I'm sure y'all are tired of hearing new folks coming here with the same old nonsense, so let's just cut to the chase:

Where's the best place for a man to get a drink? Ain't gotta be fancy neither. I'm not picky.

[No doubt he'd still be there, but she mostly came to check on him. It wasn't hard to find him, being the only cowboy in here, so she'll walk over to him and take a seat. She probably shouldn't be drinking at all, but one beer doesn't hurt from time to time. She no longer has her lab coat on (dressed casually) after leaving work, but after a long shift like today, it didn't hurt to unwind a bit.]

Any of the places any good?

This one ain't so bad. [ He's been sipping his whiskey up until this point. But as she settles next to him and the name he read earlier has the face to match, he takes a long hard swig of the liquor. It's quick enough, even for him, to make him wince just slightly as it burns its way down his throat. ]

Been a while, Doc.

[She'd love to ask about how he's been, but clearly that was ignored earlier, so she'll leave it be. If he wants to talk about it, he can.]

Seems like you've made quite the splash. [Wanted posters and all back home.]

Not in my nature to do things quietly, I reckon.

[ He never really did before, no point in starting now, right? ]

Didn't think I'd be running into any familiar faces either, least of all here.

You wouldn't be you if you did, I suppose.

It's surprising what life throws at you. I've been here for half a year now and it wasn't till a week and a half ago that people I knew started to show up. I've been living with a friend I met here since.

[ He whistles lowly. Half a year alone in a world you were unexpectedly dropped into? That's rough. ]

Can't say I'm surprised you're already makin' friends, Doc. Bet you're glad a bunch of us showed up, then, huh? Whole family comin' back together? [ he's not bitter. you're bitter. ]

I've made a good amount of friends by now and that's helped me cope with dealing with an unfamiliar world, but I'm definitely glad to see you guys again. New friends are great, but nothing beats old friends and familiar faces.

[Let's not remember Christmas time when the Doctor asked her if her friends were here and how lonely she felt but didn't directly admit to him.]

[ McCree snorts, seemingly dismissive of the 'glad to see everyone again' bit. He can't say he's particularly pleased by this turn of events — but he isn't gonna make a scene either. He'll deal. ]

Suppose you're right. [ A long pull of his drink follows. ] What're you havin'?

[She doesn't exactly blame him, but for someone who's been here longer, dealt with that already, and was generally more easy going than him, it wasn't as difficult for her to at least say that much; Not that it was a bad thing. She didn't hate this world, but she had her own things to do back home. She would like to go home when it's possible as well.]

What do you suggest? I'm not a big drinker normally. Something light.

[ He falls silent again, contemplative as he goes through the long long list of drinks he's heard people order in bars. His tongue clicks against the roof of his mouth, eyes darting to the side to give her a once over - he's got it. ]

How 'bout a rose spritzer for the lady, then. [ he calls to the barkeep, half-smirking as he takes another sip from his own glass. ] Seems your brand'a drink. M'I right? [ he asks once the pretty looking glass is slid over to her. ]

[She didn't particularly drink much, mostly due to working all of the time, but she did from time to time. Admittedly she hadn't tried a rose spritzer before, but it was a type of wine. That didn't seem too bad; He wouldn't screw her over, hopefully. Admiring the glass for a moment before picking it up to take a sip of it.]

Never tried one before. It's not bad.

[ Irritated as he might be, he doesn't have much reason to screw her over. It's not her fault he's here, and it's certainly not her fault everything went to shit years ago that brought them to where they are now. Were now back home. Whatever. ]

Ain't that peachy. [ He smiles, maybe a little more genuine than the last few that have crept across his lips. ] I reckon I'll be spendin' the majority of my time in places like this for a bit, so you're welcome to join me iffin' you're not busy.

[ he's doing his best here. ]

[Nah, she doubts he would anyways. Call her an optimist or something, but she has faith in him, even if she gives him a rough time sometimes. But the events of the past... That was something she couldn't fix, no matter how hard she tried. She'll still feel like crap about that even now.]

That would be nice. I can't make it an everyday thing or anything, but It would be nice to take a break here and there every so often.

[What's this? Her? Taking a break and she said it? Crazy.]

You'll have to tell me about different drinks that you'd recommend over time.

Still workin' as hard as ever, I see. Guess some things never change.

[ He spins on the stool, back to the bar so he can prop his elbows atop it. ]

Gonna have to tell me what you like. Shots in the dark only hit so often.

Old habits die hard, I suppose. I'm just so used to being busy that if I'm not, I feel like I'm not doing something I should, when that's not the case.

[Gesturing to the drink in front of her.]

Well, this is pretty good, if that helps any.

I'd say it ain't gonna kill ya to take a break, but I wouldn't know the first thing about that.

[ BREAKS? Never heard of them. ]

Seemed like your brand. Reckon I could think of a few others you might like.

Well, it seems that you'd be joining the choir to tell me that.

[She knows there's a lot of people who's already told her, it's just a weird concept for her.]

What can I say? I like to stay busy.

I'll have to give them a try some other time then.

[To give her incentive to actually spend more time like this in particular in the future. She wasn't going to drink all of the time, but a few here and there didn't hurt.]

I ain't much for preachin'. So you don't gotta worry about that.

[ He finishes his glass and reaches for his hat, like he's about to start heading out to leave. ]

Don't let me waste all your time, doc.

Mm.... I wouldn't call this a waste of time, but probably a good time to get back home.

[She'll finish hers off as well before standing up from her seat.]

My offer still stands. If you need any help, I'm here; I'm just a call or text away. [She paused for a moment.] Thanks for the drink. I wouldn't mind joining you again sometime.

'Course. Same for you. [ McCree might be angry, bitter, and forever thinking of the past despite his best attempts to put it behind him, but he's not a bad guy. And Angela had always been good to him — he would come running if she needed something.

He sets his hat atop his head, tips the brim and starts to head out. ]
