Breaking News [ VIDEO | OTA ]
When: Evening of January 17
What: Ice Queen Plot information! tl;dr Winter ain't Winter and there's to be a royal wedding soon send help
Video - open to all but Winter
[The woman Spock has been seeing is kind of possessed, has kidnapped him, and is forcing him to marry her in three days time. Somehow, this isn't the craziest thing to happen to him.
He should probably reevaluate his life choices.
For now, though, he needs to get the word out there. By now some are bound to have noticed that Winter isn't herself, though the extent of the danger wasn't totally clear to him until he had peaked into her mind and seen the truth of the matter. It's a tricky thing they're dealing with, and while he doesn't want Winter to get hurt in the process of fixing this whole debacle, the possibility is there. As someone who has always believed in "the good of the many outweigh the good of the few," he finds himself troubled that the notion of her getting harmed in the process bothers him so much.
Pushing that thought aside for later, he clicks on the video feed. There's a slight green tint to his cheeks caused by the frozen cell he's been contained in; he'll have to regulate his body to handle the freezing temperatures after he spreads the word.]
I am uncertain as to how much time I have before Captain Schnee returns, so I will endeavor to be brief. [His voice is low, just in case a guard comes by.] Some of you may have noticed that the Captain has not been acting like herself as of late. I have discovered another presence in her mind which is clouding her thoughts and causing her to behave oddly, though I am not aware of who is "pulling the strings," I believe is the expression. Irregardless, it is imperative that she be stopped. In addition to the creatures she has terrorizing the streets of Fayren, she has captured and enslaved several civilians to do her bidding, while others have become no more than frozen statues decorating the castle.
[He stops suddenly, looking to the side as he hears footsteps. He resumes after a few moments pause once he's certain the coast is clear.]
From what I have seen, she is not allowing many guests, however in three days she is planning to be wed - to me. This may be the only time that she will allow outsiders into the castle, and as such might be the only opportunity to stop her. While I am fond of her in her normal state, I have not agreed to the wedding and I would prefer for any action to occur prior to the exchanging of vows. If anyone is able to assist, please respond.

I do not think this needs to be said but I will not be home tonight.
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

video; no winters allowed
[ Yeah Weiss doesn't sound impressed. She's definitely concerned though because no one else is acting oddly. When things go weird it's supposed to be a massive thing, but this is just Winter. ]
I'm coming over.
video; no winters allowed
I would advise caution, Miss Schnee. She is dangerous in her current state. While she recognizes me, she has some delusions as to the nature of our relationship. You may be her kin, but I cannot be completely certain that she will not react violently should you try to speak against her.
video; no winters allowed
[ Might as well have someone she clearly hasn't had interest in hurting to find out. If she reacts negatively..
Well, she'll deal with that then. Weiss isn't going to leave Winter alone though. ]
video; no winters allowed
[He'd love to help, really, but that's kind of priority right now. His rescue aside, it would put a huge target on everyone he has spoken to.]

[ And for her to see her sister. ]
video; no winters allowed
[He pauses for the briefest of moments, trying to determine the likelihood of success. It's not high, but it's there. Besides, Weiss knew the risks and she used to be a Guardian, and if she's anything like her sister she can handle herself pretty well.
He gives a curt nod.]
Very well. I shall request an audience and, granted the opportunity, make the suggestion that you should assist her with our wedding preparations.
[Private Video]
So that peacock is behind all of this. Well, that figures. She's always been one to establish her "superiority" over everyone else every chance she gets. So it's not at all surprising that she would pull a stunt like this.
[Can he tell that Qubine isn't fond of Winter in the slightest? He then lets out an exasperated sigh.]
However, I do agree that she must be stopped. But my size may be a problem, as I cannot fit into most human buildings, and I'm sure this castle is no exception.
[Beat.]
On the other hand, I would not be opposed to tearing that castle apart if necessary...
[Private Video]
He doesn't like him already.]
As I previously stated, the fault does not lie with her; she is being influenced by an outside force. This has nothing to do with "establishing her superiority" over anyone. [Not knowing Spock, Qubine likely won't be able to detect the venom in his voice. He knows Winter better than this dragon, and he's beyond certain that that's not how she rolls.] I believe this to be a psychic attack on her conscious.
[It could be a magic thing too, but he's far from an expert on that.]
Captain Kirk has informed me that he will be attempting a rescue operation. I would refer you to him. While we have not encountered this particular situation in the past, he has experience dealing with similar ones.
[The amount of times they'd had to escape somewhere was quite high. Turns out boldly going where no man has gone before is a rather high risk job.]
[Private Video]
I don't know about that. While "psychic attacks on our conscious" have been known to happen in this world, I highly doubt that is the case here. She's just showing a much greater degree of the pattern of behavior that she has shown since I've known her. I'd go into more detail, but I believe we can both agree that stopping her is more important.
I'll see what this "Captain Kirk" person has in mind...
[Private Video]
[He's arguing with the guy she's been seeing and he knows for a fact it isn't her fault. He's going to defend her as long as he has to.]
However you are correct that the top priority is stopping whatever is causing this. I ask that you do not inform me of his plan in case she discovers what it is we have discussed.
[Private Video]
...You can read minds?
[That's a scary thought...]
Whatever the case may be, she had better take responsibility for this instead of pointing fingers at everyone else. It'll take a lot of effort to redeem herself, particularly in my eyes, since she has earned my hatred well before this.
[Yeah, he has no qualms letting everyone know how much he despises the human bitch...]
[He then nods at the last part.]
Fair enough. We'll be there as soon as possible.
[Private Video]
Only upon contact. It is a practice I do not generally partake in. [There's a reason he avoids touching people.]
I am certain that she will accept the blame even though it is not all her own. [He pauses, letting Qubine's words sink into his head and debating if he should pursue.]
May I ask what Winter has done to earn such a level of loathing from you?
[He doesn't even need to touch the dragon to tell that it's quite intense. He isn't exactly being subtle.]
[Private Video]
...It started when she got up onto her pedestal and make a statement on the network, publicly slamming all the Guardians after the chaotic events of October. Additionally, she cut off everyone who disagreed with her and pointed out the flaws in her own assessment, ignoring any possibility that she could have been wrong. She claimed that she wouldn't tolerate bruised egos, but it seems more that she hung up on them to protect her own precious ego from bruising. That's just one example of her blaring hypocrisy. I won't argue that perhaps the situation could have been handled better, well...it was a very chaotic situation, in which each city had to deal with a separate crisis at the same time. We all did the best we could, and we'll strive to do better in the future.
I was in Attleton, where people's worst fears were coming to life. I was no exception, as I had to face my own worst fear as it tried to kill me. And yet she insisted that I should have been defending Fayren from silly costumes that were appearing on people, which were far less harmful! She claims that Weiss's "mad queen" stunt in Nova City was caused by those costumes, and she tried to hold me personally accountable for it, which is beyond ludicrous. Come to find out later that Winter had made the same mistake; she knew Weiss was acting strange and did nothing. Which was another example of her hypocrisy.
And then during the City Guardian debates, she made several jabs at me, citing my so-called "mistakes" in Attleton, which I chose not to respond to. I suspected that it was a pitiful attempt to provoke me. Whatever the case, that was pretty shady behavior for someone who claims to believe in "advancing from one's mistakes." She latches herself onto my "mistakes" as if her life depends on it. Or perhaps it's yet another ego booster for her.
Video, fully private....
... Captured and enslaved several civilians. Please... Define. Are we talking enchantment magic or similar, or force-to-work-in-the-mines-with-chains type?
Private video excluding Winter
From what little I have seen, the enslaved are being manipulated by a magical or psychic force, most likely. They seem free to move around as they wish, however they desire nothing more than to serve their "Queen". Those captured who have not been forced into servitude are either kept in cells similar to my own. So far I have not been instructed to perform physical labor, though I suspect that I may be a special case.
[Being the future king apparently has some perks, even if he wants nothing to do with it.]
Re: Private video excluding Winter
[Essei's caught on that the information she shares should be limited - so she won't mention to Spock that she might be of use in dispelling that.]
This unit will attempt to assist in an organized response.
Private video excluding Winter
[Funny. That's the advice he's been given to people who were looking to come here.]
I do not believe that I am in danger of physical harm, though I will endeavor to be careful in my interactions with her.
Re: Private video excluding Winter
[Private Text]
I'll get a team together for a rescue operation. How much time do I have to cook up a plan, are you in immediate danger?
[Private Text]
[Some real bro you are]
I am not presently in any danger. She does not seem interested in harming me in anyway. However I would prefer to make my visit a short one if it is feasible. I am unsure as to what security measures she has enacted.
Count me in. [the word around Fayren getting colder and the signs of icy fiends that emerged was suspicious. but he hadn't realized that things were getting this bad. he'll wait for a response, if any in regards to potential teams or a collective plan. Cloud could play wedding crasher and just barge straight in
instead of taking the stairs, and he may very well do that if Spock doesn't respond and he hears nothing from anyone else across the network][Video - Filtered from Winter]
Captain Kirk has informed me that he plans to organize a team. I advise speaking to him before proceeding in any manner.
[The last thing he needs is there to be four independent attempts that clash and make none of them succeed.]
... be careful. [he will seek out this Captain Kirk. if things got dicey, Cloud felt they could use his strength. that and he was no stranger to leading a team of his own]
[Honestly Cloud's in much more danger than he is. Winter won't harm Spock, but he's seen the end result of what she had done to others and he knows first hand that she is a capable fighter.]
Public/Private
[Private]
If you need another helping hand, I'm happy to lend mine.
[Though it sounds like they've got a pretty good group forming already. Still, crashing a wedding does sound awfully fun.]
Private - no Winter allowed
While Captain Schnee's mentality has been altered, she has not "gone mad". The outside force is influencing her decisions. If we are able to free her from its hold, I believe that she will return to her normal self. However as I am not aware of the source, I do not know how to sever the connection.
If you wish to assist, I will direct you to Captain Kirk. He is organizing a mission regarding these events.
video; filtered from Winter
Whoops. Sorry.
[Least helpful man in the world, right here.]
video; filtered from Winter | Bravo
[He'd thank Gale for his assistance, but now hardly seems the time, what with her becoming an obsessive psycho.]
video; filtered from Winter | priorities, Gale clearly has them
[He knew Winter had a stick up her ass, but he sure didn't think "crazy obsessive psycho" qualified under that.]
video; filtered from Winter | At least he knows what he wants
I was under the impression that in order to be a wingman the two parties must be close friends. I have never heard of a stranger partaking in it.
[He's basing this 100% on what he's observed from Kirk, though, so his he may be wrong about this.
You'd think he'd rather be discussing more the more pressing matters of his escape and freeing Winter of whatever is controlling her, but no. Kirk was leading a team and he's content to let it happen.
Besides, turns out it gets boring in an ice cell fast.]
video; filtered from Winter | Which really is probably a bad thing for all parties involved
[Gale of course may just be talking out of his ass. Setting people up (especially people like Winter) is just hilarious.]
Besides, doesn't mean we can't be close friends now! Howdy, name's Gale.
[One would also think that Gale would be trying to help on said more pressing matters, especially given that this was the focus of the broadcast in the first place... but nah. It's in Fayren, so who cares.]
Video; filtered from Winter | I love how unconcerned they both are
what could go wrongHe's honestly not sure how a friendship with this man could go, them being extremely different, but then again he and Kirk weren't bosom buddies from day one either, so who knows.]
I believe that it is more common for two acquaintances to become friends before progressing, though I am not adverse to the idea. I am Spock.
[That's it. That's all you get, Gale. You want to be friends? You're going to have to drive the conversation a little in the beginning, sorry.]
Forced marriages aren't legal as far as I know. Do you require to be rescued?
Captain Kirk is already working on a plan to free me. I would direct you to him.
[Video | No Ice Queen allowed]
Ah, good. I'll see how to help. If she treating you well or...?
[Video | No Ice Queen allowed]
My conditions are adequate. She has me in a cell for the time being, however she seems to be adverse to harming me, though that is likely due to her plans to wed me. Were I to refuse her again at the alter, I am not certain that she would grant me the same treatment.
[Video | No Ice Queen allowed]
A cell is bad enough, I wouldn't call those adequate. I'm sorry, Spock. We will try to come to your aid as soon as possible.
