Who: Cassian Lynch, Tannusen
Where: the rectory
When: backdated to the holidays lmao
What: fashion, and a discussion of past abuses -- Cassian edition
Tannusen, being the sum of all that he was -- a Fae, and a madman on top of that -- sometimes sprang things pretty much out of nowhere. This was one of those times, just chilling on the couch with Cassian, the tiger looked up from scrolling through the network on his phone.
"Wanna go on a date?"
Whelp.

The priest looked up for a moment, over his glasses.
"... What, to your pub?" That was a date, right.
Leaving the house equals date.
"Aye sure, tis been a while since I threw boxed vodka at a bartender. Me aim's gettin' poor."

Tangent averted, he got back on track.
"No, I mean to something fancy. Lots of holiday party things going on and I've never attended one without being someone's paid arm-candy."
no subject
"What-" A pause.
"A public occasion?" With all the stupid people here?
"What with the local average I.Q. bein' a lower number than me shoe size?"

"Don't ye speak of that idiocy, t'was the dumbest thing I ever did hear."
The hotness comment just added a nice, vibrant pink color to the mixture, his face clearly warming up fast.
"You're biased."

"Don't need to dress up, me day clothes are fine the way they are."

Cat.
"Trust me Cass, I'm totally into the whole forbidden fruit priest thing, and your uniform looks sharp as hell on you, but you're in a two thousand year old rut."
no subject
With the book.
"Tis a comfortable rut, I've got a house and a bed in here, and ye can't make me leave, damnit."

The fact that Tannusnen clearly saved it before it hit the floor, and didn't banish it from his sight entirely, was proof enough to Cassian there was something he might care about in it.
Which gave him a perfect reason to ignore the topic Yay!
"What's with the box, Tannusen?"
no subject
Flat and wide, opening it would reveal a sharply-folded set of clothing, all black, primarily featuring a textured velvet waistcoat. The shirt inside it was high-collared and, yes, there was a very lovely, matte metal cross strung around the neck and sitting on the center of the waistcoat's chest, pinned to hold it in place inside the box.
"I wasn't kidding about getting your measurements when we were swapped."
no subject
Finally allowed to look at the box, his expression went through a few expressions, a whole rainbow of them.
Surprise, interest, consideration and then...
"Tis a nice outfit yes but-"
Resignation.
"I can't wear it."

Silly, really.
"I... Well." Not really like him to be at a loss for words.
"... I don't... wear clothes like this... well." Perfect. A plus explanation. He tried again.
"Tis awful close fittin', and I'm not much of a... I wouldn't fill it out proper-"
Still trying.
"... Wouldn't look much of a man in 'em."
no subject
"Wait, 'not much of a man'...? You know skinny dudes aren't exactly odd, right?" Incredulous, but he couldn't help it.
no subject
"I don't got the face for it. The height or nuthin'. Shape and all that nonsense."
no subject
The tiger hadn't expected this particular road-bump. He was a bit baffled by it.

Well aware that it sounded ridiculous and yet here they were.

And of course, Cassian had looked the same back then. Or even smaller when he was younger.
Even Tannusen might've passed for a girl when he was young, but this lifetime had been in a modern era, and around a bunch of circus performers to boot. He hadn't really thought much about it.

The past.
"... Yes." Like air out of a balloon, he just deflated again, looking back down at the lovely clothes in the box.
"'Tis."
