In my meditations, a question has come to my mind, and - having found no acceptable answer on my own - I in turn pose to the people who have been brought here against their will.

What do you do with a weapon whose purpose is lost?

That depends I suppose. What is the purpose of the weapon in the first place?

Maybe we can find new purpose for this weapon!

I guess it would depend on what the weapon was suppose to be used for. Or even how it's purpose got lost.

I'm sure a weapon could always find another purpose, even if the original reason is long gone.

The same as all weapons; to destroy.

All weapons share a singular purpose; to destroy. The purpose was lost when the weapon itself refused it.

There is but one purpose all weapons are created for. Destruction.

That's not true! Not all weapons are made to destroy!

A lot of those weapons were made initially for the sole purpose of protecting others. To make lives better.

And just how does a weapon protect? By destroying something else. It matters not whether it's a blade or something more sophisticated. Weapons are made for battle, and battle alone. They have no purpose in peace.

Of course not! That is not true at all.

I can't go into detail, but I know someone who wields a weapon. She wields a very powerful weapon. A weapon that can destroy the entire universe and time itself if she wills it. And yet, never has she killed a single soul with her weapon. She uses her weapon to rid her enemies with all their negative emotions, heal people's bodies, and restore peace in the world!

Then it is not a weapon. It is a tool. A weapon, by definition is to be used in battle.

And she uses it for battle. She's used it to defeat her enemies. She won wars which could have destroyed the world. But she didn't kill people while using that weapon.

Tell me then. Did this "weapon" breathe?

Of course not. But they say that if she calls upon it, the weapon comes to her aid.

Why would you like to know? Why did you ask this question to begin with? Is something wrong?

I may not have been forged the same way as most weapons, but my creator made it very clear that was what I am.

[He rolls his eyes a bit.]

What I want is immaterial. I am what I am, and I cannot change that any more than you can change what you are.

What you want is important! It is very important. If you want to better yourself, you can do it!

Just like, if your IQ isn't that high, it doesn't necessarily mean you'll fail all your exams! You just have to work hard!

Make it into something that's not a weapon, like repurposing. Like you can make jeans you don't use anymore into paper or use the pole from a spear as a back scratcher or a hockey stick. You can take the gunpowder out of bullets and make it into a firework... Do you need more examples?

It must be nice to live in a world colored by naive delusions.

What good would a living weapon be if it lacked the capacity to read situations and adjust accordingly?

I never said anything about living in such a world. I live in a world filled with war, evil people and scary people who want nothing else but to destroy the world.
