This auction. What was it about? Charity, apparently. Or something. In the end, it was just a bunch of people getting their hopes up. Imagine watching everyone around you getting paid for a high price, while you're left getting spare tickets to be a pity project. 

There has to be a better way to get a date than putting yourself on a stage to be ignored.

[Shooting Range]

There's a young woman here, hellbent on having fun with guns, and perhaps letting off some steam. She'll even try a rifle though it's not her usual. And it'd seem that she's a pretty good shot, too. Maybe even worth having a wager with.

[Christmas Eve - Nova - Various Bars]

Christmas means a lot of things to a lot of people. To Faye, it's another opportunity to have some drinks and attempt to unwind. Faye can be found in a few different bars, trying different atmospheres, hoping to find somewhere she'd enjoy drinking. She hasn't put much attention into her outfit, just a denim mini skirt and a tank top, because for Faye this was just another night after all. Faye is happy to drop herself on a stool at the bar, eyeing up what's going on around her.

But hey, it reminded me that it's not really what I want...Also only did it because I had nothing else to do that wasn't work-related. Even I get a little lonely when all my friends are happy in relationships.

[He is not kidding on that one. When he isn't working or related to food all he has is his Pokemon and occasional going to visit friends, but that was it. He was a little sad about the auction, but he already concluded he just wasn't someone anyone would like and he's accepted the only person who could is gone.]

One thing I did notice in this date auction, and the ones before, was that the women who got the most bids were the mean ones. That men continue to tease the women who kept rejecting them. Do men enjoy being rejected?

Well whatever the case may be, I just got here so I can't really say for sure. I can tell you I'm starving and I wouldn't mind getting something to eat with a hottie. I'm not really all that particular, but someone who's got enough confidence in their good looks to sign up for an auction in the first place at least deserves a little attention.

It so happens to be that the woman was not alone at the shooting range.

There is a black armored man holding a StA-3 Light Machine Gun in his hand and aiming at a target and peppering it with ammo. If you could see him closer, his eyes were red and glowing and he had a imitating air around him.

Between rounds, Faye takes a moment to look around and notice her surroundings. She pauses to watch the man in armour, wondering why he'd bother wearing any of that at a shooting range.

Sorry to hear that. If you're asking for advice, mine may be unbearably plain, but I believe it's better to simply ask one you're interested in, with two or three activities in mind. I had the best date of my life that way: quite apart from any auction fanfare.

If you're a man, at least. My advice for women would be more theoretical.

Fester! Good heavens! No, nothing so dire. I simply mean that men like to, at some point, pursue and win their woman. Granted, shier ones will need encouragement and a few indicators of interest, but taking their role is sure to unnerve.

As for what else you can do; forgive me, this will sound like a paradox. You must not let finding someone dominate your life, lest you turn monomaniacal. Instead, simply live your life in a very social, public way doing the kinds of things that interest you, and a person of interest will come. Like joining a club, or volunteer work. Things like that.
