Throughout Genessia City - Action
(Teleportation was certainly something with which Khadgar was familiar, but never one he hadn't either initiated or at least been aware of, and never one in which he ended up in a metal coffin with currency, a key to a room, and a gift of jewelry. He was pleased, at least, as he stepped out of the coffin in the shallow pool with a muttering of "curious", to see that the greatstaff, Atiesh, a simple wooden staff with a raven carved atop it, had come with him, and he stooped, the box under one arm, and retrieved the weapon. In the hands of a nonmage, it would be nothing, of course, but in his hands, well, he'd see what this place had in store. Things back home were culminating, of course, and he had no way of knowing if this was some sort of demonic trick or not, but it required investigation regardless.
He wasn't startled by the hologram of Weiss, though he looked a little put off by her explanation as he pocketed the maps she indicated in the large bag at his hip along with the contents of the box he'd arrived with. He'd have a look at this "Commonspace" eventually, but first, well, the best way to get a look at a new place was from the sky, after all. He slipped the necklace he's been provided around his neck, having quite a bit of experience with such magical keys, and then willed a bit of swirling silver energy into the staff. The mists swirled and gathered around him and, in his place, was an overly-large black raven that flew off to get a better view of the surroundings.
He would land in the park, near the fountain, or on a bench to rest, or on a windowsill, or a fire escape, marveling at the strangeness of the place.
OOC: You are free to run into the raven pretty much anywhere. He's a big raven. He sort of stands out, and he can actually talk in that form, so there's that. Also, he's totally willing to change back. He's hella interested in this place.)
Video
(When the feed initializes, it's clear he's been playing with the device before he actually starts to use it. There are cameras of a fashion in Azeroth, of course, but nothing like this! At least, though, the network is afforded a man who appears to be in his late 50s, with silver hair and a pleasantly amicable expression.)
Greetings...Genessia? I think that's how I should address the lot of you. I've performed one on one transference before, but never anything like this! It's remarkable!
(He takes a breath, and for a moment has an expression one typically gets when they hear someone else's voice, the voice of reason, scolding them.)
But that really isn't what's important at the moment, now is it? As I was alone in the Bay when I arrived, I can only assume all of you have been here long than I have. That would insist you know something more about this place than I do. Before I go rambling off questions at you, though, I have a few of my own. Do any of you recognize me? My name is Khadgar, and I am an Archmage of the Kirin Tor of the city of Dalaran, an independent city-state on the world of Azeroth. Do any of those names ring any bells? I'm just trying to find a starting point, and then we can proceed.
(He gives the camera a smile and inclines his head.)
Thank you for your time.

Well met, Eliot Durant, and I had absolutely no expectations either way, so there's no need to apologize.
(And after that, he lapses into a silence for a moment.)
That's the trouble, isn't it? Where to start...do you know of anyone who's successfully escaped? The barriers are an interesting facet. In Dalaran, we use it to keep the city hidden. Is it something similar?
no subject
My understanding has been that no one leaves of their own will. I've been told that our homes carry on as if we've never left, as well. In regards to the barrier, I can't say for sure. I don't know what's beyond the cities, myself.
no subject
...you're saying we've been completely removed from our native timelines?
(Light's name, why didn't he pay more attention to Chromie? She'd understand, but his problems with paradoxes stayed his hand from studying time too closely...damn.)
Where did you get that information?

[He has the boyish enthusiasm of one called to answer a question in class]
His name meant "Keeper of Secrets"; a frustrating personality, no doubt. Might I have the one behind yours?
Video
(He answered the meaning behind his name immediately. Maybe it had something to do with Ted's mention of the other mage.
Does he know Medivh? Did he? One could certainly say that. He was what he was, after all, because of him. He'd been his teacher, his mentor, in many ways his father, and also his deepest betrayal.
That, of course, did nothing to explain how this man may know him, except that this place must be a divergent timeline. Medivh has been dead for 30 years.)
Yes, I...knew him. I was his apprentice, for a time. How is it you know him?
Procrastination pays off!
[Did that mean he was a particularly trusting soul, or that he was trustworthy? Or both? Either way, he seems to be reverently enjoying it.]
Oh, heh, well, we only talked a couple of times. He was here before, as you might've gathered, and now no longer.
[Ted did enjoy surprising people with his phonebook memory. It's what makes the otherwise transient socializing he does worth it. Still, something suggested this sorcerer's apprentice wasn't entirely merry.]
It does!

That blasted, stupid piece of machinery you're talkin' through is only interestin' until it starts goin' off what when ye don't want it to.
Or ye screw up a private message.
Guarantee you'll be huckin' it through a window soon enough.
video
(He pauses, almost as though waiting for a laugh. When he doesn't receive one, he just shakes his head slightly.)
Nevermind. I usually stick with more private private messages, but I'll have to whip something up here to pull them off. (He taps his chin, then nods.) I need a notebook.
(He chuckles, though, shaking his head again.)
I think I'll hold on to it for the time being, but I'll keep that in mind.
Re: video
More private is it? How d'ye intend on doin' that then, aye? Heard some bit about bein' a mage, ye any good with long distance communication type spells?
Don't blame me if it goes off while you're bathin'.

I guess you could install a radio in one... it'd be pretty fun to spook neighbors with it.

Action - outside of Belle's home
She's singing a warm tune as she dusts off her rather large collection of books. In her attempt to clean them they're scattered all over her home from the coffee table to the kitchen counters. There are even a few on the couch, any place she can think of that doesn't require placing them on the floor.
Her small garden has been placed outside so it can get some direct sunlight. Belle doesn't intent to keep the plants there for long because it's still a bit cold out but it'll be good for them to rest in the sun for an hour or so. She's placing her small rose bush outside when she sees the large raven land nearby.]
Hello. [She smiles kindly.] And what are you doing flying around today? Would you like a snack? I believe I have something that would suit you.
[Belle does not expect the bird to speak back to her.]
Action - outside of Belle's home
After choosing this particular well-cared for garden in which to rest momentarily,
he hadn't expected the owner and occupant to address him while in his raven form.
He looked over, head tilting to the side in curiosity as birds are want to do, and hopped closer.)
Hello! (Came the voice for a beak that looked unsuited for such sound.) What is it you're offering?
Action - outside of Belle's home
I have some freshly made bread and honey, if you prefer for it to be sweet. I also have some tea and water.
[Her expression is friendly and earnest.]
I'm afraid I don't know what birds prefer or if you have any preference yourself. I have other things as well, of course, so please, don't hesitate to ask.

(He doesn't seem put off by the idea that she doesn't know him. If anything, it almost looks relieved.)
But I was more interested in "Kirin Tor", "Dalaran, and "Azeroth". Just trying to see if there's anyone else from home here. We seem to have a strange habit of finding other worlds of late. Granted, those were mostly on purpose.
(Mostly.)

[Because she was sure that some people are lucky while others are not, like her. But she didn't mind that much since the friends she did have back home were people her mother told to be her friends, at least in her mind anyway.]
So the world hopping thing is something you are used to?

action - park
As she paused for a drink, she noticed the raven there and tilted her head. "You're new," she said absently. "I don't think I've seen ravens your size before..."
action - park
Mist swirled around the great bird and when it cleared, in its place is a man appearing in his mid 50s, with grey hair cropped short, clad in blue robes sporting a rather large satchel at his side and holding a staff roughly his height, topped with a carved raven not unlike the one she'd addressed.
He smiles once the transformation is complete. "I should think not, unless someone else has a magic staff around here that allows them to take a raven's form. If so, I'll be jealous." He inclines his head, though, and slides the staff into a sleeve attached to a strap across his back, taking a step toward her and offering a gloved hand. "Archmage Khadgar of the Kirin Tor of Dalaran. Well met."
Re: action - park
She glanced at his staff and the peculiar raven topping before asking, "You're a mage or a wizard or something like that? I mean, with the whole shapeshifting thing."

(And yes, he does look and sound pleasantly surprised.)
I am, yes. Well, that is, all things considered. (By the Light, he swears, the older he gets the more he sounds like Moroes.) And you? Are you well? I can only imagine the energies required to keep you, of all of us, captive here.

I am fine, Khadgar. Though you are correct, the edges of this place are... unique. I've only probed the extremities of Fayren, but there is absolutely a barrier keeping us in. However, I cannot shake a feeling of unease regarding said barriers as well...
