[ VIDEO ]

[ When the feed turns on, it shows a very tall man, muscular, long hair half-tied back. He's rubbing the back of his head with a wince - maybe he hit his head on the way out of the cocoons?

There's a very large sword strapped across his back, but otherwise, he's dressed quite casually in black.

He smirks into the camera. ]

Interestin reading material you guys've got here. Pretty girl in that fancy projection, too. All in all? Not a bad introduction.

[ In some ways, there is no going back. Not long after they found Prompto, they lost Noctis. For ten years.

And then. Well.

But he can say: ]

You stay just the same.

[ And then, gently, seriously, perhaps even sternly: ]

Yeah. I do know you.

And you will be fine.

[He rubs his cheeks, calming down somewhat, it's pretty embarrassing to be caught crying like that, but he knows Gladio has his back.]

Yeah? Good...really good.

[He's skeptical because right now he feels terrible and he's doign his best to hide it, but it's a real process, he hasn't been sleeping well, for one thing.]

[ Folds his arms, casual, like it's no big deal that Prompto was crying, or had needed a hug before. ]

... It wasn't right away.

And you might not believe me, but I'm gonna point out - I am from the future.

So yeah. It gets better.

[ The part where Prompto can't sleep because of memories of being tortured, anyway.

The rest? Loss of all sunlight? Missing King? What they were required to give up, to see a dawn again? Well, he wasn't talking about that bit. Wouldn't bring it up, either, thank you. ]

Yeah...I guess not.

[He nods slightly, his eyes a little puffy from that display, but what's a few tears between friends? He's just relieved it doesn't mean the end of them.]

I'm just glad that you don't care. About this anyway.

[He had been so very worried they'd never accept him as an enemy to their country.]

Nah. I've always cared more about you pulling your weight - looking after Noct - and maybe not encouraging him to get in such trouble.

[ He smirks, though. Because he's mostly joking. ]

Where your from doesn't matter. We know who you really are, you've proven that.

What? What? I never! I can honestly tell you all the trouble we got into was his fault!

[And he giggles, because those are nicer memories and a surprising distraction.]

I want to thank you again, but I have to stop or I'll do it all day.

Sure. Well. It's pretty easy to believe, anyway.

[ Can't help but chuckle, too. They are good memories, and it's kind of strange, thinking he'd see more moments like that now. ]

I dunno, it's kind of a nice change, from all the complaining you did when I'd lead us 'cross the countryside. Through woods, or bogs, or into caves. Not a lot of thanking done, then.

[Gladio is rewarded with an attempt at shoving him back.]

Ugh caves, with the heights and the claustrophobic spaces. Oh yeah. Let's never stop doing that.

[He rolls his eyes and moves away to flop on their couch.]

I'm going to get a puppy.

[ Nope, not even budging slightly with that shove. Nice try, though.

Gladiolus sits on a chair, casual, and his sprawl makes the piece of furniture seem tiny. ]

A puppy?

Huh.

[ Smirks ]

I always pictured Noct as more of a cat person.

I haven't asked Noct yet?

[His tone suggests he kind of wasn't going to and was going to ask for forgiveness instead, oops?]

He likes Pryna and Umbra, I figured he won't mind.

[Maybe. Hopefully.]

[ Pryna and Umbra seemed more ... other, than just regular dogs. But he didn't point this out. Instead, he snorted a laugh - ]

Well, it's not like his lazy ass will take care of it, so. Considering that, I think you can get whatever sort of pet you want.

[ Grins. Normally he wouldn't support asking forgiveness instead of permission, but he wasn't kidding - if Prompto was going to do most of the work, then Noct's opinion was kind of superfluous. It wasn't as if he was allergic or something. ]

[Prompto adores Pryna, she is just the most precious dog okay and he really likes taking pictures of dogs, and always wanted one.]

I wouldn't make him take care of my dog!

[He grins.]

Besides I have help if I need it, Belle already said she would.

'Cause you're smart.

[ Belle. Belle again. Now was the better time.

His smirk is wide, very wide. ]

You won the auction, then?

That poor dog if I just left it to Noct.

[He sighs softly, shaking his head, and he pauses a moment.]

[He turns bright red and stammers.]

I...hn...ah...mm...th-that's n-not..gah!

[He takes a breath.]

Yeah.

Mmm, moving fast here, aren't you Prom?

[ He's just going to keep wearing this grin. Suffer, Prompto. ]

Have you already introduced her to Noct and Iggy?

What?! [He squeals a little hiding his face.]

I am not! I didn't! Sh-She...I...gah!

And no, I didn't, don't talk to her!

What, are we not good enough for your girlfriend?

[ Leans back a little in his chair ]

Don't worry, I won't steal her away. Besides, if she's flirting back with you, I wouldn't really be her type anyway.

We are not flirting! I didn't flirt with her! And yeah, but she's not my girlfriend and you can't...don't say stuff like that to her!

Wait, so you like her, and you bought a date for her at the auction - and you hadn't asked her to be your girlfriend yet?

[ Folds his arms. As if he's disappointed. Affect is kind of ruined by the smirk he's still wearing. ]

This is how you break hearts, Prom.

I...no? [He's squirming so much.]

She's not my girlfriend it's...she's my friend and she's very nice and it's just a charity date thing and I don't know and you just..shut up! Noct made me!

[Because he was too shy to do it himself.]

What? I would never! I don't want to do that! You-gaaah! [He lets out a frustrated noise.]

I hate you so much right now!

Hmm, sounds like Noct was bein a good friend.

[ He's so amused at your expense right now. ]

You shouldn't lead her on - if she's a nice girl, and friends with your awkward face, then she probably likes you too. Especially if she agreed to that date - if it's just for charity, she'd turn you down after, right?

[ Gladiolus is enjoying this waaaay too much, but there's a kernel of truth in there, Prompto. ]

Noct was not helping!

[Noct was so helping and he knows it, it's just he's really shy, even if he gets along well with her.]

He only did it because we went on a walk together, and she came by the store...

[He shakes his head.]

I...uh, well. I haven't asked her yet. It just..happened. I don't know what to ask her to! I mean, no, she probably doesn't want to go!

Sounds like he really was.

And let me guess - you haven't been able to shut up about her, have you?

[ Laughs ] I literally just got here, and you keep mentioning her name.

[ It was adorable. ]

Dinner? Movie? Dinner and a movie? It isn't hard.
