[Action] ~ Practicing Magic

It had taken her awhile to find the perfect place but she soon found a corner of the city where no one was around. She prefered somewhere far away from the residence of the city to practice.

She started by focusing the dark spell and casting it to hover around her. Three dark spheres of matter orbit around her as she focused. Ultima. Her focus faltered and the spheres shrink before slamming into the ground at her feet.

As the dust settles she carefully rose from the ruins. Terra managed to keep the explosion small but she knew some people would come running after seeing the plume of dust. It wasn't so bad. Only the ground was destroyed.

She brushed herself off trying to figure out what to do next.

Terra looked at her work and then back at the girl in white. The outfit brought back some memories of the military and none of them were pleasant.

Terra's unsure what this person might want so she answers hesitantly. "Yes" She hopes she didn't do anything bad.

Honest girl. Well, that or she couldn't come up with a creative fib. It's true that Satsuki doesn't look particularly friendly, but she glances from side to side again.

"Interesting. I do not see any weapons in your hand." she replies, "I also do not see any traces of your foe. Did they somehow escape?"

Terra shook her head. "I was practicing my magic." It just happened to explode in her face.

Magic? Satsuki is extremely interested in magic. What's even more curious, though, is how.. Soft spoken this girl is. Satsuki knows she can be a bit intimidating at times, but she's uncertain why one that can form a crater this large would be so.. Shy?

"I see. My weapon of choice is this." she holds up her sheath, grabs the handle of her sword, then withdraws it just a little to reveal some of the black blade within.

After it's resheathed, in an attempt to show some courtesy, she offers her hand to shake. "I am Satsuki Kiryuin, Deputy Guardian of Nova City. Where I am from magic, at least in this form, does not exist."

Terra looked over the girls weapon with interest. She knew many who fought with weapons because they couldn't use magic.

"It's not very common in my world. It's just something that I know."

She needed to practice and maybe regain more of her memories.

"I'm sorry if I disturbed you." She is polite and direct.

That means that Terra isn't from the same world as Fairy Tail. That's interesting, though she doesn't know quite enough about magic to tell this one and the Guild's apart.

"'Disturbed'? Hardly, I was on my way to Nova city when I had heard the spell; it was my own curiosity that brought me here." she replies with a shake of her head, then, "Might I be so bold as to ask for a demonstration."

Terra looked hesitant but she nods. "It might backfire again."

Three dark spheres of matter orbit around her as she focused. Dark electricity jumped between the sphere as Terra focuses on keeping them in the air around her.

Once her focus was at it's limit she tosses the spell into the air causing a larger explosion in the sky.

"I shall keep that in mind." Satsuki isn't certain what to expect, but should she keep enough distance, she should be able to evade if things go awry. Her hair blows from the backwind of the channeled orbs.

Thankfully things do not, and her brows raise following the massive explosion. Immedietly something clicks.

"So the first time you cast, it did not raise far from the ground.." she murmurs, then looks to Terra again, "... And you managed to survive that?"

Terra looks over. "The first time I casted I lost control and it slammed into the ground. I have a high tolerance for magic." It just sort of happens when you practice a lot of strong spells. "Plus it's my own magic."

Resistant to magic. That somewhat makes sense, though it does raise a couple other questions- But that can wait for now.

"I see. You mentioned that magic is uncommon where you are from.. Do you dislike your abilities? Or is that something others admire?"

"Just the opposite actually. People in my world fear magic and they hate those who use it." Terra hopes the girl doesn't ask more questions. Honestly she doesn't remember all of her past or her world.

"I see; my apologies." Satsuki is willing to let that drop, "I wonder how you feel about Fayren, then, assuming that you have visited the area?"

"I dont think I have. I haven't visited most places around here." She hasn't really wondered the area to much. She just wants to go home.

"Perhaps you should, then. Fayren is a sub-city of Genessia that harbors a significant number of people blessed with magical abilities."

Though she'd be really surprised to know Terra actually wants to return home.

"Practicing without an opponent, while it has it's uses, oftentimes is not the most efficient means of training."

Terra nods. That description sounds familiar maybe she has been there? "I'm afraid I don't know the area very well still but you are right. Practicing in a fight helps with reaction times as well as multitasking in combat." Terra is still going over some basics.

"I see. It does take some time to learn everything on top of adjusting to the culture shock," Satsuki murmurs. "That said, I would offer to assist, but I have already mentioned my limitations."

She feels she has little left to offer other than a folded sheet of paper; a general map of Genessia City and the connecting sub-cities, which she reveals then offers to Terra. "You may find this of use, then. I keep them on hand for new arrivals."

"Thank you." Terra gives her a small smile. "It's nice to meet you too. I don't know many in the city."

"Is that so.. I have noticed it can be a little difficult to really mingle- more difficult for some more than others," Satsuki replies, and is very pleased to get an opportunity to promote the school she's been working on. "You may or may not have heard that there is an Academy for denizens such as yourselves being contructed. Should it gain enough students, I feel it would be an excellent meeting grounds for those who desire to meet and better understand one another."

"I plan to speak more about it in the coming weeks. If you would keep an eye out and provide some feedback, I would be most appreciative."

Terra looks at Satsuki thoughtfully. "Academy? What is it for?" Not that Terra has ever been to school and she is a warrior. She would have been turning 19 this year if she was still at home.

"Ideally everything," Satsuki replies, "I have found that many arrivals here find themselves directionless and oftentimes alone. My plan is to create an educational facility that will provide that direction as well as form a better community."

"I believe we need to work together. Segregation has proven to be a major hindrance in productive activity; discovering a path home for example, and so I seek to correct this."

"I see." Terra wasn't very comfortable with the idea of a school. There was only one person she was okay taking orders from and that was her uncle. It was hard for Terra to trust people.

Satsuki stares at Terra for a moment, "Something appears to be troubling you. It would be more helpful if you would tell me what rather than keep it to yourself."

Terra shakes her head slowly. She had always been the shy type. "I'm sorry. I'm just nervous being in a city like this."

"Understandable. Adjusting and approaching others can be quite the hurdle to overcome.. Perhaps that is something else I should keep in mind. That said, you have nothing to apologize for as I had wrongfully assumed you had issue with my idea."

"I too found the situation overwhelming when I first arrived. But you cannot allow your fear to control you. All it takes is observation, and asking questions, and upon understanding you will find that fear will fade away. We are all from different worlds but we are also in the same situation; you should find plenty willing to assist you."

She has heard otherwise but she wished she could believe the girl. She gives her a small smile. "Thank you"
