A good afternoon and salutations to you all!

I apologize for my recent silence. I've been having so much fun training with my new Pokemon friends that I lost track of my purpose. But I'm feeling in tip-top shape again thanks to them! And, ummmm... Well, so! I kind of need a job...?

My name is Satou Kuroneko, for those of you I haven't met. I come from a world of magic. I'm trained in a slight military capacity for battle. In particular, I hunt down and capture criminals. So if there is work like that to be done here, I would like to know about it. I'm prepared to demonstrate my qualifications.

A-Also. I can do a little bit of healing? And, uh. I can make stuff! In fact, if the law enforcement here would like to get in contact with me...? And well. Basically, if I have the blueprint and materials then I can make most anything. Likes clothes, or uh. [ Handguns. She's not about to announce herself as a magical girl arms dealer, though, that would be so awkward. ]

So anyway! If anyone needs help, let me know! It doesn't even have to be a formal job. I wanna help out~!

[Unfortunately, Ted likes the prospect of magical armaments very much and the prospects of a teenage girl ~~however sinfully magical~~ not at all. It doesn't help that he has an eye on the life of a criminal himself.]

Blueprints, eh? Clothes I could certainly use. Even a witch might have a hard time believing what sort of diverse bodies one must design around. Are you used to alien fashion?

Alien fashion...? Well, I only know the fashion styles from home...

But I can learn. Do you have pictures of what you want? We can start from there, Ted.

Alas, only in my head, sadly. You'd have to design around a dorsal fin, I'm afraid. It's a body type so rare not even the imagination of the internet can provide any suitable imagery. Your own imagination would have to suffice.

So you're used to the more traditional form of man, then? When the time for gift-giving comes around, I'll think of a few things for my acquaintances. How long would it take you, by your estimate, to sew something from scratch?

Haaah... Well. If you can provide measurements, then I can try... If it doesn't look right then I can probably recycle the fabric..

And I am. We try to blend in with humans, at least... And uh. It's not quite sewing. As long as I have the materials, I can use my magic to sew faster. So it could take... a few hours?

Oh! Well, er, you blend in very well. Certainly had me fooled...

[And here he thought "witch" was just a...vocation?]

Before I plan any more, can you tell me more about the nitty gritty of this magic? I'd like to hear how lawful it is.

You bet! [Smug, vain witchy here who tries too hard.]

My magic is an extension of my will. I turn the emotions that human hearts create into energy, then weave than energy into spells. Usually just my emotions, cuz it's rude to play with other peoples' hearts. However, I cannot create what doesn't have the potential to happen by human hands. If I want to make clothes, I need the materials. And if I want to create or destroy, I need the appropriate amount of emotion to make such things happen.

For the most part, my magic allows me to accelerate things that would happen naturally. I need to understand the science of it and stuff. Breaking the laws the world set in place is a messy no-no! Does that help you understand at all?

A little; being non-magical by the estimate of one well-versed in such, I suppose all of it must be known by abstraction only. So there's no trafficking with spirits, then? No top-down commerce with nature or anything?

... Nope!

That sounds like the magic in storybooks. I can't do that kind of thing. The only spirits I've met are ghosties, and it's hard to communicate with ghosts.

Huh. How strange it is to think emotions mean so much, and are so easily convertible to power. And to think I'd have reckoned the passions to be but passing, ephemeral things.

[He ponders to himself. This sort of thing was happening on a global scale. Could Satou be a key to a mystery or two?]

Say, can that magic of yours work backwards? Is reverse-engineering possible? Just to satisfy curiosity.

[Ted's all too eager to do whatever he wants sans the law anyway, and accepts the explanation with hasty, complete satisfaction.]

Well then! That's probably all right. And it takes only hours? That'd be wonderful!

[Because he's so poor at planning ahead.]

I'll get to work seeking artists and materials for my collection of things, and let you know should a birthday or some other cause for celebration comes up.

Emotions are amazing! They can really change the world. I'm sure you've felt something so passionate and inspiring before that you had to act on it, right?

[Hm. Backwards?] Do you mean, using my magic to revert something to simple materials? I can do that if I know what I'm extracting. By the process of elimination, as long as I know most of the materials then the leftovers will automatically be left behind.

I'll be happy to help. [Satou doesn't question it! Clothes are fun. Fashion is good!]

Eheh, maybe once or twice they've been very compelling, yes.

Oh, well, that's handy too, but I was thinking more about the emotions as such. If something were a feeling made manifest, could you revert it into its base passions?

Oh. Hmm...

That depends. Firstly, we may be misunderstanding each other. Think of it as... I turn emotions into energy, then turn that energy into... hands. Typically, the spells are I make from energy as like the hands that create a snowball. I could undo the snowball, but I could not turn it back into the hands that made it.

But if something were made of emotional energy... That's another matter entirely. But even in that case, once an emotion leaves the heart then I cannot stuff it back in.

["Hands"? Yep, he only vaguely gets it. Magic sure is weird!]

Suppose it needn't be stuffed, but simply unmade. Would that be possible? Would you have to know how a thing was made as a condition?

Knowing how it is made will result in cleaner pieces when I've taken it apart. But what are we talking about? What do you want me to do, specifically?

Oh, nothing yet. Just, you know, speaking of potentialities, that's all. Some spells are best when broken, and I wonder whether you can unmake that kind.

[Don't think too hard plz.]

Well, if those cases arise then I can look at them for you. I'm not gonna say no. Problem solving is something I like to think I'm good at.

That would be wonderful! As mysterious as all mysticism is to me, I like to keep a good listing of any I find so inclined. I may have a project for all you magicians later in the future.

But for now the prospect of future clothing will suffice. I'll seek a drawing at once. Until then, good morning!

Welcome to Genessia. I'm Cassian Andor, Guardian of Attleton. The easiest way to get yourself involved is to pick up bounties issued by the Guardians, they are advertised in the newspaper or can be found on the bounty board. If you're looking for steady income you could see about joining the police force of Genessia City or Everglade, and every now and then Guardians are looking for Deputies.

Police force? Do they accept magical girls, do you think?

[She hadn't thought about it. If magic is normal here, she can probably join a normal police force too.[

You're a Guardian, you say? May I have a moment of your time, then?

I don't think having magic would be a problem for becoming law enforcement, I've never heard of any such rule. As for girls... I don't know what their age requirements are, you would have to ask in the respective cities. Their Guardians might be able to tell you more. How old are you?

[ He settles back in his chair more comfortably. ]

I'm going to turn 17 this year! Whenever that is. Genessia's calendar is gonna mess me up.

[She squints over her shoulder, then whispers to the camera.]

Soooo. I can make guns. Do the law enforcement people need those? I thought I would offer it to you guys.

[ Aaaaaand time to lock the conversation! ]

Are you saying you're an arms dealer?

[ Like Black Hat, who was no ends of trouble, but this one is trying to sell to law enforcement so maybe she's less trouble? He can only hope. ]

Auuuuu, w-well! It's kinda like, uh... I can make anything with my magic if I understand it, and since I have to take my gun apart so much to clean it I kinda... know a lot about it...? I would be making it in pieces, though... Mikky, you turned me into a creepy criminaaaaaal.

[ His lips twitch a little at her shock and talking to herself. Well, at least this one is more entertaining than Black Hat. ]

Making weapons in pieces wouldn't be a problem. I'm more interested in how your magic works. And... well, how stable it is, for lack of a word. Is what you create only held together by your powers? Will it cease to exist when you will it, or when you leave Genessia?

No on all accounts, sir. I can’t make the pieces appear out of thin air, but I’d you provide the metal and other materials then I can turn them into the pieces of a gun. They would stay as long as that material would naturally exist. I can also create other things, but I need to understand what I’m making.

But as long as you can understand it, as long as you have a prototype to take apart and study, and the materials, you can create it? Even complex things?

No. Not yet. I'm just trying to figure out how I could best use your skills, if you do sign up for something. I can think of uses beyond the production of regular handguns but that will take more time and consideration.

[ And also deciding if she's trustworthy. ]

I would like to get to know you better before I sign you up for anything, I'm sure you understand.

Of course! The same to you, actually. I'm trying to get out of the business of being used by people with authority.

Just let me know what you decide you need done. In the mean time... How much do the deputies and Guardians do here? I'm trying to get a feel for how government and justice work in Genessia.

[ He nods. ]

I understand, and I'm actually feeling better about this for knowing you won't offer your services to just anyone.

[ Not so much an arms dealer out for profit or for spreading more chaos then. That's good. ]

As for what the Guardians do... That depends. We all have very different approaches to our jobs, and that we see as part of our job, that's part of what people vote on during elections. It depends on the towns, too. We're in charge of matters of the town's security. Here in Attleton I want us involved in the day-to-day police work, while in larger cities with a large standing police force the Guardian teams are more in an overseeing position, and interfere only with grave threats which the police can't handle. On the other hand, we confine ourselves strictly to matters of law enforcement, which other towns don't always do.

I see... I have heard that Attleton faces fewer magical threats than the other locations. Are you prepared for the fact that is a very obvious blindspot?

[The little girl shakes her head. While she feels very confident being in a position to discuss such things, she knows that her society is different. In most places, teenage girls don't have much respect.]

That's good to know. So I would have to get in touch with the other Guardian teams to understand which town might want me... I must admit, I'm not good at sitting on my hands and watching people get hurt.

[ She acts mature, so her being a teenage girl doesn't bother him, but Cassian does turn more grim at the mention of Attleton's weakness. ]

I'm aware that we are at a disadvantage. Not just to magic but also to the supernatural. This is something that we take into consideration when choosing Deputies and making allies, in many different ways. I can assure you we have taken steps to counterbalance our weakness in these fields and are working on more steps.

[ They have, it's just been an exercise in frustration lately. Slow progress on the machine to nullify powers without the right engineers involved, allies being sent home before projects could be completed or proving less reliable than assumed. It makes it more of a sore point than it would be otherwise. ]

We have to strike a delicate balance in the people we choose to hire or otherwise involve in Attleton's security. This town is slow to trust strangers, it doesn't like change. Most of all, all magical and supernatural threats come from us pendant-bearers, they aren't native to Attleton. We can only expect the natives to accommodate us so much for dangers which we have brought into their town.

But. Yes. Yes, you'll have to speak to each Guardian individually, we each choose our own Deputies.

I'll admit, I hadn't considered that. Genessia does seem to have a fairly sizable native population... Are they consciously aware of how many people from other worlds get dragged into here, or are we masquerading among them..?

I suppose Weiss' introduction would have mentioned if I had to keep my head low.

[She nods thoughtfully.] Well then. I've leaned on you enough. I'd better get in touch with the other Guardians. I don't want to step on anyone's toes, unless they deserve it. [..... wait, that's rude.] I would never.

[ He snorts in amusement. ]

Of course you wouldn't.

You don't need to masquerade or keep your head low; I don't know if we tried hide among them in the early days but if such an attempt was made then it was abandoned years ago. It's just when pendant-bearers try to force their beliefs and ways of life onto the local that there's trouble.

But I won't keep you either now.

Are clothes the only thing you can make with magic?

Nope, not at all.

I can make just about anything, so long as I understand it and have the materials.

I see.
