[Action] ~ Practicing Magic

It had taken her awhile to find the perfect place but she soon found a corner of the city where no one was around. She prefered somewhere far away from the residence of the city to practice.

She started by focusing the dark spell and casting it to hover around her. Three dark spheres of matter orbit around her as she focused. Ultima. Her focus faltered and the spheres shrink before slamming into the ground at her feet.

As the dust settles she carefully rose from the ruins. Terra managed to keep the explosion small but she knew some people would come running after seeing the plume of dust. It wasn't so bad. Only the ground was destroyed.

She brushed herself off trying to figure out what to do next.

Terra looked back at the crater before addressing Ryu. "It's was magic in a more pure state than elemental. It was just magic."

Her eyes looked back at Ryu. She doesn't want to say too much incase he wasn't on her side. She tried to asses his character but soon gave up. Terra was never good at reading people but it didn't feel like telling him would be a bad thing.

"You must be really talented then! From what Nina has told me most non-elemental magic is more difficult to learn. I'm impressed." He answers with a smile. Though Ryu has plenty of secrets on his own, there isn't much given away by his physical appearance, though Terra might be able to sense a power hidden within him.

Aside from that, he's fairly unassuming as far as dragons walking around disguised as teenage boys.

Terra just nods. She isn't sure how to take his excitement. Magic is usually feared in her world. "Thank you"

It's all she manages to say at the glowing boy in front of her.

"Er... I'm not bothering you or anything, am I?" He asks with a sheepish grin. He doesn't want to trouble someone just because he's excited at the prospect of something vaguely familiar. "Sorry, I just wasn't expecting to see something like this here. Magic is really common where I come from, I didn't know what that might be like for people here."

He figures if she's training, she probably wants to get back to it, but maybe there's a way he can help somehow.

"No. It's just..." Her voice was soft and she was trying not to be nervous. "I'm not used to it. In my world magic is feared and uncommon."

Ryu shakes his head, looking at Terra with a smile. "I know it probably doesn't look like it, but you're not alone in people being afraid of you. For what it's worth, I don't think you're scary at all." His sympathy was plain in voice and expression. This poor girl must have been scared of taking a risk as it was using her power in the open.

"You don't have to worry, I can keep a secret."

That made Terra smile as a little giggle escaped her lips. She didn't mean for it too and it surprised her. Her smile softened to a point where it was almost gone. "Thank you."

It was nice to know someone who was similar to her. Knowing that people were scared of you when you could never understand why, even when you knew the reason.

He smiles, happy that she's laughing at least. It means they've hopefully broken the ice. "I'd show you what I'm talking about, but I'm hoping I don't have to use it here." He answers with an awkward smile. Though part of him thinks it would only be fair to show her his power, he wants to keep it hidden for the time being.

"So what other kinds of magic can you do?" He asks, a little fascinated to see what Terra can do.

Terra understands not wanting to show things now but the offer made her relax a little. The smile is gone and in it's place a static expression. "A lot of thing. Healing magic. Elemental magic and then this." she gestured to the crater.

"I was never very good at elemental or attack magic, but I'm good at healing magic. So you know if there's ever an emergency." He says, demonstrating with a spark of green energy swirling around his right hand. "Beyond that, I guess you could say I'm just your average guy." Or as much as one could be average with his kind of skills.

"I wouldn't call you average." Terra's voice is light when she speaks. It's clear she is getting a little more comfortable but part of her is closed off and hiding. Like a scared child. She brings her arms in front of her and crosses them defensively. "But thank you for your offer. If I need help I will make sure to call." Her tone doesn't betray her discomfort. She is trying hard to be more social.

"Well, that's partially right. There's nobody I know who can fish as well as I do." He answers with a chuckle. For a moment, he saw Terra a bit more unrestrained. He doesn't quite know what her story is, but it seems to him like the girl just needs a friend to coax her out of her shell, especially with the terrifying prospect of how people might view her power.

If anything can be said for Ryu, he's definitely perceptive. Her body language is pretty clear to him as far as how she's feeling.

"Fish?" Terra has been trying a lot of foods since her memory loss but she doesn't remember that one. "What does fish taste like?"

Some memories were harder to remember than others and food was difficult. She mostly remembered eating army food which was barely edible.

"It depends on the fish and how you prepare it." He answers, she might notice his eyes lighting up with excitement since they're now on a topic he's passionate about. "There are probably as many ways to prepare a fish as there are fish in the sea, that's not even taking into account different cultures, or even different worlds."

Truly, it was staggering to him. But he has a wide smile on his face all the same. "Though the kinds of fish you can get also varies by what may be locally available."

"Can you make this fish?" Terra was blown away by everything he said and found it very overwhelming but now she wanted to try it. To taste these things that he was talking about. Could they really be so great?

"It depends on how you want the fish prepared. If I had some mackerel, rice, and vinegar, I could make some sushi for example. Though I guess that explanation doesn't mean much if you've never seen sushi before." He exclaims with enthusiasm, it probably didn't help matters the poor guy hasn't eaten in awhile.

"Of course I need somewhere to prepare it too. But trust me, I can whip up something you'll love." And it's something he's absolutely confident in. If he can prepare sushi that a man who hates fish loves, no doubt he'll be able to make something tasty for Terra.

"I would like that." It was odd that something so simple had Terra's full attention. She didn't look happy but her soft voice betrayed her feelings.

"Well, when I get something worked out, you'll be the first to know!" He answers with a smile.

Terra gives him a small smile. "Thank you. I can't wait."
