[it's just because it's White Day... that's all... She's pretty good with everything or has been but now that things have worn off...]

What do you do when you're homesick? [not that she is... not really] Does... anyone ever go home just by wishing? Do you know if anyone misses you? Or worry about how much school you're missing? [and she doesn't even really like school but she's not dumb and she doesn't want to be held back or miss her chance at Jonan. Mama would be really mad. She sighs and hugs her pillow]

[for talking to her... or anything really. For those in the rooms above the shop, Miaka is tucked up in her borrowed bed, hugging a pillow and feeling very out of place. The door is cracked open a little so she can be seen and it's obvious...well...that she's not entirely happy]

[ It's not that hard to tell that the other has just been crying. Adela kind of wants to sigh at that, but instead she comes into the room and seats herself on the bed next to Miaka, resting the tray in her lap for the moment. ]

I thought you might like something to drink.

[ It's all she can think of to start with, but Adela also knows she can't take too long getting to the real heart of what's bothering Miaka. For now, however, she'll give the other a chance to decide if she wants to approach it first or not. ]

Thanks. [she takes a cracker and puts some of the cheese on it and a little bit of ham and makes herself a little sandwich]

Do you have any family, Adela-chan?

[ She pauses, frowning at the tray on her lap before sighing. ]

My uncle, before I woke in Nautilus. He was all I had.

You must miss him a lot.

Every day.

[ She wears a smile for Miaka again, though it's a little sad. She doesn't have the heart to tell the other that she thinks she won't see her uncle again even if she goes home, and right now she's trying to cheer the other up. ]

It is no replacement, but you can find new family and friends wherever you may end up. And it does not belittle the value of those you miss to make new bonds.

... By the same coin, those new bonds do not stop one from missing those others important to them.

[she can tell Adela is still sad but doesn't know what to do. Sometimes just listening and being there is enough though she knows. She hugs her pillow to her chest and looks away]

I have a Mama and Papa... but he doesn't live with us. And an older brother Keisuke whose a complete dork. [she hugs the pillow a bit tighter before glancing at Adela]

But umm... I've never had a sister before...

... In Nautilus -- the place I was in before coming here -- I had family as well. I had Ace, Zoro, Franky, and Sanji. Zoro was a teacher and mentor, but all of them were like older brothers to me in some way or another.

[ Another pause before she makes to set the tray down. It doesn't take her long after to shift closer to Miaka, gently wrapping an arm around the younger girl so that she can pull her into a hug. ]

Having a sister is also something I have never experienced before. But... I... I suppose, what I am saying is that... While we are here...

[ Nehra why are words failing her now? She's already hugging the other, she shouldn't be stumbling all over what she wants to say! It takes her a moment to gather herself enough to say it, if only so that she can actually get the right words out. ]

... I... Would wish for it, in you. If that is all right, Miaka.

[she wasn't expecting the hug but is grateful for it. It's sad that Adela lost an entirely different set of family somewhere else. But, wow, going to other worlds wasn't as uncommon as she thought!

But then Adela-chan is saying something really incredibly amazing. They could be sisters here? It made her feel so much better. Even more like she belonged.]

Of course it is!

[and she hugs her back tight and almost sends them both crashing to the floor]

This is going to be amazing, Adela-chan! Or maybe neechan. [she grins] We should go eat out to celebrate!

[ Adela can't help the surprised yelp at the force of the hug she's given, but it doesn't take her long to laugh warmly and to squeeze a little into her own hug. It's a warmth she's at once familiar with and not, but it's one that's definitely welcome then and there. ]

Where would you like to go? Perhaps we can manage to tear Smoker away from his work long enough to have him join us as well, if that appeals to you.

The buffet! And arcade! Smoker-san would like that right? [she sits back and beams at Adela. It's clear she's forcing happiness just a little but she's definitely cheered up]

Well, only he would be able to tell you for certain. But I do not think he would object to all of us having a day out like that.

[ If she can tell it's forced, she's not saying anything. As it is, enough of it is genuine to satisfy her a little, and Miaka's attitude is infectious enough for Adela to let herself be affected by it as well. ]

Then let's do it. And soon okay? [because being cheerful is hard without something behind it]
