasn't working? Was she afraid? Had anyone threatened her?
[ In a moment, she'll realize quite logically, that this strange man probably wouldn't know the answers to all of these questions. But, at that moment, she was speaking before she was really thinking, as her mind was running through too many variables at once. ]
Video
But I can tell she didn't want to be seen by anyone.
[so, afraid? he had a good hunch that was the case.]
She still helped me get back home after I got in a fight though.
Video
If she didn't want to be seen, it explains why she couldn't be found. And why she didn't answer her phone.
Quiet: ]
Did it seem like she had a place to stay?
[ A pause. Perhaps he didn't know what to look for. ]
Was her hair clean? Were her clothes in good condition? It is very cold outside now. Did she seem like she had been staying warm? Did she look like she had gotten adequate sleep?
[ So many things could happen to a human if they were homeless. She'd seen that to people living outside of the domes. ]
Video
She didn't say. She wouldn't stay at my place for long, but she seemed really apologetic. [his gaze drifts down] She seemed fine... I mean, she wasn't hurt or anything. She was wearing some kind of white sleeved dress.
If I knew what was going on though...
[he would have convinced her to stay. or at least tried harder. but it was hard for him to think in that time period when he was as injured as he was.]
Video
She concentrates on the facts he did share - she wasn't hurt. She was apologetic (which was normal, really). But little other details. ]
You didn't know.
[ She pauses, and reads the guilt on his face - ]
It wasn't your fault. If she was determined not to intrude, she would have resisted efforts to make her stay.
[ That much was true of even Orihime on a normal day. ]
Video
Oh...so she's normally like that.
[despite it all, she still helped him. if he found her again (or maybe if he tried calling her and she picked up, he'd find some way to make it up to her. at least to reassure Dorothy that she was still safe. but...]
Maybe I can call her. Tell her that you're worried if she picks up.
[he could even leave a message. he's used to doing that in his old job for delivery clients, after all.]
Video
[ Then, her words are firmer: ]
If she picks up her phone, I will tell her myself.
[ But, if she's avoiding her friends for whatever reason? It might have to wait until after whatever was going on wears off.
Reassuring herself as much as this stranger, because she's not hurt at least right now: ]
It is temporary. It will pass.
Video
[it seemed as if he was apologizing and thanking people most of his time spent here. granted he had an interesting start.]
Video
[ A beat, and she realizes: ]
What is your name?
My name is R. Dorothy Wayneright.

Thank you again.
