When gambling is involved, Faye has all the luck - she makes her own, after all. In life, maybe not so much. Today was one of those days where luck was definitely not on her side.

In the morning, Faye can be found actually kicking her motorcycle in a corner of a street in Nova City. That's what happens when you've lived long enough with a guy whose mantra is 'If your ship doesn't work, just kick it.' Looks like her bike is not interested in starting up again...

*A very grumpy Faye appears on the screen, fuming at her bike after having given it another swift kick. She glares at it lying on its side before throwing a dark look to the camera*

Anyone know what to do with a heap of junk that doesn't start?

In the afternoon, Faye is walking, because she has to, and somehow manages to get the heel of her boot stuck in the road. Screaming in frustration, Faye has to wrench that foot back out, but her shoe is probably broken...

In the early evening, Faye has found her way to a food stall. Hungry and tired after an unsuccessful day, she just wants to treat herself to some street food. Only, it appears she has forgotten her purse. The owner of the stall, burly big woman, is now shouting at Faye for wasting her time and demanding pay that Faye just doesn't have. No matter how hard she tries to explain and plead her case for those noodles, this lady will not hear it, and seems quite happy to cause a scene too.

[Private Action - Dohko - Drinking Buddies]

In the weeks since they met, Dohko and Faye have become firm drinking buddies - trying different drinks, different places, getting to know each other more. For this particular night, Faye has put a little more effort into her appearance. She is still casual, but her skirt is the short and tight kind, and her vest top sits low on her cleavage, complete with a thin gold chain that may just be there to draw attention to her chest. A bit more attention has gone into her make up too - darker eyes, a red lipstick. She waits for Dohko at the bar as usual, waiting on the drinks she has already ordered for them. There are a few men in the room with their eyes on her back already, each of them waiting to pounce, and hoping to do so before the other men get there first.

[He sighs and glances down at her, gaining a more serious expression on his face.]

She was going over the line. No one deserves to have gone through that.

[He offers her a more gentle smile and lets out a light chuckle.]

No, you are definitely not a charity case. You are a friend. What's wrong with wanting to cook for a friend?

[And it looks like she needs a listening ear.]

I got beer to have along with the food but it might not be as good as they place you like to visit.

*Seeing that change of expression makes Faye stop putting on such a childish pouting face. But she glances away, still a bit embarrassed about having to be rescued like that.

When he calls her a friend, she blinks at him, quite taken aback by that, to the point where she can't even argue with him*

Nothing wrong with that... And beer would be real good round about now.

*No word of a lie. Then it occurs to her that no one has ever really cooked a meal for her as a friend, so the smile she gives him is actually a little shy for a second*

[He notices the change in her expression and stance but doesn't change his own.

But then her whole demeanor changed and he goes to smile again.]

Beer and some proper noodles then. Or would you prefer.... [What's the English name for it again?] Fried rice or anything else?

[He gives her shoulder a gentle squeeze to give her more comfort.]

A beer is always good after a hard day... Or any day.

[A wink towards her. But then it is his turn to blink at the sight of the shy smile and he just gains a gentle expression.]

I did and they cook their food decently. I think I can do better with my own cooking. [A small sigh as he remembers Marco's words.]

Perhaps you should join me next time? He didn't give me a discount after all.

Anything you're willing to cook is fine by me - noodles, fried rice, whatever you wanna make. I'm going to be a bitch about it if you're gonna cook for me.

*Because maybe she wasn't such a horrible person after all. Maybe. She smiles at that wink but shakes her head - she's sure found a charmer with this guy*

Decently, huh? Suppose that isn't the worst thing you could say.

*Faye just laughs out loud at the suggestion of her going with him and the discount - of course he would offer such a thing if it might being with her meant money off*

Oh no? That's too bad... Did you say that I sent you? Did he say anything about that?

[Hey! It is getting her to smile again, so it is worth it. He can after all afford to relax a little.]

I guess I will have to let you be the judge. Since you eat there so often.

[And there we go! The sound of her laugh was a good sound.]

He just mainly ignored me when I mentioned you.

[He didn't mind paying full price. It was odd but he didn't mind it. He used to brew his own alcohol due to living so high and deep in the mountains. Plus having a drinking buddy wouldn't be so bad.]

Yeah well... a girl's gotta get her food where she can get it. And if it comes with a smile and doesn't cost me, all the better.

*Which then made it her turn to give him a cheeky smile - because he was about to do the same for her after all*

Ignored you? Too bad. I hope he hasn't gone off me... Maybe I should find a new place for cheap food and beer.

[He couldn't help but to chuckle at that.]

Exactly. I just hope I live up to your high end tastes.

[Okay he had to tease a little. Just to keep the mood jovial.]

I will be looking for a good drinking hole as well. It will be something to drink while I brew my own.

Well, I suppose there's only one way to find out, hmm?

*And by now she was feeling playful enough to nudge him slightly with her hip*

My roommate runs a couple of bars and clubs. They're really nice places. And, again, I get discounts for being a friend. Or - maybe I'm not technically supposed to, but I help myself anyway.

I guess there is. Is there anything you can't or don't like to eat?

[He chuckles and tips his hat as she starts being playful with him. Good. That was what he wanted to see. He moves with the nudge and grins down at her.]

Your roommate huh? I guess perhaps later this week we can go there and try and drain the place?

Nope. People can say a lot of things about me, but being a fussy eater is not one of them.

*Faye laughs as she looks up at him again, liking that little tip of his hat*

Sounds like a good plan to me. Quite the challenge, too - Gale keeps his bars well stocked, and with good stuff too. I'm sure he wouldn't mind us taking a sample or two...

Good. I will be making some noodles and dumplings then.

[He is already preparing the list and recipe in his brain. Faye has a really nice laugh so he does wonder why she doesn't have guys oogling at her.]

I am always up for a good challenge. Though the next question will be is he up for us taking his bar on?

*Faye was definitely impressed by this - given how poor her own cooking skills were, she was always impressed if someone could make a good meal.

And she does have men oogling at her, just usually in bars, where the men stare, and often try to touch too*

Sure, why not? I'm inviting new customers to try his place out - if you have a good time, you'll go back. If you like it, you'll tell others. It's all just good for business. Least, that's what I'll tell him if he moans.
