[For anyone that's paying attention today, there's a weird video that comes over the network. The closeup of a face that looked clearly irritated, along with a large burn scar on one side. The perspective of the view turning back and forth as the young man turned around his device a few times. Making an annoyed sound in the process.]

This is so stupid!

[Hopefully no one gets sick as the landscape zooms by in all directions before being turned to the ground. Giving a view of brown boots with a gold stripe going up the front, the toes of the shoes curled upward.]

How can they call this a smart anything! It's not smart at all!

[Someone might have not read his instructions thoroughly out of impatience and is now doing this wrong.]

[Katara, unlike Zuko, had thoroughly read through the welcome materials, and is attempting to figure out the device herself when she hears a familiar voice.]

Zuko??

[Relief floods over her almost instantly; she’s not here alone as she had suspected, and if two of them have been pulled away, there’s a chance the others might be around as well.

…She is a bit alarmed though. The device seems sturdy, but she knows how quick his temper tends to flare-]

H-Hey! Don’t break it!

[How’s she supposed to find him if he breaks the communication device???]

[He knew that voice right away, especially when she started scolding him. The view turning back around to show his face.]

I'm not going to break it! ... Wait, you're here too?

[Yeah he pretty much thought the same thing she did.]

[Ah, there he is. Her brow furrows a little as she searches for any sign of his injuries, but the way she’s holding the phone isn’t exactly helpful. He’s okay enough to throw a tantrum, so she’ll focus eksewhere for the moment.]

I guess so... Have you seen any of the others? How are you feeling?

[Okay, maybe she’s not focusing entirely elsewhere, but she sure does look unnerved for Katara. Hard not to be stressed given where they had been and the shock of not being there now settling in.]

[At least seeing someone he knows helps to calm him down a little. Though he's still looking perplexed.]

No. And I'm fine.

[Relatively. He's pretty sore but he's standing and moving. He looks around though when asked where he was.]

[Yeah he hasn't gone far at all. He can't move too quickly.]

[A little girl caught the video after deciding to take a look at what's going on. She was expecting chances to catch interesting info about this world, but instead got a broadcast that made her want to put it down before motion sickness sets in.]

[Sorry little girl! He has no idea what he's doing. In fact, since he's got the thing upside he doesn't realize what's going on when he hears a sound.]

[It wiggles again as he shakes it and puts it to his ear.]

[Oh snap! Her own device was open as well! Though she wasn't actually caught, she was pretty much caught either way. She might as well speak up and be friendly.]

[ It takes her a long moment to work up the courage to say anything. Mostly because this post is a little too reflective of the first time she'd met the previous Zuko, too much of a reminder of one of the things she'd dreaded for years since he'd left that time: he probably wouldn't remember her.

It took her a while to convince herself that was probably better, that things would be far more complicated if he did. It still hurt not to be remembered by someone you cared a great deal for. Which is why she decides to respond with voice instead of video. ]

There are instructions in the brochure. It'll automatically be translated when you read it, and you're going to regret it if you throw this thing away and break it and have to pay for a new one once you understand what it does.

[ Her tone clearly isn't a threat, more like someone who's seen the regret happen before after a rash action. It's easy enough to write off though, considering she has the same voice as the hologram woman in the Bay, if somehow even less cheerful. ]

.... It's talking.

[Considering he only hears sound and sees no pictures as he turns it around again, Zuko assumes that the device itself is speaking. That's what you get for calling it stupid, Zuko!]

That weird lady is in this thing too?

[Yes he recognizes the voice from the hologram that he barely even listened to. Having walked away just before the whole 'This is where most people stop listening' bit. He scowls at the device.]

The only thing I'm interested in reading is how to get back.

I'm Weiss. What you're holding is a device that allows you to communicate to multiple people across a distance, provided they're in this world. I'm using the voice chat because I don't want to use video right now.

[ Look she's not going to lie about it, even if she isn't going to tell him that it's just because she's not in the mood to deal with it. Though the tone she's taking is getting slightly more annoyed, even if it's less at him and more at one clear fact. ]

You'll get back whenever this place wants you to go back whether you want to go or not, Zuko.

Take a breath and look at the front part of the device that looks like glass. There is a small dot. That's called a camera. There's more instructions, but at least those of us who can communicate with you can see your face.

[Congratulations Riza, a voice of reason, which actually gets Zuko to pause and listen. Turning the device back over he peers at the screen, and then there's a closeup of one golden eye as he looks at the tiny camera. Then back out again.]

It can do that?

[What even is this sorcery.]

It's strange isn't it? The advances in making things easier to communicate are really impressive here.

[And she's giving an even softer smile because now he seems calmer than the initial outburst.]

It's nice to meet you Zuko.

[She notices the burn scar almost instantly, but isn't going to talk about it out of courtesy. She understands how scars can hurt more than just physically. It does however make her partial to wanting to help him.]
