Faye's Festivities [anon text and video]
[anon text]
This auction. What was it about? Charity, apparently. Or something. In the end, it was just a bunch of people getting their hopes up. Imagine watching everyone around you getting paid for a high price, while you're left getting spare tickets to be a pity project.
There has to be a better way to get a date than putting yourself on a stage to be ignored.
[Shooting Range]
There's a young woman here, hellbent on having fun with guns, and perhaps letting off some steam. She'll even try a rifle though it's not her usual. And it'd seem that she's a pretty good shot, too. Maybe even worth having a wager with.
[Christmas Eve - Nova - Various Bars]
Christmas means a lot of things to a lot of people. To Faye, it's another opportunity to have some drinks and attempt to unwind. Faye can be found in a few different bars, trying different atmospheres, hoping to find somewhere she'd enjoy drinking. She hasn't put much attention into her outfit, just a denim mini skirt and a tank top, because for Faye this was just another night after all. Faye is happy to drop herself on a stool at the bar, eyeing up what's going on around her.

Anon text;
Maybe I'm not down on my luck at all. Maybe luck has nothing to do with it. Some people are just better suited to being alone. That's all it is.

[He's not even sure if he should keep trying to help at this stage, but the fact that someone was this upset over that date auction just felt wrong. And maybe what they said there struck a bit of a chord. He knew what it was like to be alone. He was the type better suited for it.]
but I guess I ain't my business if you don't want it to be. If you change your mind and want some human... or well, cyborg company to talk to, I'm willing.
Not that I'm the best person to drown sorrows with but y'know. Can't help but try.
Anon text;
I'm sure you would be an excellent person to drown sorrows with.
Tell me, did you bid in the auctions? Did somebody bid on you?
*She could ask any time, but it was easier this way*
text;
But no, I didn't bid. Two of my good friends were up there, so I could have, but I think it'd come off as too sleazy to "win" them like that. Faye and Karla deserve better than that, as did a lot of others there.
[Says the guy who signed a certain someone up into that chaos, but he didn't say "everyone" deserved better.]
I know I'll probably just sound like a broken record, but it ain't worth getting worked up over what was some teenager's idea of a game. You deserve better than that, and you certainly deserve better than to think you're just a "pity project" to someone. People feelin' like that are one of the biggest reasons why these date auctions are such a dumb idea in the first place.
text;
There is always such a difference between what some people deserve and what they get. For others, they get exactly what they deserve.
*And she is beginning to think that this is the case for her. Despite feeling down about things, his words do help somewhat*
Well, I'm sure if anyone willingly walked into this and had a bad experience, then they know not to do it again. And I imagine they also know better than to judge against those who were 'forced' into it and yet still came out better than others.
text;
[And a waste of time in his eyes, but saying that outright might be too harsh.]
There's nothin' to judge from this no matter what the result was for people. Gettin' a low bid, high bid or nothing at all isn't gonna make you any more or less desirable or likeable as a person. Money, tickets or whatever isn't what defines someone. People are worth more than any monetary value.
Anon text;
Well. That's enough of all of that. I'm productive enough to stay balanced as a human being. And thst's something.
So now we all know to leave auctions well alone. Lesson learnt.
