Multiple Option / Catch-All

[Because giving concerts on the comm is always the cool new thing okay okay.]

[Although "concert" is a stretch, but it's on a stage, and Rose Tyler plays a cover of Audioslave's Doesn't Remind Me, singing and playing bass.]

[Afterwards when she uploads the clip of it she adds:] What do you like just for what it doesn't remind you of?

[For action: Rose's new hangout is a tea shop in Genessia, especially showing Koishi the way the dragon pearls unfold and some forming lotus blossom designs in the bottom.]

[And then there's the formal date with 10. She's been putting it off, but she takes him ice skating and through the park, even on the swanboats despite it being the dead of winter. You'd think after recent events she'd be sick of ice and snow, but nope, not Rose. Not ever.]

[And in the Everglade, you'd think the human would draw more attention, but she walks about confidently and puts up posters advertising Torchwood Services and alternative food sources.]

Koishi loved tea. She really really loved it. And she couldn't wait for this little tea get-together... Which is why she was already there by the time Rose arrived. Not that she would be noticed at first.

"Hey there!" And then Rose was being hugged by tentacles. "Hello Miss Roses! How are you? I'm here now!" Nuzzle nuzzle. Happy as always.

Rose cheerfully spins Koishi around. "So you are!!" Luckily Rose and Koishi's cheerful energy seemed to infect each other, and no matter how angry and frustrated Rose got, Koishi hugs seemed to be an instant cure for them.

"I am! I am!" She was laughing as she was swung around letting go as soon as the spinning stopped and rolling her shoulders as the tentacles slid up into her sleeves.

"Thank you for inviting me. I love tea. I can't wait to drink some!" Her eyes were brighter than usual." What sort of tea do you have for me to drink? Please show me. I can't wait!"

A giant laugh. "ALL KINDS!" Rose spread her hands and spun around. "But let's start with some really fancy ones I've been meanin' ta show you for awhile, just didn't have the time, ffff. It's nice bein' the boss now, yeah?" Rose winked and got a clear tea pot with an innocuous looking tea ball. "You ready?"

Koishi followed, floating in the air. She tipped up her hat at the sight of the pot though. "Wow. I've never seen one like that before... It's very pretty. Maybe I should get my sister one like that. I bet she would like it."

She had no idea what sort of tea-voodoo she was in for.

"Yeah! I'm ready! But where is the tea? Don't you need leaves?" She was confused for now. But no doubt that would be remedied soon enough.

Rose beamed wickedly, and held up a finger. "Watch and behold!" she waved her hand mystically over the teapot, putting in the ball. For a couple of seconds all that happened was the color of the water changed, starting to yellow, but slowly the leaves began unfurling, and the more they did, the more they transformed into a work of art, expanding into a floating flower shape.

Koishi watched the little ball of tea attentively... for the first few seconds. Her eyes wandered a bit, seemingly tracking nothing... at least until the first bubbles started to rise. She blinked and turned her attention back to the tea, placing her chin on the table to watch, her eyes dimming in focus.

Her eyebrows raised subtly as the tea began to unfurl, the glow returning in full force as the ball of tea began to unfold.

"That's..." Her voice was absolutely full of wonder. "Is that magic? I bet it's magic miss! You didn't tell me you could create such beautiful things!" Turning to Rose, she was vibrating with excitement.

"I can do it too! See?" Throwing up her hands, it only took moments to fill the entire room with magical, thorny vines, blue and purple roses blooming along them before bursting into floral scented petals. Each petal drifted a short way before popping into additional displays of light and color. They were enough to rattle objects and might be a bit uncomfortable if they contacted bare skin, but they were otherwise harmless.

Welp. That sure is a thing. Rose blinks. First, she kept grinning the same wolfish coy grin, all about to explain physics and show Koishi how it worked on a straw wrapper too....

And then before she could the room was filled with roses.

And Rose... LOVES IT!

She throws her head back, laughing in delight, no matter how much it startled anyone else in there and instantly leans over to cup a few and smell them.

"Koishi!!!" Delighted squeal!! "That's fantastic! I can't do magic, but Mirajane said she'd teach me. Can you teach me this???!" Because rose suddenly able to grow roses anywhere? YEAH THAT'S A THING SHE WOULD GET A HUGE KICK OUT OF, OKAY OKAY.

The glowing flower smelled wonderful. Unfortunately after a moment of holding it the rose burst apart, the petals crackling and fading. It would leave Rose's hands (and face) stinging quite a bit. But nothing that couldn't be shaken off

"Ah- Hah!" Koishi was giggling. "You shouldn't put your face in danmaku Miss Roses. They may be pretty but they're still 'magical bullets.' It's how we duel where I'm from." If they were 'bullets' its likely Koishi had toned the potency back quite a bit to avoid actually hurting anyone.

"Oh! You want to learn Danmaku?" The little youkai seemed elated. "I dunno if I can teach you magic but I can try. But you don't need to know magic to play danmaku... It does help though."

POP POP POP!

Rose pulled her face back with a hard blush. That was like putting her face into fireworks!

But Rose just laughs despite the sting, "That's amazing!!!" All the giggles, "Mm! Ah... Mirajane said I might be able to in Fayren, everyone can there, but I -- I don't want to use them for bullets," a frown. "Is that okay?

"Well the whole point of danmaku is to make magic bullets. It's so immortal beings of god like power can duel without breaking everything and actually settle disputes. That way no one will get hurt."

Koishi was smiling hugely.

"You should learn to fly first though. I can help with that. I have pins that Miss Dolls helped make. They can help you fly."

Koishi finally drifted down, kneeling in the chair. Maybe she was ready for tea now that she wasn't bouncing off the walls and, well, filling the room with bullets.

"Yeah?" A head tilt and then Rose laughed and beamed, "Yeah sure! Sounds great!" A pause, "If you really think I can do that. I've never done anything like that before. Magic or -- well I was kinda learnin' telepathy because of Jack and the TARDIS and the Doctor, and Jack and the Doctor used it to contact me all the time, but I'm not really sure how to vice versa, yeah?"

"Well I dunno about telepathy. I can't do that anymore. But flying is easy with a bit of focus and the pin. Its super helpful." She was rummaging in her pockets. Eventually she pulled out a steel pin of a stylish little bird.

"Here you go!" She slid it across the table before reaching for the tea. It looked and smelled dark enough now. She managed to pour herself some with minimal spilling.

"I just know you would love danmaku. It's so much fun!

"Yeah?" A face scrunch, hopeful and bewildered at once. Even in the alternate dimensions she'd been in, there wasn't any magic she could do, the best she could do was all related to her dimension cannon and isolating what made each plane and universe the way it was. Although someone would argue her disappearing act was in itself a strange magic, but it wasn't. Being a ghost wasn't really as fun as it seemed.

"How's the pin work?" She held it carefully as if it might fly off on its own or act like pixie dust from Peter Pan.

"Yeah!" Siiiip. "Agh! Hot!" She stopped to blow on the tea. Though she'd probably burn herself at least once more before beign able to drink it. She was't a very patient youkai.

"Oh it's easy! But you have to put it on first. I'll show you how to use it. I just know you'll think its super fun!"

Well, far be it from Rose to let a little bit of life-threatening danger stop her from doing anything in the name of fun. She put it on right away and just watch Koishi for instruction.

"Ok. Now you have to focus on it. I'll help okay? You'll get it eventually."

Rose could feel the little youkai in her thoughts, nudging her focus and subconscious. It was almost like working out a muscle she had never used before... But there was something there. Even if it was not necessarily something she would get right away.

Lea was discovering a fact about being a Deputy Guardian in winter; patrolling in the snow wasn't much fun. Yes, the cold didn't bother him as much as it bothered some, but it was still slushy and gray and generally unpleasant. Thus when lunchtime rolled around, he was eager to get inside somewhere even if it wasn't the type of place he'd normally go.

He was looking around for a free table when he spotted Rose. "Hey, Rose!", he said smiling as he approached. "Long time no see. How's it going?"

"Okay!" A beam. "Want a seat?" Rose kicked the chair out carefully so he could join her.

"Sure," he said, gladly taking the offered seat. "And glad to hear it."

"So, any idea what's good here?", he said. "I was out patrolling and mostly stopped in to get out of the snow for awhile and have some lunch."

"Everything." God Lea, how have you not learned this vital lesson yet? Never ask Rose Tyler's advice for good taste in anything. "Especially the tea." See how helpful she is?

"Patrolling?" A finger snap. "Guardian stuff?"

No apparently not. But Lea just laughed. "Well that's informative," he said. He snagged a menu from the small rack in the center of the table and began looking it over as they talked.

"Yeah," he said. "A Deputy Guardian's work is never done, even when it's gray and slushy outside. The cold doesn't bother me as much as it might some people, but I'm still looking forward to spring."

"Sandwiches! I try a new one every time I come in."

A wry grin to the latter part, "Keeping the city safe though, yeah?"

Lea nodded. "Well then out of the ones you've tried so far, which is your favorite?", he asked. "Because honestly most of them look good to me."

"And yeah," he said. "trying to, anyway. Beats the other half of the job, which is sitting inside doing paperwork; honestly, even this time of year, I'd rather be out patrolling than doing that."

"Ummmmmm," faaaaavorite. "Cranberry and turkey! And dill pickles to go with the chips!"

A tongue lolling grin. "Paperwork." Rose laughed. "Ironically I'm doin' msot of it for Torchwood, but it still doesn't seem like that big a deal. I must be doin' it wrong." A shrug and face scrunch and finger over her lips. Their secret. "Oops."

"Sounds like a plan," Lea said. And a moment later it was when a waiter came around to take their order. In addition, Lea ordered a cup of spiced chai tea, just because it sounded interesting.

"Well that probably depends partly on what kind of paperwork it is and how much you have to do," he said. "Still, I don't have it half as bad as my boss does; David's practically buried in the stuff."

"Forms, finances," Rose crinkled her nose, "Legalese."

Good choice on the tea, Rose approves.

"I should pro'lly hire someone. What's the paperwork David's got?"

"Ugh, legalese is the worst," Lea said, joining Rose in the somewhat disgusted nose crinkle. "I don't have to do a lot of it, but what I do have to do is stuff you gotta be extra careful of. Dealing with evidence for crimes and stuff."

"And you name it, David's got it," he said. "Guardians don't exactly run the cities, but they do make a lot of decisions and all of those decisions require a paper trail. Gotta make sure all the 't's are crossed and the 'i's dotted and all that. Though finances are probably the worst. I don't know how he does it; I can barely do budgeting for Xion and I and our apartment, but he manages to get everything together for the whole office and a lot of city programs too."

Ice skating is the best and best day because Rose finally is giving him the date he won.

"Come on, Rose. Try and catch me!"

"What do I get for it?" she teases, but quickly skates after him, reaching out her hands for his.
