WHAT : Bustlin' about with extra moneys in the pocket. Also getting busted by Natsu for possessions of dragon plushies.

[ After successfully Not-Tomb Raiding and getting payment for the most recent job (and Lucy hoped that the herb was actually going to work for that poor girl) it was time to do some well earned shopping. Not alone though, Neveren, the youngest member of Fairy Tail (kinda) was accompanying her. Her first stop is picking up some cooler clothing for herself and the kids since Regina was busy on a job herself. Next she stopped at a toy store, where she picked up something for him and herself. Her last stop was at the ice cream shoppe before heading back to Feyren to the guild. ]

[Natsu noticed that weird behavior right away. Still rather than ask outright what was wrong, he decided to let her think on it for a bit before she made her question.]

Do I want to what?

[If it was Lucy asking the answer was likely going to be yes.]

[ Okay just say it. Say it. ... say iiiiiiiiiit. ]

Do you want to go out... sometime? On a... ..a... [ Date. Say it. Say it! ] miss... ...outing..?

[ FFFFFFAHK. Try that again. ]

I mean... a... date... [ Beat. Holding breath and wondering why, WHY she even said that. Oh right. Because Raye and Blake both thought she should at least..one time... though she was watching him out of the corner of her eye, ready to babble a quick 'as friends' addition just in case he reacted weird. ]

[Of all the things he'd thought she'd ask, this was not one of them. So he's momentarily baffled but then he flashes a big grin.]

Sure! That'd be great!

[At the same time he was remembering what Battler told him so accepting was the only real solution.]

[ For some reason she was surprised by that agreement. She grins back, her arm tightening around his waist briefly. ]

...okay then... um. I..

I thought we could ... go out on a picnic? [ Just a day for them and them alone. They could go for a walk, have a picnic and if the night was clear maybe they'd even be able to see the stars. Just like..friends? ]

[Silly silly Lucy.]

A picnic sounds great! we can even go looking for a new place where we can set it up. Like an adventure ya know?

[He's more than happy to go out exploring with Lucy no matter where. ANd who knows they might find some wondrous site for their picnic.]

[ Yes, yes she is! Getting all worked up over silly things. Although she suspected he probably didn't catch the meaning and just thought they'd be hanging out as friends. Oh well. It was still worth it to spend time with him. She grinned, his mood infectuous as always. ]

Yeah, exactly..! There's tons of places we haven't looked around in Fayren alone yet.

[ Goodness, what is she going to wea-- wait, Natsu's as much said she looked great in anything. She didn't have to go nuts - though if she was going to treat it like a date she'd at least make a little extra effort. And even better, if they found some amazing site then it'd be even more important because it'd be like their special place. ... agh, such silly silly thoughts. ]

So um..

[ Jeez, what was with her anyway? She let go to collect the dragon plush, toying with its little paws. ]

When would you like to go?

[Exactly. overthinking things never brought good things for either of them. So honestly it was better this way.]

Then that's the plan.

[He smiles eagerly before she goes and asks something else.]

When? Well I'm fine with any time though I don't think it'd work right now.

NO no, now is much too soon. I mean, I haven't even made anything for it yet.

[ Not to mention psyche herself up for it. Still she giggles at his eagerness. ]

How about next weekend?

Figured that'd be the case.

[He sticks his tongue out cheekily before nodding to her proposal.]

That sounds good to me. Lots of time to get read for it.

[ Oh. OH. NOW he has the nerve to get -cheeky?- She smirks teasingly. ]

Hey now, don't go getting all cheeky. This little guy will go after you for things like that.

[ She held up the dragon plush all 'rawr rawr' like she was just barely able to hold him back from attacking. Oh how dangerous. ]

Yeah.. don't worry, I'll make your favorite things too.

[ And some new dishes to boot. ]

[Of course. Getting cheeky is the best distraction. Not that he's scared of the dragon plushie or anything.]

Well if the princess vouches for him I guess I should be on my guard~

[He's just playing now but at least the heavy mood from before i completely gone]

You let me know if you need anything though.

[ Of course not. When push comes to shove, he's better than any plush dragon. But that he played along was an excellent sign that the mood from before was gone for a while. So Lucy giggles, shaking her head a little. ]

You should! But don't worry, I'll tell him to go easy on you. [ She booped the dragon on the nose. .. and then she booped Natsu the nose, just because. ]

I will - but you're going to have your hands full with things already aren't you? You can leave getting things ready for the picnic to me.

[Bopped on the nose. That's new. though he doesn't seem to take it badly in any way so all's good]

How generous.

[The cheeky grin stays in place though.]

Eh but we're both gonna enjoy this. Don't wanna leave everything up to you. THat's hardly fair.

[ She can't help but stifle a chuckle, but she's gone from resting her arm around him to playing with the plush. ]

Fair, huh...? Well... If you want to put it like that...

If I were to let you help me with the picnic, then I should help you with the house.

[ Tooootally not looking at him, nope. ]

[oh crafty Lucy.]

H-How is that connected? I mean I'd ask for what you want in it anyway but um...

[Good cause he's not looking either not directly anyway.]

[ Hey he's the one who brought up fairness~! ]

I know but... it's not fair for you to do all the work either. Especially when the both of us are to benefit from it.

[ If she felt less flustered about the topic she might be amused at the indirectness of their glances. ]

[He's just trying to be a fair not!boyfriend you know. Heck if anything he should be the one planning shouldn't he?]

Mgh. I hate it that I can't argue back.

[Admits grudgingly.]

[ Well..! She's trying to be a fair not!girlfriend... so there~! Grinning at a sort-of victory she decides to compromise..sort of..instead. ]

If you really want to do it yourself, it's okay - but that means I'll prepare the picnic lunch myself. ...we can surprise each other that way. Okay?

[He lets out a mournful sigh. How is it that she manages to win most of these confrontations dammit. Must be the whole writer angle that makes her come up with just the right words to disarm him.]

Ngh. Fine we'll do it your way

[ Well he won the last argument, it was only fair~. But she giggles at that sigh, raising a hand to idly brush it through his hair. Shush she's not petting the dragon. Except she kinda is. ]

Don't pout - it'll be worth it, you'll see..!

[Well he's not complaining about petting or brushing or whatever. Actually it makes the defeat sting less in a strange manner.]

Yeah I know. Because you'll do your best to make sure it is.

[ Perfect! And she didn't even plan for that. ]

Of course! I know you'd do the same for me too. Nothing but the best.

[ They spoil each other so much it's disgusting. ]

[He'd have his doubts about that but oh well.]

Heh you betcha.

[And is likely yet another reason people around them are growing frustrated with how slow they are.]
