Sunset was pretty sure she took a wrong turn when she returned to the human world.

Down one element of harmony, and her plans foiled by a trip into another world. She suppressed a scream of anger echoed by the Satan guy down the way as she sighed a little.

"Get it together Shimmer," grumbled Sunset, drawing her leather jacket around herself.

Step 1, get some money. This wouldn't last according to the hologram. Snooty looking girl ain't she? Secondly, find something, anything, to keep her from starving, and thirdly, she needed to figure out if this "Twilight Sparkle" on her contacts list really was the princess.

She loathed the thought of trying to avoid her, but this would be a good thing.

First, putting on her most innocent and scared expression, she sidled up to the nearest person. "Um, excuse me, I don't understand why I'm here. Can you help me? I dropped my money and now it's soaked and no good anymore."

Nailed it.

[Pulling out the pamphlet, she made a show of shivering a little before holding up the key.]

Your room number should be on the key. But you can stay here for a month before they kick you out, so hopefully that'll give you time to figure out what to do.

"Sunset!" she proclaimed, happily. "When did you get here?! I-I mean, did you just get here? I'm guessing everything back home got settled alright, but...!"

She should have realized who she was sidling up to when she looked, and Sunset's scowl turned cruel. "So, you came to this world too, huh Princess? Looks like you're still down an Element of Harmony."

She clasped her hands behind her back smirking. "Looks like we're on even footing this time."

"Sunset, are you feeling okay?" Twilight asked, flying up and laying a hoof on Sunset's forehead. "Oh, no, what if you were too late?! What if I was too late?!"

"Feel okay? I'm better than okay. I'm in another world, full of tech and magic I can only dream of. I can find the power I need here, and you're not going to stop me."

She made a face. "Too late for what? Stopping me? Good luck with that."

She knocked Twilight's hoof from her forehead. "Stop it, I'm not crazy."

"Miss Sunset?"

Probably the last thing the other was expecting was recognition, and yet that was exactly what she was going to get from the short girl she had approached. Her jaw dropped, disbelieving of who she was seeing before her before she looked the other over more closely.

"That is you, is it not? Please tell me the name 'Nautilus' is familiar to you, I must know!"

This had her heart pounding worse than when she realized Leanne remembered her, if her closer friends would start appearing with those memories...!

Sunset drew back in surprise. Out of everyone who might recognize her, she wasn't the person that Sunset expected. "How do you know me? What's Nautilus?" she demanded, folding her arms.

Realizing she wouldn't be able to keep up her facade around her, she made a face and shook her head. "I don't know who you're referring to? But there's only one me."

"You..."

She paused, silent as it became harder to breath. She didn't... Oh. Of course she didn't. Why would she have expected any different by now?

It was impossible to keep herself from wilting entirely, but Adela managed to release a low sigh before shaking her head, "It is a long tale, and one I fear you would not believe. The short of it is that you were a good friend to me in another world similar to this one, but I suppose that would not matter if you do not remember it."

A pause, and she decided to add, "But you are still Miss Sunset Shimmer. And... I would like to help, where I can. Do you still have your redbills with you? Perhaps we can see if something can be done for those, if they can be traded for new ones."

"Friends? What good are friends?" snorted Sunset before she looked at her wallet.

"Most of it got soaked in the water," she said, keeping up with the lie. "I'm out a few hundred."

Your money is soaked...? No problem! Do you have it with you?

[The stranger that Sunset picked proves herself to be nonchalantly abnormal. Satou has gotten a bit too hyped about her magic being a norm in Genessia. Without hesitation, and with pride more than anything, she summons her elaborate heart-shaped staff. Twirling her fingers as she had a baton, only for the staff to materialize in a puff of pink magic.

You're allowed to applaud.]

Let me fix it for you!

[MAGIC. And magic she didn't know about. Yessss, this could do nicely.

Holding up a few dozen soaked bills, she said,] Here. They fell into the cavern and into the snow.

[YES a chance to SHOW OFF. Even if this isn't a super elaborate spell, Satou is ALL OVER IT LIKE WHITES ON RICE.

She can't show off her magic to strangers like this at home.]

Okie dokie artichokies. Here I go~ [The wand glows briefly. Satou is evaporating the water, being careful not to cause the money to shrivel or become damaged. It just so happens that repairing trashed money is something Satou is good at. After all, she spent a good four years being homeless.] Tadah~! There you go.

That's quite a trick, [Said Sunset, examining the fresh bill as she replaced it into her jacket.]

To be honest, Sunset didn't even have to pull the innocent act for this girl to pipe up and offer to help. "Oh, you must be new then! We don't really know why we're here either, but it's not so bad once you figure stuff out!"

She offered up a handshake. "My name is Penny. It's nice to meet you! If you dropped your money, I'd be glad to offer you some! I don't have a whole lot, myself, but every little bit counts, or so I've heard."

"Sunset Shimmer," said Sunset, shaking her hand and smiling while on the inside, wondering just how airheaded this girl was. "It's soaked through," she said, holding up a few sodden bills. "I'm not too sure if they're good now."

"Oh, no! That's horrible!" She looked shocked, but then determined. "Well, that just won't do! Here, you can have some of mine." She took out a few bills of her own, offering them to Sunset. "Oh! And if you would like to get something to eat or buy some clothes, I know where some stores are around here! I could show you around the city."

"That'd be appreciated, thank you!" Exclaimed Sunset as she smiled and accepted the bills. "I'll be sure to pay it back once I get a job."

"Sure I wouldn't mind going around town."

[Soaking her money was probably the best if most expensive fakeout she had.]
