We eventually uncovered the secrets of Mayfield... But I hope this place is not the same.

Do you really think so? I have people, friends, and a family I wanted to go back to.

Is that your original homeworld too? It seems people came from a lot of worlds and ended up here.

Not quite.

I was from Hinamizawa in Japan, in the 1980s. Then one day, I woke in Mayfield. It was in 1950s America, it seemed.

Now I am here after four years.

Huh? No way. You and I came from the same homeland then, and almost the same year.

I'm Seiya by the way. Nice to meet to you.

So you did some world hopping, huh? What was it like for you?

Eh...?

[Rika is stunned to actual silence. This is her first time meeting someone not just from Japan, but the 1980s. She's forced herself to let go of the idea of 'home' and familiarity, and it only now truly hits her how much she's missed it...

But oops. Better not let that thought settle, or she might cry.]

Furude, Rika. Nice to meet you, Seiya. [She gives a small, hesitant nod. Rika doesn't want to stop looking at his face. He's a slice of home!]

It was strange. Mayfield was a scary place to be. We escaped it to another town, which was a Better Place, but I never got home to Japan... I had never been outside of Japan before Mayfield.

[Given he aged up from his time, it's a bit later in the 1990s.]

Nice to meet you Rika. So, you never been able to go back home ever since? That's sounded pretty lonely. How about your friends and family? Ever get the chance to see them?

[Four years, she said? She must have lost 4 years.]

Seeing a tornado of sand on a normally calm day? That was unusual and it got her curiosity going. Leanne flies over to the bay area and sees the lone boy moping a little. She flies down to land a few feet behind him and goes to let out a soft sigh.

"A penny for your thoughts, Brother?"

He wasn't used to hearing that voice or being called brother in a long time. The only person who called him brother was his long lost sister, the person he had been searching for many years. Even now, he wasn't able to reunite with her.

It's not a usual greeting for him. "Leanne? No. It was nothing."

He was quite torn. After all, he was in coma-like state before he arrived here, and he woke up here.

"I was trying to figure out aa way to go back, and then maybe I can tell Ikki..."

Though with Seiya's plan to offer to take his brother with him, a way to go back to their homeowlrd, would have been selfish.

"No nevermind. What were you doing out here?"

She risks moving closer to him. The poor boy, even without using her powers she can tell he was torn about something. Leanne moves to sit down next to him, using a wing to try and cup him within it.

"To tell Ikki the way back to his home?" She would giggle a little. Ironic, they had a play fight about that when she arrived.

"I wouldn't let you take him back as I would go in his stead." A small joke to try and lighten the mood.

She then goes to let out warm and gentle coos.

"I saw something most particular and had to investigate it." She shakes her head though. "Its okay, Seiya. You can tell me what has been going on."

Her presence is soothing and calming to him.

"Yeah, I wanted to help. But if he wanted to stay here with you, I'm fine with that. He didn't have to come back with me. But I do. I have to..."

He shakes his head. "Nothing is going on. I wonder if there is a way out of here. I suppose we're here in the meantime. It just that I have to go back to my sister and Saori-chan... I mean, Athena's side. Have Ikki ever told you about her? How we fight for her ideals?"

She continues to coo at him and keeping him cupped in her wing.

"I am sorry... If only we were of the same world then there would be no issues. He does want to return and help."

She goes to let out a soft sigh and smiles. "Yes, he has told me. In fact before we were married he kept on comparing me to her which annoyed me. Especially since hebwould do that when we were fighting."

Another sigh as she looks upwards. "I guess you can say I am a lot like a Saint back in my world. I had to fight along a goddess' side in order to save everyone."

Giving her a quizzical look. "I don't think you and Athena are the same..." He said, wanting to protest. But then after she explains her role in her world, "Oh. I see. Except a trademark of a saint is that they know their own star constellation. Ikki is the Phoenix star. I am the Pegasus, the winged horse. Women saints must wear a mask to cover their face. It's forbidden for them to fight without a mask as it's an old tradition"

As they both look upwards to the stars in the heavens. "I was trying to get back to her. Athena. I have to. I must."

He points up, "Look up there. At least some star positions are the same. That's Polaris, the North star. The position is always north. That was what I'm looking at. Sailors who are lost often look for it when they lost their way."

[She couldn't help but to giggle again.]

We are our own person but like I said, he only said that whenever we fight."

She goes to listen to how he explain how Saints work and slowly nods her head. "You seem to have a more hands on approach to dealing with Athena. How we were picked was mostly likely because we were in the wrong place at the wrong time. But now, we Herons are Ashuera's guardians and besides one other.... Only I can locate her at just about any time at home."

She tilts her head. "I never really been on a ship... But I can see how Beorcs use them as a guide."

She reaches over to try and gently ruffle his hair. "Do you think I have a star to protect me?"

"Sounds like Ikki all right. As for me, I'm just like any other Saint. We protect her and her ideas for a better world, where Love and Justice always prevails. There are bad gods that want to destroy her and our world, and we exist to live for her and fight for her to protect her."

He laughs. "Hey!" Way to messed up his hair, sis. "Your star? I do not know. Perhaps if you meditate and listen to your cosmos, your cosmos will tell you and connect you to your star. Everyone has one, including you, I think."

She goes to shake her head. "He often talks about you. I doubt you are just like any other Saint, Seiya." A small smile forms across her lips. "I wonder why... Why must there be good and bad gods. It seems foolish to me. If I could... I would like to try and help protect Athena as well. Just to help ease all of yours and Darling's burdens."

And OHO! She goes to mess up his hair even more now! "Just you think? That doesn't sound very encouraging." She teases a little before letting out a contented sigh. "Maybe I don't need one as I already have a Phoenix watching over me."

"You and Ikki can leave the protecting Athena to me. You can do so by believing in her ideas like love and justice, and protect people who are weak and couldn't protect themselves. And by love, I mean loving other people and don't believe that hurting them just because human beings were born only to exist. The evil gods only wished to wipe them out because humans don't worship them enough. Athena believed they have the right to live and love and protect humans from being annihilated."

He sighed. He really wanted Ikki to have a happy life, for all the service he did in the Goddess name. In his mind, he thinks if Ikki doesn't want to be a Saint anymore if even someday, then Seiya will take all of the burdens, as he chosen to be in service Athena for the rest of his life.

"I wish you both happiness. You have me as well by your side and Ikki's."

Though he doesn't know how long, as he knows one day, he has to return to his post and duty to be by Athena's side once more.

She shakes her head. "You are my brother and therefore I cannot leave the task to just you." She coos. "I am sure Ashurea will give her blessings for me to aid you."

She smiles and leans over to try and give him a brief kiss on the cheek. "Thank you. Please know that you have me and all of Serenes by yours and Darling's side. As well if any more brothers come. None of you will be alone as long as I am alive. You are all my brothers and sisters."

She frowns a little and coos. "You love her don't you? Athena."

He was about to protest, thinking she doesn't understand. That the road to being a saint is paved with pain, battles, and conflict. Emotions too harsh and chaotic on such a gentle princess. That being a saint means, to be a soldier of Athena to fight Hade's Holy War, whenever he was resurrected in any era, the Pegasus saint will be there to stop him. He is the legendary God Slayer after all.

He can't directly answer that, considering he's inexperienced in love. To him love is simply his devotion to fight for her with no hesitation and no giving up. "I will always stand by her side. She always remind me to live my life to the fullest."

He smiles. He doesn't want to worry Leanne that he's willing to die for her and fight to the brink of death if he has too. Fighting for him is like air, it's pure instinct. He was rather touched on her feelings of siblings, that he feels a kinship to her too.

"It's getting late. Ikki said he'll make homemade ice cream, so shall we go?"

So conflicted. He wanted to protest but to what? There was pain going through him. Leanne's eyes study him, taking in his heart and everything within in. A soft sigh escapes her and her cooing became more gentle, more warm. She wanted to wrap her wings around him. To let her own soul and Order to surround him.

"Maybe you haven't matured enough to understand love." She teases a little, trying to invoke more emotions out of him. To see where she can heal him. "But she is lucky to have you by her side."

More emotions behind the smile. She cups her wing tighter around him. No, you cannot die for her. She is the least worthy of such a sacrifice. Too many have already done that.

"Ice cream? I don't think I have the pleasure to try such a treat."

Not so much as a protest, but he didn't want her to know the dangers and violence a saint must endure, and the enemies he faced. The trails are heavy and the battles are long. Leanne is too gentle for such hardships.

"I don't know. I only wish to serve her." He answered. It's the honest answer. He thought of Athena as the goddess he serves, and he's a guardian, and that his loyalty is one of those types of loves and devotion. Which is a different love between a man and wife, and he hasn't reached that level yet. He only nods to that.

"Well, he promised chocolate today. I'm looking forward to it." At that, he finally grew tired of watching the sunset at the beach and began to walk, after Ikki gave him directions to the manor where's he working at in the kitchen.

Seiya, look at who she is married to. Do not make Leanne show him her war injuries for what she had to endure.

"She is lucky to have you then. You are a good friend to her, brother Seiya. But please, also take care of yourself. If she is anything like me, then she will hate to see those she loves getting hurt."

Leanne lets out a long sigh and stretches. "Do you want me to carry you? It will be no problem." She is strong enough to carry someone for a short distance.

Seiya carries scars too, lots of scars marked on his body and on his soul from previous lifetimes. He proudly wears them for Her, each scar is a testament to his victory and losses. "I suppose you are like her. She always thinks about humans first, her people, and that was why she choose to protect them and live among them." Unfortunately, being her saint, it was his fate to get hurt and stand up for others.

The thing about Seiya...is that he didn't want to worry Leanne more about his troubles. Being the Pegasus Saint, he never thinks about himself. Only that his duty is to protect humankind from the wrath and destructive hatred of the Gods against humanity. Like Athena love for humanity, his heart belongs to all, and never thinks of getting married to one person. So marriage isn't on his mind at all, at least for now.

There's a look of surprise at her offer. Such kindness, but that's expected of a princess and the now Heron Queen. "You don't have to trouble yourself for me, Leanne-san. I can...I can walk on my own..." Coming to Seiya's mind was when his soul was trapped between life and death because of Hade's curse, the death God eternal hatred of him because he's Athena's Saint. During that time, his body was comatose, trapped in the wheelchair, unable to move, unable to speak, unable to see. All senses shut-down, his soul trapped and shut-off from the world.

He smiles at her. He tries. But like his armor, his smiles is to hide the cracks of his warrior's heart. Not all scars are visible on his skin beneath the clothes he wears.

"Shall we go? I think Ikki said he's waiting for me in a manor. I wonder what his homemade ice cream will taste like." And Seiya walked through the sandy coast and onto the streets, having made up his mind that he won't make progress moping for an exit near the bay.

It just that...I realized I haven't got any since I got here. I was about to get one from the vendor nearby.

[Cheery grin. Ikki didn't seem the sort to make dessert.]

Can you make some? I would like green tea. Or chocolate.

[He certainly wasn't, but things change. And Ikki has changed a lot in some aspects.]

I can make some, but for the green tea you'll have to wait until tomorrow as the soonest. There's chocolate icecream ready, though, I prepared it yesterday.

Can you make your way here or should I go pick you up?

[He sends Seiya directions for the Phantomhive Manor in Everglade.]

I can make it on my way! Honestly, I'm not a kid anymore... You better have that chocolate ready!

Hey cool, you found a job already? I applied to some. Haven't heard anything back yet...

[And he's heading his way to the mansion. Though rather slowly, considering Everglade is a creepy town, and already the townfolks are looking at him with suspicion. Perhaps, sensing the purity of his aura.]

Whoa, big house...! How did you get here?

Sure, sure, a huge bowl of chocolate ice cream ready for the adult Pegasus Saint.

[He didn't mean it in the sense that Seiya was a kid, but because of the general aura in Everglade. But if Seiya is confident he can do it on his own, Ikki won't stop him.

Ikki does his best to stop a blush from creeping up at Seiya's reaction to the house, though.]

A "friend" offered me to live with him and his wife and I accepted. I don't have a job yet, still thinking about what to do and settling in with my wife... I heard you already met her.

[He leads Seiya to the kitchen because anyway he's still working on dinner and his brother can have the ice-cream there. As promised it will be a huge bowl of delicious homemade chocolate ice-cream.]

[He came through the gate. What's weird is that there some domesticated cats wandering and lazying on the road path that leads to the big mansion. But they're friendly, so he pets them and plays with them for a bit.

He found his way to the kitchen area, beaming cheerfully.]

You really made this? It's really good! Thank you.

[It's a really old kitchen, made in 19th-century style, but with some modern utilities brought from Nova City. It's a cozy kitchen.]

Yeah, I met her. Do you and Leanne intend to live here? This place feels so surreal like it was made for a painting or something.

[Ikki smiles at the compliment, it's not a huge smile like those Seiya offers but it's still noticeable and it softens his eternal frown considerably.]

I've had a good teacher, though I'm not anywhere as good as he was. Sanji was a world class chef, you could die from how good his food was.

[Getting the hang of the kitchen hadn't been easy, compared to Nautilus it was less advanced... And the lack of bending powers didn't help. But it wasn't impossible to work with it and Ikki's sure there are worse kitchens to work with.

And he has already pretty much declared it his area since he arrived.]

Yes... Unless it becomes too much for her to bear, she's very sensible to Chaos and those things and I can tell this city isn't the best for her. But, Marco lives here and I... I have to make up for something with him so living here with him and his wife is the best.

What jobs did you apply to?

Still, you must believe me when I say this, but this is the best ice cream ever.

[He said, beaming at him. Such a frown Ikki always have. Shun may not be here, but Seiya hopefully will make up for him.]

Must be a good teacher. If your food is as good as he is, then yours will be much better! You ought to teach me what you know if you have time, so I can help.

[Seiya listened to his plan.]

I see. I'm not sure what I can do, but if you and Leanne need something from the other cities, I can help the both of you out by bringing things to you to this house.

Oh, here and there. I'm not good at cooking, so it's not that. One of them is mailman.

[Well, the insistence manages to make the smile grow more as he chuckles.]

I didn't doubt you, but now I'm certain it's not just politeness talking. I'm glad you like it, back before the orphanage and Kido I often sneaked into kitchens to try to cook something for Shun. Used to be much worse, but it has been that long since I had the chance to feed a brother.

[He... Had missed it, surprisingly. He had forgot how it warmed his heart to see a brother smile upon eating something he had made.]

I can teach you anytime you want, though I still have a long way to go. I've been thinking on trying to find a job as a chef, but I heard Marco comment something about opening a bussiness so I'll wait to see what comes of that first.

[It may be better than going to another city to work, and for now he's not in a hurry.

Seiya's offer for help gains him a hair ruffle.]

[And now he has a way to be contacted quickly. Back at their world the most anyone could hope to do to get Ikki's attention was call for him with their Cosmo and it had to be a big call.]

Mm, mailman... That should at least keep you entertained, going up and down. I don't suppose you've checked if any orphanage or school has something you could do, right? You're good with kids after all.

[Their lives in the orphanage is rough. Their caretakers don't treat them so kind as they're not like other children, as they are born and bred to be trained to be warriors of Athena in their future.]

I remember that...they thought of us as the troublemakers. [Smiling still.] Yeah, I'll be up for that, learning from you. [Hey the hair ruffles! He only laughs at that, causing his cosmos to give a soft glow.] Of course, I'll do the same. [That's what brothers do, to be there for each other.]

I checked a lot of places, but they said I'm not qualified to teach. [Shrugs.] But they said I can volunteer to help out or play with the kids.

Have you ever tried to cook before?

[Even after starting his training Ikki had had to do the cooking if he wanted any food himself, unless Esmeralda managed to get away for a bit to do it for him, which he hated because it only gave her even more problems. But he doesn't know how Seiya's training with Marin was, she certainly didn't seem like a cruel teacher the way Guilty had been, but that doesn't mean she wasn't strict or made Seiya fend for himself a bit.]

I suppose there's not a huge demand on trainers for Saints here. Still it will be something to fill your time, that's good if you already have a job.

[Ikki pauses and sighs before he speaks again, his tone serious.]

Opening a way out of this place would require a strength similar to what was needed to open the path to Elysion, you know. Probably far more, given the huge powers that are trapped in this world like us.

You won't find a way out by yourself just by being stubborn, you realize that, right?

I can make something simple like making eggs, rice, and soup.

[Marin is a strict teacher, but a lot gentler in comparison to the training Ikki endure. Still, Seiya's training is strict and harsh, and upon graduation, he learns the hard way to win his own cloth, that enemies show no mercy when it comes to obtaining power and he must fight them. But even then, he has to learn to fend for himself.]

I thought I could find a way. My power isn't enough. I realized maybe this world doesn't work the same way when we opened the door to Elysion. Maybe it works differently...ah, forget it. It's making my head hurt.

[Though knowing Seiya he won't give up. A way to find his way back home, that is. Stubborn horse is stubborn. With a bit of a yawn, Seiya is feeling sleepy, but his stomach gave out a gurgle noise.]

Say, I'm hungry now. Do you have anything for dinner?

Good enough for a start, some people go into learning without knowing even that. Did you have to cook your meals during your training?

[He can't help to be curious now, or was it from Seika from whom he learned even those basics?]

It most likely doesn't work the same, Nautilus certainly didn't even though there we could return to our worlds when we wanted. Anyway, my point is that if you truly want to use part of your time to try to figure out a way out, maybe you should go and talk with the people who are already working on that.

Otherwise you're going to end going crazy from inactivity, I can tell.

[Seiya's stubborness and devotion make him unable to just be content training like crazy like Ikki had been. Even without taking into account his devotion for Athena, just being apart from the rest would cause the boy unrest, while Ikki was far more adept at being along and far from them.

He chuckles softly as Seiya asks for dinner, turning to check on what he's preparing.]

Is there anything in particular you want? I'm preparing some greek potatoes, mushroom risotto and baked salmon. But I can probably prepare something else for you if none of those are of your liking.

I did. I remember eating alone outdoors most of time or in Marin's hut before her lessons begin at the crack of dawn, and she made me gathered the ingredients myself. Nobody babys me at all when I was in Greece.

[After training consist a lot of people voting to see you dead. Most likely Marin, and the rest is self-taught. He simply nods, listening to him.]

I saw the library in the main city. I haven't checked that out yet, so I was thinking of stopping by next time to read their books. Maybe the books have something about this place.

[At the mention of food he offers, he beams a grin~.]

They all sound good. You know a lot of things, Ikki. Did you learn cooking in your training too? I eat anything you got. I can eat like a horse, you know?

Didn't think you were babied, I just wondered if maybe because you were the closest to the Sanctuary there were a few things that weren't that bad. In Death Queen's island most of the times there wasn't any food to make.

[The land was so barren that finding ingredients for food most of the time was impossible, same with animals to hunt and eat. Most of the meals he managed to have had come from Esmeralda sneaking something for him from what little she already was given... Or him stealing crops or animals if he found them wandering too far from their farms.]

Sounds like a plan then, just be careful in the library. I've heard they are places that require silence, not sure how you will manage that.

[He's just teasing, but he can't help to remember how terrible Seiya's visit to the First Prison in Hell had been, from what he had been told the Spectre there had been very demanding with silence and order. Things that Seiya threw through the window the moment he stepped in.

Ikki pauses at the question about if he learned cooking in his training before shaking his head.]

No. During my training for the Phoenix Cloth all I learned was to fight and some languages, Guilty, my teacher there, didn't think I would need anything else. Well, that and to be angry and hate everything around me so I would burn and destroy everything.

I learned to cook from my mother, before she died when Shun was born. And then I learned more and better from a friend not long ago.

Compared to Death Queen's Island, Greece is a lot better. [Lots of Mediterranean foods.] It's home to Athena's sanctuary. But I missed the traditional Japanese food.

[Hey to be fair, the Judge of Hell asked for his name, and he didn't remember the first time and asked about what sins he should confess, which is bullshit, he didn't commit any sin of the sort. And then he got mad and wanted to kill him and Shun. Go figure. He just has to make a statement of himself as Athena's Pegasus Saint.

He pouts.]

I'll try. I haven't read a book in a long time.

[Didn't have time to read when he has a goddess to save. He nods and listens, and Seiya didn't say anything. After his sister is born, he doesn't remember anything of his mother as well, and he presumed she mysteriously died or simply vanished. So his sister and his brothers are all the family he has.]

I can't wait to eat what you make.

[Ikki the chef? This is going to be good. Seiya knows how proud Ikki is of his strength. He always thought of Ikki as the strongest of the four, though everyone equally has their strength and weakness.]

I don't know if that is a good comparition, back when we took the ballots draw that asshole of Tatsumi said that basically any of the other spots was better than Death Queen's Island. To be honest, in retrospect I'm surprised there were even people still surviving there when I went. Now there's no one there though.

[Ikki smirks and looks at his brother from over his shoulder.]

Should we go get you some books to help learning how to read?

[Just teasing, Seiya, Ikki himself was a disaster at reading and even now it's a bit of a challenge, though he got lots better thanks to the time in Nautilus. When he arrived there the idea of reading a book seemed like a worse battle than fighting a god.]

You're going to be the first to try something I cook in a long time. Last time I made anything for Shun he was still learning how to talk.

[He idly wonders if Shun even remembers those days before they went to the orphanage were Kido's men found them.]

Say, Seiya... Never got the chance to ask you before but, did you tell the others what I told you back when we fought? About Kido?

[After all Shun and the others had been unconscious when Ikki told Seiya that they were all brothers and he never asked if he told the rest.]

That's good. We all went through the same living hell for years of training, but you made it back to us in one piece and as our brother, so...I'm glad you're back.

[Seiya is really waiting for that delicious meal. With a pout.]

I can read. I just don't have the time. And I can brave it, eating your food.

[It took a while for Seiya to answer, considering he has to travel down memory lane and connect, as his memories are often connected to the battles, conflict, and pain.]

I did. It took a while because I was targeted by the other Silver saints from the Sanctuary who traveled all that way to kill me because I broke some stupid law and I fought for my personal interests. Hyoga wasn't surprised because he already knew about it before he came to join us.

We traveled back to Japan, and Saori told us the truth, so she knew too. She told us the story of how he, the old man, found the Gold Cloth and Saori as an infant when he traveled to Greece, and that she is the reincarnation of Athena.

Afterward, there was an attempted kidnapping of Saori. I rescued her and then jumped off a cliff, knocked myself unconsciousness. I think that's where you arrived because when I woke up, I was in the hospital.

[Yup, Seiya always did reckless stunts. Including jumping off cliffs and get his head hurt and a few fractures as a smart idea to save the Goddess.]

[That makes Ikki pause, he hadn't really thought that anyone but Shun would ever be "glad" to have him back.]

Hn. God knows what would have been of Shun if I hadn't, he has a bigger death wish than you. I'm glad that we all survived the training, though. Even if it's just ten of everyone that was sent.

[It's still better than just one surviving. He doesn't dare to think what would he have done if he had returned and been the only one to do so, he may have claimed to vow to kill his brothers but in actually he wanted them to kill him, not the other way around. If not even one of them had survived... He may have really gone out of his mind with rage.

He smirks as he places the mushroom rissotto in front of Seiya with the greek potatoes on another plate. The baked salmon will come later as a second dish if needed.]

Then brave it, champion. Just try don't regret it if you don't like it.

[Ikki doubts that will be the case, as Sanji taught him, he has made sure to taste everything before even plating it.

He waits patiently as Seiya thinks, he knows that he remembers what he told him, since he acknowledges him as a brother... Unless Seiya is doing it in the sense of them all being Saints and comrades. His eyes narrow a bit at the mention that Hyoga already knew, but he wonders if the blonde knew that all of them were Kido's children or if he only knew that he was Kido's child. He hopes it's the later because otherwise that would throw into his mind questions he doesn't want to think about.]

So even she knew it, I suppose I'm not surprised... Though I suppose he told her after we were sent away, otherwise that would make her even worse when we were kids.

[After all she was the one screaming about how "she" was the legal child and how they were just adopted and thus meant to be her servants. Yes, the old man would often tell her to not treat them like that but he didn't really do much to stop that behavior other than some bland words and the rest of his staff wasn't better. Heck, he himself rarely even looked at them.]

I admit, I didn't think you would tell them. Then again I thought that I would just die when the mountain collapsed.
