[Where? Just where was sure? One moment, she was in Serenes, next to her father, trying to guide their people into healing all of their own wounds. The hidden scars the wars and years have left on them. The hologram message, everything didn't make sense. She idly glances down at an worn pendent made of a phoenix feather. The one gift she swore to never lose. Her beloved gave it to her.

The sound of surf and sand can be heard before a much softer sound, then the sound of someone falling into the sand. There was a silence for a few moments before a soft song is transmitted through the communicators. The voice singing in a warm, gentle and loving tone.]

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.
You make me happy, when skies are gray.
You never know dear, how much I love you
So please don't take my sunshine away.

[The verse is sung again before she goes to just hum for a few moments and then the smartphone was pressed off.]

[AKA, she has to plot it out. But she goes to pout at him as he keeps on bringing up her height, wings raffling a little.]

Its not like you haven't done stupid things either. Like almost getting killed while trying to protect me. Or despite how many times I told you, you ignored my feelings for you.

[Okay, she goes to pout even more.]

No, I don't love you just because of that. You complete me in every way both in body and soul. With you, I feel like I can be as strong as everyone seems to think I am.

[She would protest about her ears and when he kissed them, she couldn't help but to let out a soft moan.

But then he worries about her position and she blinks, letting out a soft chuckle.]

No, Papa didn't disown me. I have become the Heron Queen. So now I have a lot more on my shoulders than I did before. I only accepted the title because Papa is still ill.

[She goes to sigh.]

I wouldn't be surprised if that is his mindset. To marry me off as soon as possible and start having nestling of my own.

[She moves to cuddle more against him, half closing her eyes so she can focus on his scent.]

So basically you have nothing and will have to try to plan it out.

[His confident smile only grows at that.]

You call that stupid, I say that was noble. To die protecting the one I love is a death many would envy. And maybe I wouldn't have ignored them if a certain someone hadn't decided to describe some "mysterious ideal man" rather than saying "I love you".

[He sighs, pressing against her as he hears her say those things that still feel incredible. That he could complete someone, that he could make someone strong and not just cause them pain and death? A small part of him still counts the days before this strange dream ends, when the truth of what he causes to those he loves around him comes back knocking at his door. He ignores it all.]

Ah, so you're the Queen now. No wonder they will be so annoying about having to be strong and what not.

[It's funny how he says that as if he thinks that being queen must be a real pain and annoyance.]

Either way, you're here now so you don't have to worry about that, do you? You can just relax and be Leanne.

[She couldn't help but to giggle a little.]

[She moves today down as the pressing, her hands reaching over to help tug him into laying with her, just content to cuddle him like this.]

[She forces a chuckle and nods her head.]

Yes, its annoying but someone has to take that role. Though my people rather would have a King instead of a Queen.

[She giggles again and nods her head slowly.]

I will try not to. I have a feeling that you will make it easier for me not to worry about it. Especially if you decide to go around and pick fights.]

But you described him so well as if he was someone else, not to mention that I still can't see some of the good things you claim to see in me. And I also said that I would give you my life, yet you didn't accept it, did you?

[He follows her movements, shifting to lay down with her as she requests. It's not as if he has anything better to do at the moment.]

I know, but some stupid part of me still finds it hard to believe that I could be this lucky. But I know, and I love you as well, you're my family and as precious as my siblings if not more.

[After all, life without his brothers is annoying but bearable. Life without her? That would result in a very, very, very angry phoenix all day long.]

If they wanted a king they should have put Reyson in the throne, shouldn't they? Or Rafiel, him being married to the Wolf Queen would make for a good way to settle an alliance even more, at least that's how it was done in my world when monarchies ran rampant.

[She couldn't help but to giggle at his reasoning for missing her hints.]

For me, its hard to see the bad in you. I know its there but all I can see are the good. No one is perfect but you are just perfect to me, both good and bad traits.

[She sighs and look away.]

I didn't want you back then to be stuck with someone who was thrown away. Also, I didn't want to trap you to me. I wasn't worth giving your life for. I was foolish back then.

[She smiles as he also lays down, scooting closer to cradle his head to her, draping a wing over him. This... This was nice. So peaceful and nice.]

If anyone was lucky, then it is me for having you love me. I am so lucky and grateful to be chosen by you.

[She chuckles and shrugs her shoulders.]

Reyson didn't want it and Rafiel lives with his wife in a desert. The Wolf clan are vegabounds and travel a lot and in a pack. The both of them have to watch over them as they are as few as we Herons.

It is a way to forge stronger bonds with other clans but I guess we Herons have it easy in that respect as other clans already love and adore us. It isnt unusual for different clans to marry one another. As brother Rafiel proved.

[She goes to sigh.]

I just wish I was as strong as the Wolf Queen. She is the strongest female I know. But then I also see how she is with Rafiel and then she reminded me of you. Both in her gentleness, protectiveness and then her love and desire to fight.

So basically, you're incapable of giving objective judgement.

[He sounds amused about it at least. And he leans to kiss her cheek when she looks away.]

Foolish falls short. Though it's funny, you didn't want to trap me but you wanted me all the same. Much like I didn't want to condemn you to me, yet still loved you.

[Ikki frowns a bit.]

So you got stuck with it because your older brother didn't want to be king? And why did he not want it?

[There's a soft chuckle as she talks about the Wolf Queen.]

My love... You're the only woman I know capable to taming a phoenix and soothe its flames, not just mine but Marco said you did that to him as well. You are strong, just not in a way easily seen unless it's needed.

[She blushes before giggling.]

We seem to be more and more made for each other..... And I can make objective judgements!

[She shakes her head.]

He choose a different position... One that emcompasses all of the Clans. He became the Laguz ambassador, to help mend the wounds between the Beorc and the Laguz.

[She blinks at his chuckle, a hand idly moving to pet his hair.]

I guess then I should be grateful for my strength. But it is because of you I am strong.

[Girl, you just said you couldn't see the bad in him. Despite it being far more obvious than the good in his opinion.]

Oh, so it's not that he just didn't want to work. Hmm, that's good, I guess. Still sorry that they would throw all that on your shoulders.

[He smiles and shakes his head.]

[And boyfrieeeend! Just because you cant see the good doesnt mean she cant!

She chuckles and gives his head a light massage, enjoying semi-pampering him.]

That could be true. But, I guess if you think about it. I am probably the best pick until you come home with me or I have a son. Even if they may not fully want me, I will still do whatever I can for them.

[More light massaging.]

[She blinks before giggling.]

Hey, I was already confident on my own. I still believe That it is you who gave me the strength I needed.

[A small coo before she hums softly to him.]

[He hums at the massage, it feels a bit strange, to think that for her it has been so long and for him just hours. Though all thoughts stop when she speaks next.]

[And... He's not going to touch the son idea. Mostly because he can see why it would matter, since they would be her heir, but also because... It's a huge can of worms he just doesn't want to touch even in his mind.]

[He leans in to kiss her on the lips, slow and deeply. Answering her words with actions because while he could say it a thousand times, how much he loves her, right now he knows that it's her who has missed him the most. And he wants to give her as much as possible to make up for it.]

[She gives his ears a light pinch before going back to massaging his head.]

[She giggles and coos.]

Everything, Darling. And what other Heron could make a Phoenix love her so.But it is something I always wondered about, having goddesses pick me over my siblings. [A small giggle] Then again, I kept on bugging her to pick me over my brothers.

[Another giggle before a long sigh at the memories. Yeah, that can of worms can stay closed for now.]

Maybe... And maybe not. I was a jerk to you as well. We were both jerks to each other.

[She was gonna say something else but then he kissed her. Tears well up a little in her eyes as she feel his love and the feeling of just how much she missed and loves him boils up within her. She kisses him back and her hands relaxes in his hair.

She was truly blessed to have him as her husband. Honestly and truly, she considers herself to be the luckiest girl out there to have him love her like this.]

[He just laughs heartfully at the pinching.]

Ouch, so it's going to be that long, huh?

[That next answer doesn't really clear much though.]

Well, I don't know how other herons are, and I only know another phoenix and he's married too so any other heron who wants to try their luck will have to wait for another phoenix to appear. But I still don't see how it would matter when I go there, I'm just your husband, you're the Heron Queen.

[No, he's not drawing the line, sorry.]

We were both jerks yet we fell in love, makes you wonder what would happen when we are good to each other.

[He's the one that's blessed to have her. Meeting her and having her as a friend was already a blessing, but counting with her love? That was beyond what he could have ever dared to dream for. Not to mention that he was truly lucky to have been choosen so quickly even when there were many other better options.]

No, but knowing you. You will keep counting just to annoy me.

[Okay, she couldn't help but to laugh from the belly. A long and mouthful laugh at his words.]

[Okay, she needs to calm down her laughter a little.]

I don't know. Probably not as crazy in love as we are now. Because we would have never seen each other at our worst if we were just good to each other.

[She couldn't help but to let out a shuddering sigh into the kiss, enjoying the deepness of it. Never would she could have guessed back then that she could have been loved again. She is the lucky and blessed one forever for having him show her that she was deserving of love and protection. Not for her position or race but for who she truly is.

She breaks the kiss briefly to try and catch her breath and to pant out words of love to him. A hand moving to gently let his face before she kisses him again.]

I would certainly be worried if I wasn't me. What would that mean for our marriage?

[He holds her close as she laughs, enjoying the sound of it.]

I hope that's not the first time you laugh in a long time, my queen. Otherwise I may have to go to your world after all to make sure things are taken care of.

[She deserves nothing but happiness after all, and the chance to be able to laugh every now and then at the very least.]

Yeah, but what if we were good for each other now that we're already in love?

[Nevermind that they are already good to each other, or trying to.

He returns her kisses calmly and with all the adoration he can muster. He really is glad that she remembers him.]

You know... A small confession? I was ready to try to conquer your heart again if you didn't remember me and were without mate still. Though with my luck that may have actually worked backwards.

[After all she fell for him without him even trying.]

It would mean disastrous things for our marriage.

[That type of laughter, when was the last time she had a good laugh like that? She goes to nuzzle him with a deep, contented sigh.]

I have laughed but that type of laugh.... I really don't remember when. But with a promise like that, I may be tempted to say I never laughed.

Now that we are in love and married. I guess we can start being good to each other if we feel like it.

[A small tease with a soft coo.

She really couldn't help the tears falling freely from her eyes at his kisses. This was him, the fire and the soul of his being could easily be felt through the kisses.

At his confession, she couldn't help but to giggle again.]

It probably would have, but you would also have already know how to win my heart. You have won it so easily by just being you.

[Okay, she is going to pepper his face now with kisses, chirping and cheeping.]

Hmm, well, that's good I guess. That you have been able to have laughter again in your days. And that it wasn't like the one you have with me, that means I may not be easily replaced after all. Even if I'm competing with a whole kingdom.

[He's clearly just teasing, he's well aware both things can't be compared. And even if they could, Leanne should put her kingdom and people before him. Not that he intends to ever put her in that position if he can help it.

His eyes shift with worry for a second when he notices the tears in her face again, but it goes away when he realizes that they aren't due sadness or pain.]

So the secret to the most precious treasure in all the worlds is to... Ignore it?

[He sighs as she peppers his face with kisses, hands caressing her back as he holds her close. As wonderful as this moment is, though, and as much as he wants to let her have her fill of him after having to endure all that time alone... They should get moving.]

I'm going to live with Marco, he offered and... I would like to be with him, to make up for the time even if I don't remember it. But if you don't like it or the place causes you trouble, I'll go and find another place.

[She idly pinches his ear again, chuckling.]

No, you are never easily replaceable. You are my other half.

[She giggles as she picks up on the teasing. She will pray that she will never have to make that choice.]

It seems like it. Considering how easily you made me fall for you.

[This was too nice and wonderful. She would be content for the rest of her life if this was all she could get of him. She coos when he speaks again and stops her kissing.]

.... You know that I will go where you go. I will do my best to support you and like it there. I am sure that nothing bad will happen to me or cause me trouble, my love.

And what about how easily you made me fall for you? What mystical enchant did you use to soothe the phoenix and convince it to stay?

[She talks about how he courted her, but it takes two to do that, and while he hadn't intended to court her... He himself had been unable to stay away from her.]

I know, which is why I'm warning you. I've already seen the place, I'm fine with it, but I'm not sure if it won't be too much for you.

I did nothing of the sort. I was just being selfish and wanting to not be lonely anymore.

[A small giggle.]

I only wished to befriend you back then. But I will never take back this result. I guess I am still quite the selfish girl.

[Okay, since they are not moving at any time, she goes back to petting his hair.]

All we can do is try it. Even if it causes me discomfort. I will still try to endure it for you, my love. Especially since you want to do something so noble. How can I not give it my all and support you?

And that's how you made me fall for you? What a curious tactic.

[He sighs softly.]

Me too, all I wanted at first was to help you. Give you some solace with someone who could at least talk to you in a way you thought lost, protect you and help you get used to beorcs. But somewhere along the line it seems my path shifted without me even noticing.

[The petting is nice but he's trying to be serious now so he doesn't move into it.]

And try we will, but not unless you promise me that if it's too much, you will say so. I'm serious, Leanne, I don't care if you think what I want to do is noble, or if Marco is my brother. You're my wife and your safety and comfort goes above all else.

It's one thing if it's some discomfort that you can shake off easily by going to Fayren, which would probably best suit you, or something like that. But if it really causes you pain or way too much discomfort, I want you to tell me right away.

It worked didn't it? Even if I didn't mean for it to work.

[A long sigh as she nods her head.]

You were so kind and gentle to me from the start. I still do wonder what made you so, even when we first met.

[She keeps the petting up as he says his piece.]

I promise. I just don't want to make you choose. Even accidentally. But... I will still try my best to endure it, I have grown accustom to enduring a lot of pain for a Heron.

[She sighs.]

I probably won't notice how bad it will affect me until it is too late. But if I notice before hand, I promise to let you know right away.
