001 - [Video]

[The camera flips on to a face of what looks to be a bedouin with his eyes ringed in coal and the way he's covered from head to toe. As he looks at the device, he removes the cloth covering his face, and behind it is the scarred face of someone who couldn't be any older then twenty-one, but despite the scars, his features haven't lost any appeal. It's almost unnaturally handsome with strong features to it. The only thing that gives away that this man isn't from the desert is his bright blue eyes which aren't common in that part of the world.]

It seems my dress is no longer appropriate for this climate. You'll have to all forgive me while I adjust. It's been a long time since I was last in a city, and this one seems to hold quite a few differences from the ones I'm familiar with.

[At least from his reaction, he saw the hologram.]

I wish I could say this was the first I've been sent to another realm, however it's not, though this place seems far more pleasant then the other realms I've been in previously. Still, I suspect there is likely a catch as there always seems to be at least one in such places. I would appreciate anyone that would be kind enough to fill me in.

[His speech has been almost formal as if it had been drilled into him so hard that he didn't even notice it himself.]

As far as I can tell, this place is an interesting nexus to settle in. Then again, I've only been here little more than a week myself.

I've had my interactions with people before. When it's necessary.

[In other words, her teasing is somewhat correct. He's used to mostly being on his own.]

If you've only been here a week then you may or may not be able to tell me much. It would all depend on how much you've manage to learn in that week.

I'd say I've learned a few things. Living here costs money after all so a job may be a good idea in the future.

Beyond that, some of the other cities are interesting...depending on your preferences.

It's not that I like being alone, but I've had my reasons.

The only one I've visited so far is Everglade. I rather enjoyed it, then again..it is a haven for the supernatural.

People who react poorly often make bad decisions as well. Keeping your head is how you often make good ones. But I also understand that not everyone can keep enough of a grasp on their emotions in such situations to keep their head.

[Well, that's a long sigh, and a bit of a twinkle in her eye. She relates too well, but... for some reason, the take on emotion has her a bit amused, be it her own bitter memories or just... the irony of knowing.

He does give her pause, though, when he counters her, and there's an almost flicker in that perfect brow of hers.]
