I hope other idiots take this as a lesson to start cleaning up after themselves, or they could always start answering questions. Otherwise we might see a whole spate of fires wherever suspects of missing person cases were! That'd be just terrible!!! [He's not even trying to act with it, allllllll deadpan.]

I don't believe threatening arson is very diplomatic.

Someone knows the location of something very important. Someone else has been stealing powerful important things. Yet somehow no one here saw a thing, knows anything, or wants to be helpful.

Maybe if they were better neighbors, someone would have helped clean up their cigarettes and booze bottles. [SPREADS HANDS WITH A SHRUG.] But if you're not even going to take care of your own trash, don't be surprised if no one takes care of you.

So, what if a Good Samaritan was to meander over and offer to help with said "trash"? No good deed goes unpunished, I'm sure but the offer is there.

Then Good Samaritan should make sure to talk to the refuse and try to think on what one Guardian: Grell Sutcliffe would do or want.

[Rubs a hand in his hair. He feels like an idiot every time someone asks that. He could have protected her if he was with her, if it was in their home, but EXACT TIME AND DATE... Or location, or HOW she was lured out, with promises of what... He was a terrible captain. Grell was indomitable. IMMORTAL. So Marco didn't bother asking things like where she was going, or for how long. Even beyond that, such words and answers wouldn't mean anything to him. His brain literally couldn't compute it.]

But as you said... Grell's not had a shortage of enemies no matter where we go. It would have to be someone more powerful than Emerald, however. I've seen Grell duel demons with nothing but her chainsaw and teeth. And she bit my phoenix tail, which was when I decided I needed to marry her. Whoever messed with Kitten had to be more than just physically or politically powerfully strong.

[Augustine is quite certain that this alleged phoenix is much more cheerful when not promising fire, hell, and brimstone.]

Emerald? [That's a new name he hasn't heard before. The quill jotts the name quickly within his notebook and leaves a few question marks by it.] Even if Emerald herself cannot overpower Miss Sutcliffe, she might know of someone who can.

In fact, she was the one keeping him from freaking out with the blackholes and darkness!]

[Finally Marco's eyes narrow. He knows one thing.]

[He glances at Thatch, all but telepathically communicating with his right hand man, thinking through whether the information could hurt her or them.]

Children. She loves them. Our son is protected, so she wouldn't have been fooled by that, but if someone was kidnapping children she would go alone thinking she could handle it. And normally she could. But she wouldn't leave if there was even one child still in danger. [Thus no teleporting, especially if there was more than she could carry to safety, and just expecting Marco to find her.] Look for actual kidnappers, and if there's an underground ring of slavers, she wouldn't leave until they were dealt with no matter what the cost of pain to her.

[Augustine's right brow twitches in mild annoyance once the Count is mentioned. Soma told him that Dracula once waged war against God and summoned his army of the undead to feast upon the murderous Wallachians but this? To think that Count Dracula would do such a thing here or even attempt to in Genessia is quite disgusting.]

If there's a slavery ring in the Everglades, then your wife definitely would've sought to stop it. This is her jurisdiction after all and from your claims, she shares a similar weakness much like myself for the little ones.

And therefore; enemies as well. Fayren we've checked, she hasn't come through. I can't think of anything in Attleton to interest her though.
