Hello?

[The voice is that of a teenage girl, cautious but at least trying to show willing in this strange new place. There's a pause, then, as though she hasn't fully figured out what she really wants to say - does she mention where she was supposed to be? Does she mention the Shadows?

Eventually, she finds her voice again.]

Um...this is kind of new to me so I'm not really sure where to start. I got the welcome message and the map and all but...is there anything else I should know?

[That should be broad enough to get something helpful, she hopes.]

[Action - Genessia City]

[Considering she'd been gearing up to head into the deepest depths of Mementos last she remembers, Ann's really not sure what to make of all this. She's in her regular clothes, so wherever she is she's not considered a threat right now at least, but she's not sure whether that should be comforting or worrying.

Still, she's not going to figure anything out by staying in one place so she figures she should at least go to check out where she's supposed to be staying right now. She's aware it could also be a trap, but so long as she goes into it expecting that, maybe it'll lead to some useful information.

At least, that was the plan. It's not that she doesn't know how to follow a map but when a girl stumbles across a mall, she can't be blamed for wanting to take a look around, right? Even if she can't really buy much, just the act of looking should be enough to help calm her down. And once she's done with the mall, she has to see what else is around, right?

And so she can be found looking in various store windows, lingering longer when she spots a cute outfit she can't help but want. The real danger, though, is when she reaches a bakery with a range of desserts that's just begging to be sampled.]

I shouldn't...but just one couldn't hurt, right?

[She's not addressing anyone in particular but that's not to say she goes unheard, either...]

[She's too stunned by his also being there to check what she's doing so she manages to hit the button that switches to video too as much by luck than by judgement.]

Wait, what do you mean late? I don't remember this being part of the plan! How can I be late for something I didn't know about?

[And how, if that's the case, haven't any of the more responsible members of the team told her before Ryuji did?]

Oh uh, yeah this wasn't apart of any plan but... wait wait!

[he has learned something here at least! ryuji switched the video from public to private, so it really is only the two of them talking to one another. whew! don't want to let slip any actual phantom thieves plans.]

I'unno you just are! All of the guys are here, and the only gal here is Futaba. In that case I guess you ain't as late as Makoto or Haru.

Before you say anythin', this ain't a palace. I thought that for a long ass time when I got here before realizing that ain't true.

[Look at that, Ryuji's ahead of Ann on the privacy front for once. She'll just blame shock of the new for that one.]

So it's just those two we're missing? Well that would explain it, if Makoto was here she wouldn't sit back and let the rest of us be late.

And I figured that much. I did wonder if Mementos had just had a complete makeover or something but I'm not even sure we made it that far before whatever happened that saw me end up here. Though...I haven't got as far as trying to summon my Persona yet. I just figured the fact I'm dressed like me meant there wasn't a need to.

[But the fact there are monsters here makes her want to find out sooner rather than later.]

Yeah... we would all be in a lot of shit. I haven't been goin' to any kind of school here, I've just been workin' at the arcade and stuff. She would probs murder me for that.

Ah, yeah I guess you're right about that, haven't really tried. I figured if we can use our Personas, then there's gotta be some kinda Metaverse, right? I mean, Ren would defs be the guy to ask about this.

[ryuji does seem a bit more serious now.] And be careful Ann, seriously. Weird shit goes on here a lot, and it is way different than anythin' we've seen.

Maybe I'll ask him when I get hold of him. Though even if there is, we should probably be careful about deciding we should investigate.

Yeah...I already heard about Everglade and apparently there are vampires here? And just when I thought the biggest thing I'd have to worry about was finding work so I can move before they kick me out of what the briefing tells me is a pretty crummy place to call home.

Vampires are just the start of it. Heard there were some people that suddenly showed up as like... some kinda alternate universe version of themselves? It was messed up. One night me 'n Akechi ran into some rotting flesh monster, probs from Everglade, and had to take care of that.

[She doesn't even think to assume Ryuji doesn't know what Akechi's deal is. He was right there, same as she was, when the truth came out so forgive her if she's a little bewildered that he would say something like that without so much as a flinch.]

[oh.... uh, right. ryuji frowned at the thought, knowing full well what she must be thinking. he shook his head, rubbing the back of his neck.]

[ryuji just felt so conflicted about the guy.]

That guy is... I still don't trust him, not one bit. I got my eye on him, and Ren of course, and I hate the idea of the two of them bein' anywhere near each other. But... tch, the guy said he won't do anythin' weird here and won't start shootin' people. He's... been weirdly nice to me? Despite me nearly punching him in the face and callin' out the fact that he died.

I don't like him, but we've been gettin' along? If that even makes any sense.

[Why is she all kinds of not surprised that Ryuji almost punched him and handled the discussion of Akechi's death so gracelessly?

Still, it gives her something to think about. Her feelings about Akechi are complicated and she's not had a whole lot of time to figure them out. And as smooth as he is, Ann figures they caught Akechi out once before when they had less reason to suspect him. So really, they've got the edge.]

I think I get it. If he has to be here at all it's probably better that we're not having to fight him all the time. Especially with all the other weird stuff you mentioned.

[yeah... it was all kinds of messed up.]

Still, keep your guard up, yeah? Don't want him to do some weird shit and suddenly you're on the other end of it. Or somethin'.

Yeah definitely. It's still pretty weird though, just bein' here and living on our own. Without my mom around it's just...
